*Essay Warning* A few years ago I went on the injection. Within the first month I had gained +_ 20 kgs. By the time I decided to stop getting the injections I was miserable; I felt suffocated in my new, much larger body, my athsma had gotten worse, and my overall stamina had dropped. I stopped putting on makeup, I stopped taking selfies, I stopped liking my appearance in pictures and the mirror. Around the middle of last year, my mom talked me into making an effort. Slowly but surely it's begun to make a huge difference in the way I see myself. The other night was the first time in years that I slathered myself in black eyeliner and instead of thinking that my eyes looked too small, or that my cheeks swallowed my face, I was really excited by the way it turned out. This milestone means so much to me because my little gothic heart has been pining for some (a lot of) eyeliner in my life.
