It's oftentimes tempting to pit the arts and the sciences as opposites, when in fact they are two sides of the same coin! Full rainbow palette! I kind of wish I had done a limited palette for this just so it was more consistent, but my only plan for this painting was "be colorful" so it is what it is 🌈

The palette from this painting! During my larger paintings, my palette ends up being scraped clean multiple times throughout the process of painting, but one session paintings get to live all at once. This is one of my favorite palettes to use for portraits (especially ones where I'm feeling lazy) featuring hits like ultramarine, burnt umber, and Portland gray which is a nice warm gray.

Hello from the Americans for the Arts conference in Cincinnati! Since I am at a conference this is a bit of a hypothetical, but I am considering starting a Patreon and am curious as to whether people would be interested in such a thing. I'm thinking a range of $5 at the highest tier, a middle tier at $3, and the low tier at $1 as a kind of "tip jar." Are there any rewards people would be interested in?
