This is just a ramble and not me bashing anyone’s sexual headcanons, but I really like when headcanons build upon a facet of a character we don’t see much and not just continue lathering redundant emphasis on qualities we already know.

Take Micah for example (Again, not calling out anyone, this fictional guy is just a great example for this): the game shows him as a insulting prick who always wants to be the one in control of situations and has an affinity for knives and guns.

What does every person in the fandom headcanon for him? “He has a degradation kink, he is always dom, he is into knife play, he loves gun play, he loves blood play, he—“ and so on.

I think sexual situations are a great scenario to explore how characters behave in 1) surface level sexual situations with no vulnerability, or 2) an intimate and trusting environment with partner(s).

I want to see people talking about how Bill, or Dutch, or Javier, or Molly, or Karen, or Tilly, or Abigail, or Mary, or Kieran, or Micah, or Lenny, or anyone else behaves when they’re able to feel safe with someone(s) they trust and will open themselves to.

This comes back to micah because (he is my blorbo) he is such a common example: what if he can finally soften up in a safe situation? What if he can finally let his tired old bones rest in a bed and have lips ghost across him up to his fuzzy cheeks? What if he can give up some control; stop jumping from foot to foot always in a defensive and offensive position?

I think sexual headcanons are most powerful when they explore power dynamics and embarrassments the characters don’t get to indulge in during every-day life. Let Molly command Dutch! Let Bill be willingly tied up and unable to fight! Let Mary-Beth indulge her book fantasies! Etc.

Not every big bad man has to be big bad in bed. Not every dainty woman has to be dainty and submissive in bed.

Anyways…… I really love unique headcanons. And I may or may not rip out a few of my hairs if I see more luke warm takes on how characters are in bed.
