LOCKED UP IN THE CELLAR, Ron's gaze followed the small piece of twist ties that were near the gate's entryway as Zaya came into view and stood beside it. He had found them earlier near the corner of where he was currently situated and tried to create some sort of makeshift key. It failed miserably after his cuffed wrists made it impossible to poke around the lock.
"I figured as much," He couldn't help but reply sarcastically, his eyes meeting hers after studying the book she held in her grasp. "Why are you back here again? Are you going to bore my ear out some more?"
Zaya diggory . At least that is what most thought including herself up until the war ended . VOLDEMORT’S HEIR . Funny enough it would explain a lot . She was the first diggory to be sorted in slytherin . turns out she was never one . She is a RIDDLE . One can never know if she won’t rise up and finished what her father could not . Since then , she was basically monitored closely . More than most . Yet , those who truly know her would know , zaya never sided with the order or death eaters . the girl always looked after herself and didn’t really care for much . ❝ ⸻ You dropped that . ❞ Zaya pointed out as she held the book she was currently reading in her hand . One thing for sure , she had her father’s eyes .

" - BRILLIANT!" Astoria said breathlessly, as a smile ghosted itself over her features since she didn't expect the confirmation to come so easily. "I'm very happy to know that you'll be attending, we all need this," She beamed. Her eyes then followed along the journal that was still left open; the scribbles of notes and entries were a bit difficult to make out from her point of view. "I apologize if I'm intruding but, what are you writing about..? There, on your notebook I mean,"
reaching out, the invitation is taken between her fingers, emerald hues look over the perfectly executed invite and she thought over a moment. it had been a long, long time since she did anything fun. nodding her head, the ginger stuffed the invite into her leather jacket. ❝ yeah i will stop by, i need to be pulled from my thoughts every now and again it seems. ❞ ginny mused, a small smirk on her lips.

" - UGH, TELL ME ABOUT IT," Astoria couldn't help but sigh whilst shaking her head in disbelief. "Everything is so...excruciatingly intense, I'm just sick of it all really." She let out a pitiful chuckle. "My spirits have surely livened up now we bumped paths again. What have you been up to as of late?"
❝ god, i would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders. ❞ her nose wrinkling at the revelation, but smiling a little when taking the device back from the other. ❝ i'm glad i've run into you, it's been too long hasn't it? world keeping us both busy. ❞

" - MUST YOU STOMP AROUND WHILE YOU WALK?" Malfoy shook his head and relaxed his shoulders before crossing his arms. "You walk around like a bloody troll."
From the corner of his eye, he watched Goyle crouch to pick up a couple of flat rocks. Malfoy noticed his occasional yawns and messy bedhead before resuming to gaze longingly at the sunset despite his neutral demeanour. The sounds of faint splashes echoed beside him as Goyle began to skip the rocks across the still water. "What did the Dark Lord want last night? I heard you were called in so suddenly."
goyle had been restless, for whatever reason sleep had been alluding him. the wizard sighed, rubbing a hand harshly over his stubble ridden face and got out of bed. he pushed his feet into boots, pulling a jacket on over his clothing and went out for a stroll. walks cleared his thoughts and maybe the activity would be enough to get him some rest. coming through to the river, thoughts of skipping rocks in mind and he spotted draco. approaching the other, he lifted a brow at the reaction, but also gaining a chuckle from him. ❝ oi mate relax, it's just me. ❞

HE WAS RARELY STUNNED - he wouldn't even let a charm do so, but Malfoy was once again, caught off guard as he stood in front of the last person he expected and wanted to see.
"Granger...?" His eyes raked across her in astonishment before his expression grew serious and absolutely livid. "What the bloody hell are you doing here? Merlin, I sure don't have Deatheaters after me, but they will soon once they find the both of us together at the same bloody place." Malfoy said through gritted teeth as he looked around the area to make sure no one else was near. "Hogsmeade is swarming with dark troops. I presumed out of all people, you would know this by now."
❝ ⸻ On edge , Malfoy . . . It's not like you have DEATH EATERS after you . ❞ Hermione held up her hand . Showing him she wouldn't attack him , but at the same time she wanted to belive he wouldn't do the same . She owed him that much after he was the one who helped her after 4 years . Helped as much as he could during those 4 years of being tortured by his aunt .
Hermione wondered what he was doing there out of all places . She had her own reasons and reasons she will be only keeping to herself . there was so much work to do and so little time .

