Dragon Witch Series ch.5
words: 821
warnings: angst, kidnapping, evil witch.

“Yes sir, thank you for your help.” Amara smiled sadly at the police officer on her couch.
“Of course, Claire. I’m sorry we couldn't be more help, but we did find a note that said he was moving, and he is 18.” he shook his head in shame. Amara stood and walked them to the door. Shifting back to her original form she turned in fury, storming up the stairs to Virgil's room. Throwing open the door, she stormed into the room. Looking around, she cursed. She taught him too well it seemed, as nothing pointed to where he could have gone.
“Just like his father,” she growled turning to leave the room. She made her way to the basement. Entering the room, she walked over to her throne and sat down. She pulled Virgil's phone out of her pocket. He had only left it so that he couldn't be traced that way. Of course, he wiped anything that could tell her where he went, too. Flicking through his apps, she saw Instagram. Clicking it, she looked at what he had been posting. Her eyes landed on a post he was tagged in, a wicked smile spread across her face as she formed a plan. If she couldn't find him she would have to lure him out.
A week, that's how long it took for her to take control of the town. It had been easy, despite what Virgil had told Patton in his letter the teen still trusted ‘Claire’. So when she invited him over to talk he didn't hesitate to agree. Once he was in the house it was all to simple to slip the potion into his drink. She watched as he blinks slower and eventually passed out on the couch. Casting a spell she trapped him in the orb hidden in her necklace. Once she had him she went to the town square talking about how they would bow to her if they ever wanted to see him alive again. She honestly expected more of a fight, but Patton’s mom had screamed and burst into tears. That alone had the town willing to do whatever it took to keep the teen save. By Friday she had not only taken over her tiny town but the other two towns surrounding it.
Virgil had been laying low in his new town, he had enrolled in school using a different name and moved into a tiny apartment. He finally had the life he wanted, he had escaped his mother the way his dad hadn't been able too. It had been a month since the last time he saw his friends. This is what he wanted, a life free of her yet he couldn't shake the funny feeling in his stomach that something horrible was happening to his friends. He ignored it, this wasn't the first time he had messed up his mother's plan, he figured that she would just do what she had done in the past and move to another town.
Virgil was awoken from his fitful sleep by loud banging on his door. Cautiously he approached it, peeking through the peephole. His face twisted in confusion as he pulled the door open to reveal Roman and Logan.
“W-what are you guys doing here?” he whispered, pulling his sleeves down over his hands. Logan looked at him for a moment as if he was shocked that it was really him.
“We need your help.” Roman rushed out after taking a deep breath. Virgil’s eyes flickered between them for a moment before he looked inside his house. Nodding he held the door open more to let them inside.
“D-did something happen?” he asked once they were seated. Roman and Logan glanced at each other as if trying to decide how to break the news to him.
“A couple of days after you left, Patton went missing. Of course, the town started looking for him. However, when we gathered in the town square before we split up, your mother stood to make an announcement. Everyone was expecting her to say that you had contacted her and that he was with you. Instead, she changed before our eyes, she turned into a witch. She said that she wanted to rule the world and that she was starting with our town, and that if we wanted to see Patton again we would help her. Virgil, you have to help us. Please... I just want my brother back.” Logan dissolved into tears at the end of his sentence. Virgil was frozen, guilt had hit him like a truck.
“I thought I was protecting everyone when I left. I didn't mean for anyone to get hurt.” Virgil whispered as he looked down.
“Will you help us? Please?” Roman begged the magical one. Virgil bites his lip as he nodded. Standing he motioned for them to follow him into his spare room.
“We need a plan.”

