Overgrown in Seaman, Ohio by durand clark
Via Flickr:
The Appalachian Village of Seaman was founded in 1881 when the Cincinnati & Eastern Railroad passed thru Adams County. Named after Franklin Seaman, who donated land for a train depot. According to the 2020 census, there is zero diversity in Seaman. The original business district is all but abandoned. The Appalachian Highway runs east to west about a mile south of Seaman with a handful of new businesses. A motel and handful of fast foods and a diner are found at the intersection with the highway. Hard to tell what's abandoned and what's occupied in this quiet village.

Abandoned Eadgers Inn in Pike County Ohio by durand clark
Via Flickr:
The well preserved building is empty but dates back to 1797. Once a road house on the route from the Chillicothe heading south west to Maysville, Kentucky. During the Civil War General John Hunt Morgan stayed at this inn. The inn operated until 1870. The owner tried to get historical funding to restore the building. A couple gathering bags of walnuts on this site said no luck in funding.

A skunk was foraging in my yard this morning, I’m so happy he stuck around! (Also had a staring contest with a squirrel)
