It's Showtime is the second live entertainment program in the Philippines to be broadcast in high-definition behind ASAP Natin 'To. The program is currently ABS-CBN's longest-running daily noontime variety show after surpassing the original run of MTB (1998–2005) in 2016.

Yaya Dub as well as other characters of Kalyeserye were created by Jenny Ferr #the creative head of Eat Bulaga![1] Although the term was coined by Joey de Leon.[4]

*Critique Paper of Tv show of Eat Bulaga*

This is my favorite tv show in afternoon I watch this every afternoon.

Filipinos, over the last century, have been exposed to several types of mass media. This is most prominent in the form of radio or television. This is present as well in print advertisements or even on social media. One of the explosions in recent Philippine pop culture is Eat Bulaga’s “KalyeSerye” due to the unexpected formation of a love team. Although the segment is very popular today, I wonder if it would have been extremely popular as well if it had different circumstances of audience and time.

Eat Bulaga is known as the longest running Philippine noontime show. It has been through different cultural changes from the late 1970s until today. It seems as if producers are able to follow the trends timely since they never had the highest ratings. The formation of the “Kalyeserye” segment sets a different tone, creating a new path for Philippine TV. This segment features Yaya Dub, after the discovery of an off-screen crush on one of the show’s hosts, Alden. However, they fail to interact in person due to “unforeseen” circumstances together with antics of Lola Nidora and other supporting characters. To compensate, they would communicate via video chat. We have been force-fed cliched shows over the years with repeated themes and slightly tweaked stories. “Kalyeserye” is a game changer, placing audience involvement as well as their ability to relate to the characters as key points. This show is successful at present. However, the main fuel is the promotions only possible through social media, which was not as prevalent as early as ten years ago. The hose needed to supply good thoughts out of Filipinos because of their poor surroundings have finally come in the form of the segment although it could have come earlier with different motifs and themes. Therefore, it is highly plausible that it would also be popular had it been released
