You deserve better - Part 3

You looked in the mirror one last time before you left for your date with Josiah Trelawny. You were a little nervous and yet you couldn’t describe in words how happy you were to see him again. It was a happy coincidence that Henry had to leave Saint-Denis again. So you could live in freedom. God, if Henry knew you were going to meet another man, he would kill you. The thought that one day he would find out scared you, but you didn’t want to be locked up in this house all your life and do exactly what your husband wants. You also wanted to see the charming magician again. You wanted to get to know him and just feel good. When you noticed with satisfaction that your dress looked good on you and your hair fits well, you left the house to meet Josiah Trelawny at the agreed meeting point. You had chosen a simple dress. It was long and light blue. The fabric covers your shoulders. You wanted to hide the blue hematomas that Henry had left on your delicate skin. You wore your long hair loose and it fell in large waves over your right shoulder. Would Josiah like it? He had got you out of the river back then and you had been wet from top to bottom. That’s how he’d met you, and if you thought about how worried he was about the snake, you had to smile. The handling of his horse had also been very loving. He was very different from Herny on this point. But you kept asking yourself if Mister Trelawny was really the gentleman he pretended to be? Or was he just wearing a mask to fool you? As you headed into the park, you were concerned about it. Henry had also been kind and gentle at the beginning of your relationship. But at some point, he had shown his true face and now you had to pay for your naivety. But something told you that you could trust Josiah. You could feel that he was different. When you walked into the park you could already see Josiah - with a beautiful pink rose in his hands he was waiting for you and he hadn’t seen you yet. You stopped for a moment and looked at the attractive man who seemed caught in his thoughts. He looked very calm and relaxed and you could see the delicate smile on his lips while looking at the rose. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a red vest with fine patterns. You sigh softly but you had to smile - yes, you should try and open your heart to another person. Josiah heard someone walk up to him and he turned his face towards you. When he saw you, he gave you a friendly smile. He was hoping that you would accept his invitation and he was happy to see you again. And you were more beautiful than he remembered. Josiah’s words got stuck in his throat.