HIS FACE IMMEDIATELY SOFTENED at the familiar motherly tone that greeted him from the end of the trail leading to the river bank. Malfoy silently drew a shaky breath through his nose as he pulled his hand away from the inside of his cloak; his defensive pose withering away instantly.
"Mother," he spoke gently when she approached him. "Must I remind you not to sneak up on me like that once more? I nearly almost hurt you." He then offered his arm so she could loop hers through as they began to walk out on the trail towards the exit of the woods and into Hogsmeade Village. "I was expecting you'd spend at least a couple of hours shopping or browsing through the boutiques, but of course, the Three Broomsticks had caught your eye as usual."
" ⸻ well, " narcissa started, hands gently resting against her stomach as she made her way to draco's side in gracefull steps. " can't said i was trying to be. " she smiled lightly, looking at him for a moment before moving her eyes to take in the view before them. she lifted one of her hands, laying it softly on his shoulder. " ⸻ let's drink something warm before going home, little dragon. "

DRACO'S HAND RELAXED AWAY from his holster, before straightening up his stance. His face morphed back into its maskless expression once the familiar entity came into view, except for the slight twinkle in his eyes as he failed to resist another mischievous comment from escaping his lips.
"They've got you delivering food now, weasel? Never thought I'd get to see the day," His eyes followed the packed-up lunch that Percy placed beside the stones. "It's already enough that my mother is pestering me about meal times. I'm not a child. You don't need to nag me too."
"I wasn't trying, Malfoy, hold the bloody hippogriffs," Percy crossed the tree line, voice evenly snarkless despite the harsh wording. He joined Draco by the river bank, a few steps behind the boy he'd been tasked with meeting. Malfoy might have been a fully grown man by then, but he was also only Ron's age — «Voldemort's right hand» or not, Percy rarely managed not to look at him as he would a younger sibling ( not that any of those, Malfoy included, ever wanted much to do with him. ) He turned his gaze to the sunset instead, extending the brown lunch bag in his hand to the right at Draco."Your mother says you're working the night again," he relayed, "and that you 'ought to have dinner today'. Take it."

THE COOL AUTUMN BREEZE nipped his skin as he stood by the river bank in the forest near Hogsmeade Valley. Draco was out on a stroll and spent the last few moments standing idly whilst staring at the horizon; watching the skies change colours as the sun was about to set. Another day passed doing the same damn things. He just wanted all of this to be over. Amidst the creak's chirps, the faintest snap of twigs rang by his ears - a type of sound only experienced soldiers like him could catch. "Even a niffler is better than that." He spoke up sternly, before craning his neck to the side as his fingertips grazed his wand from his holster. "Show yourself."

ASTORIA CROUCHED DOWN to pick up the discarded phone and held it out to the familiar stranger in front of her. "You dropped this - Oh! Hey, fancy seeing you here Calli."
calliope sighed, a hand running through her hair. her parents were just not understanding the importance of staying in hiding. her father much too proud, hell bent on living his life no matter the cost. they were muggles and both she an her brother, neither of them wanted to take the chance of their parents getting caught up in all of this. ❝ this discussion isn't over, but i'm going to go before someone hears me. im not at home. ❞ words huffed with into the phone silently, with irritation and she slipped the phone back into her pocket before looking around. entering the bookstore, she almost collided with another. ❝ oi, sorry. my head is a bloody mess right now. ❞

ASTORIA WAS BROWSING through the store with a basket of her own filled with produce for tonight's dinner. It was her usual itinerary that she loved to do, even if some may deem it odd - especially if they had known who she really was. "It seems that pheasants sound tastier this time of the year," She laughed softly, not helping to overhear the woman's comments. "Although, I do have a sweet tooth myself. Such a shame I cannot bake, unfortunately."
Molly had found out almost halfway through baking some goodies that she ran out of one of her ingredients, she let out a breath as she walked through a store, she looked over some of the choices and shook her head "you would think that baking ingredients would be in high demand" she said with a small chuckle, not really saying it to anyone, but whoever wanted to respond near her.

