Thinking about the DMC4 and DMC5 devil trigger concepts that had Dante's DT with a tail that didn't end up in the final product
In DMC5, Vergil properly got to win tail rights with his Sin Devil Trigger in his final design
Guess big brother is the only one who gets that right, lmao
Sparda didn't have one unless its hidden, so....either Sparda has one hidden in his back ala Cell from DBZ, eating the fruit and rebirthing gave Vergil an added kinder egg surprise mutation for his SDT or demon genetics are just funky. Obviously very likely the last one, but its funny to think about.
I love when they do costumes sharing the same themes over several games, because its easy AU material. Even if some are just in concept and unused (Like Jill's western outfit here I believe), its funny that its just been a general idea.
As an Example: I like to think Pirate Leon and Pirate Jill are rivals out on the seas. (I included Chris there because also sea theme but you know he can be another Captain out there, since that title follows him across verses too I guess).
Meanwhile in Yeehaw land, you got several cowboys and cowgirls with canon costumes and room to even expand the wardrobe. The fandom's been running generally well with it!
Dragon’s Dogma 2 put out a character creator demo and I spent 2 hours making V in it as my pawn after wrestling with it and screenshots I had the whole time
(Yes I’m aiming to bring him to my full game)
Whoever put that name in the Moniker list knew what they were doing, huh
So I decided to work on a Nero Iceberg post after the Vergil one and IDEALLY I wanted to trim it down in the final product...buuuut I ended up going even longer. Whoops.
Admittedly, I'm not AS well versed in Nero as I am Dante and Vergil, so forgive me if I missed out on some details. I also open the floor to any additions or such people want to add, as I have been for the Vergil post on Twitter.
I made a transcript for all the text juuuust incase opening it still makes it hard to comprehend.
Had to open my game and double check this for myself (replaying the section), but if you do well in Nero's section of the credits fights, you get this bonus dialogue of Nico praising Nero and calling him 'Lil Bro'.
Ladies and Gentlemen....I present to you the extended Vergil Iceberg that was put together because Vergil, along with his brother, is often misinterpreted and overlooked in just how deep a character he is
...and I wanted one out there that's expanded from this one out there
Maybe I went abit too deep BUT hey I think I covered everything. :' )
Might as well put this out here too since I spent time on it I guess. Based on the new skin for the newest Vergil unit, Count Thunder.
Pose is based on a painting of King Edward VII, since originally I wanted to do a full on painting style (didn't work for me in the end sadly) and I also took a clipart that I reworked abit.
I also drew in all the 'seams' over coloring in the end because I thought it initially looked too plain and I was pressed for time.
He has a beauty mark to match my Dante HCs that the twins have mirroring beauty marks on their faces.
Dante and Vergil using each other's weapons in DMC3 and DMC4 is a really good showcase on how often the twins trained together and practically know each other's weapons and fighting styles.
Like...I think about this often. Its both touching and tragic that they know each other well in that respect but not so much these days in others due to being out of touch with each other for so long.
Dante even mimics Vergil when he pulls out Yamato in 4 and its like...damn. Makes me think about how much Dante loved bugging Vergil to spar as kids.
Like....not just because Dante loved to fight with his big brother, but because he looked up to him in a way. Despite the differences they've had, there's always been that respect as siblings. Vergil loved fighting him too, despite the annoyances.
Its just a fact he keeps smothered deep down, but the climax of VoV has him fully embrace it. Makes the ending of them sparring together in 5 all the more wholesome, imo.
Well....as wholesome as you can get with those two, LMAO.
Some Dante body headcanons of mine that I've had stewing in the brain for awhile.
I've tried to incorporate his experiences/state of mind up to this point, and maybe I'll do one for DMC2, 4 and 5.
When I refer to Sparda's hair, btw, I'm referring to the mane that man had in his older years according to the DMC5 portrait. I like to think both Dante and Vergil can grow it out naturally like that in general, but Dante has abit more of a headstart on it. :' P
Trying out a different coloring style for once along with a sprinkle of character design HCs I have for my faves....REALLY wanna draw them more down the line
