I’ll never understand why anthropomorphic animal cartoons like Robin Hood and Zootopia will go to the trouble of creating character designs that are meant to be understood as “attractive” or even “sexy” to the human audience but explicitly avoid showing interspecies romances between anthropomorphic animals. Why is THAT weird but, like, trying to make rabbits recognizably sexy-coded to humans isn’t?

For the fourth time that week, Childe has the same dream.

It’s dark. Not abnormal for the time of night. His body feels heavy but his thoughts are light and hazy. His eyes are closed, but he feels sharply aware of everything going on around him, like a sheer veil clinging to the curves of the room. The scent of the local flowers drifts in through the windows, their names floating lazily just out of reach.

Childe feels an amber flash in the darkness.

A different smell now, sweet and mild, travels almost imperceptibly from his window to his bedside, and he knows who it is immediately. He strains to wake and meet the intruder. It never works, of course - probably for the better, as this isn’t (as he had initially assumed, on the first day) a spy or assassin. Cool fingers ghost over his neck down to his chest, pulling back the light silk sheets down to his waist. The sash on his sleeping robe is undone, and the night breeze caresses his body as he is bared.