" - I DIDN'T INTERRUPT YOUR TRAIN OF THOUGHT, DID I?" Astoria smiled apologetically as she sat down in front of her. She then fished through her purse and held out a neatly wrapped invitation. "I'm throwing my annual housewarming party and was hoping you would attend."
ginny was in her head, the ginger sat at a table in the leaky cauldron. nose practically in a notebook that sat in front of her while she scribbled away with a black pen. her red painted nails wrap around a glass before her, lifting the pint to her lips and taking a long swig. all along she felt a set of eyes on her. ❝ what is it then ? ❞ ginny asked, emerald hues finally lifting to see who was before her, gesturing for them to take a seat at the table she was occupying.

ASTORIA COULDN'T HELP but sigh in defeat as she had to repeat her words once more, yet managed to smile warmly nonetheless. "I was calling out for you!" She said, walking on over to hug her fellow Ravenclaw schoolmate courtly. "Fancy seeing you here, Cho. How long has it been?"
Cho let out a small breath as she was walking around with a warm drink in her hand, she was enjoying some time to herself. She remembered a time when she was outgoing and talked to everyone but since losing someone she was friends with, she had become closed off slightly. Cho wasn't paying attention to anything until she heard someone and then turned to look at them "sorry, what was that?"

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃:
Upbringing:
As the youngest son in the vibrant and bustling Weasley household, Ron Weasley was surrounded by laughter, mischief, and endless adventures.
Growing up in such a lively environment, Ron cherished the chaos that came with being one of seven siblings. He had Fred and George, the twins who were always up to something mischievous, Charlie with his love for magical creatures, and Bill, who had a keen interest in the magical world's ancient mysteries. Then there were Percy and Ginny, each with their own unique personalities and dreams. It was a house where every day was an adventure, and there was never a dull moment.
One of the defining characteristics of Ron's upbringing was his simple outlook on life. Despite growing up in a family with limited financial means, he never cared about riches or extravagant possessions. He was content with hand-me-downs, from clothes to broomsticks, and saw the value in practicality and the importance of love and togetherness.
Ron's family instilled in him the core values of loyalty, bravery, and the importance of standing up for what's right. He was taught to value people and experiences over material possessions, and this outlook became a defining aspect of his character.
During Hogwarts:
As a member of the Weasley family, Ron was no stranger to high expectations. He had a legacy to uphold, with brothers who had excelled in various fields like Quidditch, academia, and magical creatures. However, Ron was determined to create his path and make his own statement. He was more than just "another Weasley." He wanted to prove his worth on his terms, and he did just that.
At Hogwarts, Ron's life was never dull or boring. He embraced the magic and mystery of the wizarding world, and his years at the school were filled with thrilling moments, deep friendships, and the joy of learning and growing. He played on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, engaged in countless escapades, and faced danger head-on, even if it meant confronting his deepest fears.
Ron's most significant achievement was becoming an integral part of the "Golden Trio," alongside Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. Their friendship was a cornerstone of his years at Hogwarts. Together, they uncovered countless mysteries and truths about the wizarding world. Each year brought new adventures and challenges, from battling the Dark Arts to seeking out Horcruxes in their quest to defeat Voldemort. Ron's loyalty, humour, and unwavering support made him an essential member of the trio and a true hero in his own right.
Much like his family, Ron never cared about blood status. Despite being a pureblood wizard, he held no prejudice against Muggle-borns or half-bloods. He was always ready to defend and protect those close to him, regardless of their bloodline. His sense of justice and fierce loyalty extended not just to Harry and Hermione but to all who needed his help.
Events from the War:
Ron Weasley's heart was heavy with guilt and grief in the aftermath of the Dark Lord's triumph in the war. The loss of one of his best friends, Harry Potter, weighed on him like an insurmountable burden. Their last conversation had ended in a heated argument, and Ron had never gotten the chance to formally apologize for the harsh words he'd spoken.
Desperate for vengeance and consumed by remorse, Ron embarked on a perilous and solitary mission to confront the Dark Lord. It was an act driven by a burning desire to make amends for his perceived shortcomings during the war, but it was one that led him down a treacherous path. The Dark Lord was waiting, and Ron's audacious attempt to confront him ended in capture and imprisonment.
Within the confines of the Ministry, Ron endured torture and relentless questioning as a member of the Golden Trio. His unwavering loyalty to Harry and Hermione and their relentless pursuit of justice were the cause of his suffering. Ron's blood status, although a mark of privilege in some eyes, did little to protect him from the dark forces that had overtaken the Ministry.
In a twist of fate, Ron's blood status eventually played a role in his release from the depths of imprisonment. It granted him a more lenient punishment, a second chance of sorts. However, it came at a heavy cost. Ron was coerced into becoming an Auror, tasked with hunting down the remaining members of the Order who were still determined to end the Dark Lord's reign.
Stuck in this difficult and morally ambiguous task, Ron found himself torn between his duty to the Order, his family, and his own principles. Every day was a struggle to make ends meet, to fulfill his duty, and to avoid becoming a pawn in the Dark Lord's plans. He was forced to keep his distance from his loved ones, knowing that his affiliation with the Ministry made him a target and a potential instrument of the Dark Lord's influence.

