Celebrated Sulani Independence Day yesterday 🎆

Holy shit these people can party! Still hungover as I type this. It was so much fun though. I spent the day/night at the beach, drank a little too much, and enjoyed a crazy fireworks show. 

Overall, Independence Day was a success 👌🏻

Meet Teddy!

I thought it would be nice to have a little companion with me as I venture the world. He’s so smart and loyal! We already have an amazing bond. 

I also made a really good friend. His name is Aleki. He’s a Sulani local and is so fun and down to earth. 

I don’t mind being alone and doing things on my own. However, while you’re out experiencing new places, you are bound to meet tons of people and make friends. And I think that’s great! 

Plus, now I have Teddy. I’ll never be alone!

I’ve been spending my days at the beach, swimming in the crystal clear waters, and getting to know the wonderful people here. 

I’ve made friends! Met some of my neighbors and they’re awesome. They even came over for a bonfire. I had to be a good host and provide some entertainment. Have I mentioned I play guitar too? 

I definitely made the right decision.

Hey!

My girlfriend Victoria suggested I start a journal to document my adventures. Although I’m vlogging my days traveling the world, I guess a journal would be a good idea as well. I can write all my deep and darkest secrets! 

Anyways, my name is Cruz Santiago and I recently graduated with HONORS from Foxbury University with a degree in Economics. Yeah, I did that. Before graduating, I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do after graduation. Obviously, the traditional way is to start applying to jobs and hope to land one soon. Well you see, I’m not a traditional person so that route wasn’t really an option for me. At least not now. 

Ever since I was a little kid, I have always wanted to travel to as may places as I could. My father, who has since passed away (RIP Dad), would always take us camping in Granite Falls every summer. I’d say that was the beginning of my love for the great outdoors. It was great! And the older I got, the more I craved the outdoors and to experience all the different places that the world has to offer. 

I decided to pack my bags and hit the road! Remember when I said my family and I used to go camping back in the day? Well, we had this janky RV that we would take camping. It broke down on us a couple times, but it was perfect to us. My dad took such great care of it, despite its issues. I decided to fix a few minor things and make it my new home. 

I don’t really have a plan, but I think that’s the beauty of it. My mom was a bit apprehensive, but she understands that this is something I have always wanted to do, and we both agreed that now is the perfect time to do it. My dad loved, loved, LOVED the outdoors. That’s also where I get it from. I know he would 100% support me with this decision and would have cheered me on all the way. I still miss him so much. 

I really wanted Victoria (my gf) to join me on this adventure. Her mentality is in a different place right now. She really wants to pursue the whole social media influencer life back in the city. She didn’t feel like she could do that while traveling, and I completely understand. Although I’ll miss her, we plan on making this long distance thing work.

My first stop is Sulani! It’s the perfect location. It’s summertime and Sulani has the most beautiful beaches! It’s also not too far from home, only a few hours, so this first stop was a no brainer. I’ve only been here for 2 days, but I’m already loving it and the people. 

Well, I think this is it for my first entry. I hope my travels go well and I hope I don’t forget about this journal! I don’t think I will.
