I am a photographer striving to change the world, even if it's just one picture at a time. All photographs on this blog are taken by me and are unaltered unless otherwise stated. Please DM me with any questions. I am currently looking for a professional photographer to take me under their wing!

Artist’s Statement
Ever since I was a young child, photography has been a prominent part of my life. Way back when, my father owned and operated a photo lab (It’s probably not healthy, but I love the smell of the film developing chemicals), and my mother was constantly taking pictures of my brother and I, to the point where I just thought that’s how life was for most people. As I got older, I realized it was quite the opposite, and that my family is actually a part of the minority. Especially nowadays, when people use their smartphones to take pictures because it is a faster and more easily accessible process.
To me, this class and my artwork mean so much more than just a grade. To me, I am continuing on something that both of my parents understand and appreciate, something that I love. I also believe that people are made up of parts, as there are certainly hundreds of things that make me who I am; I am not one-sided, but rather quite complex. So, in a way, my photographs are extensions of who I am. Photography is my way of expressing myself, my way of rebelling against all that I know and despise.

These are two 4x5 negatives that I took while TA-ing Photo I. I did a little bit of editing in Lightroom after scanning them onto the computer, mostly cropping and correcting the whites and blacks, but otherwise I loved the way they came out. Thank you Dorothy for being my model! I like taking portraits now :)

These are some photos that I took of the flower bouquets that my parents got for me and my boyfriend. It was our last dance show this past saturday. I particularly like the last one because of the lighting. The lighting is similar to a dramatically lit portrait. For all of the others above, I used the flash.