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃:
Upbringing:
Astoria Greengrass, the youngest of two daughters in a prolific pureblood family, had a childhood that was a blend of tradition and divergence from the norm. While pureblood families typically adhered to strict blood purity ideals and were discriminatory towards non-purebloods, the Greengrass family were known for their amicable and somewhat open-minded attitude, willing to engage with others in the wizarding community, even if they were not of pureblood descent.
One of the most influential relationships in Astoria's life was her bond with her older sister, Daphne. They were close in age and had spent their formative years together, developing a deep and genuine connection. Despite their shared upbringing and the love they had for each other, their relationship became strained over time. The root of this strain lay in the differing views they held about life, purity, and the wizarding world.
During Hogwarts:
Unlike the rest of her family, Astoria was sorted into Ravenclaw house, confirming her internal struggle for belonging within her family circle. Fortunately, it also allowed her to attain a deep sense of belonging and self-confidence being apart from traditional norms and expectations. This newfound self-assurance allowed her to embrace her unique identity.
Astoria’s vivacious personality and outgoing nature made her a social butterfly among her fellow students. Regardless of the academic season or even during holidays, she would host parties and events that quickly became the stuff of legends. Her gatherings were known for their grandeur, creativity, and ability to bring people from all houses and backgrounds together. Her parties and events gained such notoriety that she earned the nickname "the social queen bee" among her peers. Her soirées made headlines in the Daily Prophet, and they became sought-after invitations for students who wished to boost their social status and gain exposure within the wizarding community.
Events from the War:
Astoria’s family decided not to participate in the war, specifically in the events of the final battle at Hogwarts. Seeking refuge with relatives in France, they distanced themselves from the turmoil that had gripped England, particularly after the Dark Lord's triumph in killing Harry Potter. The Greengrass family, with Astoria's father as a notable figure in the Ministry of Magic, had been cautious not to take sides overtly, and their retreat to France was an extension of that strategy.
As a pureblood family with a long history and established connections, the Greengrass family managed to preserve their neutrality amidst the escalating conflict. Astoria, with her blood status, enjoyed the privilege of not being forced to choose a side, and her popularity within the wizarding world added to her influence. While many others were forced to pick a side, she remained an enigmatic figure who had not taken a clear stance in the ongoing war.
Intriguingly, Astoria continued to host her extravagant parties, where notable figures from the Ministry and, in some cases, even Death Eaters would attend. Her soirées were shrouded in secrecy and speculation, giving rise to countless rumours. Some believed that her gatherings were orchestrated to aid in prolonging the Dark Lord's reign. Others insisted that she was secretly working with the Order of the Phoenix to undermine the Dark Lord's rule.
The truth of Astoria's activities remained elusive, hidden behind a veil of ambiguity. Her motives and allegiances were subjects of ongoing debate and speculation in the wizarding world. Those who attended her parties spoke of coded conversations, secretive glances, and rumours of unexpected alliances, further fueling the mystery surrounding her role in the present time.

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃:
Upbringing:
As the only child of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, Draco Malfoy grew up with a sense of entitlement and a deep-rooted belief in the superiority of pureblood wizards. From the moment he could comprehend the concept of blood status, Draco was taught that Muggles, Muggle-borns, and half-bloods were beneath him. His parents, particularly his father, Lucius Malfoy, were staunch supporters of Voldemort's ideology and the idea of a pureblood wizarding society. This influence greatly impacted Draco's upbringing, leading him to develop a sense of arrogance and disdain towards those who did not meet the pureblood standard.
However, Draco's upbringing was not entirely devoid of compassion. He shared a unique bond with his mother, Narcissa Malfoy. She was a loving and caring presence in his life, and a deep mutual affection marked their relationship. Another notable aspect of Draco's character is his interaction with their family house-elf named Dobby. While most pureblood wizards regarded house elves as subservient beings to be treated with cruelty and disdain, Draco exhibited a somewhat softer attitude towards Dobby. He treated the elf with more kindness than many of his peers, despite Dobby's protests. This seemingly unexpected behaviour hinted at a more complex and compassionate side of Draco's character, one that was often overshadowed by his loyalty to his family's ideals and his desire to prove himself.
During Hogwarts:
Draco Malfoy's years at Hogwarts were a mix of conflicting emotions and experiences. While he may have been known for his animosity towards Harry Potter and his friends, as well as his disdain for those he considered beneath him, his time at the school held a special place in his heart.
From the moment Draco stepped onto the platform at King's Cross Station and boarded the Hogwarts Express, he felt a sense of belonging within the stone walls of the castle. Hogwarts was a place where he could escape the expectations and pressures of his family, and where he could make his own path. In Slytherin House, he found a group of friends who shared his pureblood beliefs and his ambition to succeed in the wizarding world. Draco's dedication to his house and his own ambitions earned him the honour of becoming a Prefect. It was a position he took with pride, eager to uphold the values and traditions of Slytherin House. He enjoyed the authority and responsibility that came with the role, and it allowed him to exercise his influence over his peers.
However, everything took an abrupt and dark turn during his sixth year at Hogwarts. His family, particularly his father, Lucius, had been deeply involved with the Dark Lord. Draco was then forcibly ordered to kill Albus Dumbledore, the beloved headmaster of Hogwarts, a task that proved far more complex and emotionally taxing than he could have ever imagined. Throughout the year, he struggled with the weight of this responsibility and the knowledge that failure would result in dire consequences for his family. Draco's internal turmoil began to erode the mischievous and snarky persona that had defined him for years.
Events from the War:
When the final battle between Lord Voldemort’s forces reached Hogwarts, Draco and his family made a desperate attempt to escape the chaos that had consumed the castle. With Voldemort's relentless pursuit of Harry Potter, the Malfoys were well aware that they were in grave danger. Upon successfully killing Harry Potter in the Forbidden Forest, the news spread like wildfire, and Voldemort, victorious, returned to Malfoy Manor, seeking to tighten his grip on those who had once shown cowardice in fleeing.
Desperate to protect his mother, Narcissa, and to salvage the shreds of his father's remaining pride, Draco took a fateful and irreversible step: He made the ultimate sacrifice by offering himself to the Dark Lord as his personal right-hand man. In doing so, he aimed to shield his family from the full wrath of Voldemort and to secure their position within the new order. This act of selflessness was driven by a mixture of fear, love for his family, and an overwhelming sense of duty.
Ten long years passed, during which the wizarding world lived under the oppressive rule of the Dark Lord. Draco's identity as Voldemort's high reeve remained a closely guarded secret, shrouded in anonymity. To the general populace, he was but a whisper, a shadow in the dark, orchestrating the cruelties and instilling the fear that marked that dark era.
Draco, the boy who had once revelled in the traditions and privileges of pureblood ideology, had transformed into something far more sinister and complex. He had become the enigmatic enforcer of the Dark Lord's rule, the architect of countless acts of cruelty and oppression that plagued the wizarding world. His actions shaped the history of that bleak period, leaving a cruel mark on the collective memory of a society forced to live in constant fear.