Dragon Witch Series ch.4
words: 1164
Warnings: Virgils mother is a bitch, potions, spells, angst
edited by: @demonickittykat
Virgil knew that Patton had to be catching onto his nervous behavior. He was jumpier, often going quiet and staring into space. Patton had been polite, simply snapping him out of his daydream and bringing him back to reality. The closer the party got, the more Virgil’s anxiety spiked.
“Hey Verge, you want to go see a movie today?” Patton asked as he walked up to Virgil’s locker. Virgil jumped, having been pulled out o his thoughts, before smiling at Patton.
“Yeah, just no horror movies.” Virgil would have loved to go to a horror movie, to have Patton cling to him as if he could protect him from the monsters in the world. However, he doesn't think that he could handle that. He limited his affection towards Patton to strictly platonic. He couldn't let anything hold him back from doing what he has planned.
Patton gave Virgil a look as if he was reading him, before he smiled and nodded. Looping his arm with Virgil’s, he pulled him towards the cafeteria, chatting about how Logan and Roman had reacted to a prank he pulled on them. Virgil sat beside his friend and stared at him. Patton was the best thing to happen to him since his mom. His mind began to drift back to the fateful day.
*Virgil didn't know what was happening. His dad had come into his room and woken him up, telling the little boy that they were going on an adventure and that he needed to only take what he thought was important. Being only 3 years old, Virgil had stuffed his favorite blanket, jacket, and teddy bear in his backpack before meeting his dad in the living room. His mother wasn't in the living room and when Virgil questioned his dad about this he was simply told that his mother was too busy to join. Virgil had been relieved, his mother was not that nice of a woman and he always hated to be in the same room as her. He fell asleep in the car and slept for the whole ride. When he woke up he was in a house he didn't recognize.
“Verge, I know this is confusing, but you're going to stay here with a friend of mine for a while. I have to deal with something and then I’ll come back and get you and we’ll go on that adventure!” his dad explained while smiling at him. Virgil nodded clutching his teddy bear to his chest. The nice lady introduced herself and showed Virgil to his room. After a minute of unpacking, he made his way back to the living room to say goodbye to his dad. The older man squeezed him tightly before smiling at him. Then he hugged the woman, thanking her for doing this for him. Before he left he slipped her an envelope.
“In case I don't make it back. If I’m not back in a month assume I’m dead. If I don't make it give this to him, please. He deserves to know.”
-------------
Virgil opened the door quietly as he made his way into his house. It was well after midnight and he didn't want to wake his mother. He entered the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle. He became lost in thought as he walked to his room and laid on the bed. It was technically his birthday, and Patton had insisted that Virgil, Roman, Logan and himself stay up until midnight so that they could be the first to wish Virgil a happy birthday. Logan passed out at 10, Roman following behind at 11. Patton had slumped against Virgil, nearly asleep himself but refusing to sleep. In fact, when the clock hit 12 he snuggled sleepily into Virgil’s arms and whispered happy birthday before his eyes slipped closed. Virgil had stared at the sleeping boy for an hour before he detangled himself and went home, leaving a note to say his mother had called him. Virgils plan was already in motion, it would happen today, but he couldn't just leave Patton without an explanation. Sitting up he moved to his desk. Grabbing a pen and some paper he began to write three letters. Roman and Logan’s were simple, he thanked them for being his friend, he apologized for leaving, he promised that one day they would understand why he had to do it. Pattons was harder to write. He wrote a full page explaining that Patton was the first person to ever really care about him besides for his mom. He explained to Patton everything that had happened to him. He apologized for leaving and confessed that, had the situation been different, he would have loved to be more than Patton’s friend. By the time he finished pattons letter the sun had risen in the sky and the paper was stained with tears. As he put the letter in the envelope he paused. Lifting his shaky hand he pulled off the necklace he always wore. The only thing he had that connected him to his father, to the woman who risked her life to save his. Carefully he placed it in the envelope.
The whole town attended the party at the lake, and one by one they all wished Virgil a happy birthday. They presented him with the food they made, as he had requested they bring food instead of gifts. He smiled and laughed, enjoying the last few moments he would have with these kind-hearted people. It was when the sky darkened that he put his plan into motion. He gathered Patton, Logan, and Roman, and handed them their letters before explaining that they couldn't open them until they went home. They had all nodded and went back to the party.
“Hey Patton I have to go make a call real quick, I’ll be right back okay?” he spoke, Patton nodded happily. Gulping Virgil pulled him into a hug.
“Thank you for the party, Patton… thank you for everything. Thank you for giving me a chance.” he whispered in the older ones ear. Patton pulled back with a chuckle.
“Verge, you sound like you’re saying goodbye!” Patton had a playful undertone that sent a pang of guilt to Virgil’s heart.
“Im just really emotional today. Anyway gotta go call, I’ll see you later Pat.” Patton giggled and nodded, bouncing over to Logan at the food table. Virgil looked at the three people that, in such a short time, had changed his life. Turning, he walked through the crowd and into the woods. Pulling the little jar out of his pocket he looked at the purple shimmering liquid that was in it. The potion he had spent the last week brewing. If he drank it he would disappear without a trace. Taking a deep breath he pulled his phone out of his pocket and left it on the ground by a tree. Opening the bottle, he swallowed the contents in a gulp and was gone.

Dragon Witch Series ch.3
Warnings: Something about the mother? What is she on about? Manipulative, maybe abusive? Idk what she's like.
Words: 994
------
“So, Virgil, since were in agreement that we are friends-” Patton began on the bus the next day, Virgil turning to look at him, still hesitant to fully acknowledge the fact. “-I think we should get to know one another! Like what's your favorite food? Color? Middle name? Sexuality? Okay, maybe that last one is a little personal, but you get my point.” Patton continued, the smile on his face radiating kindness.
Virgil paused, thinking about it before responding. "My favorite food is chocolate, I love purple, and my middle name is Thomas. I'm also gay, and yeah, it’s personal, but who cares.” Virgil turned to look out the window again.
"That’s cool! Um, my favorite food is cookies, my middle name is Joan and I'm gay as well. Maybe that's why we clicked.” Patton nudged Virgil’s shoulder. Logan turned, shifting in his seat to look at the pair.
"Roman and I will be hanging out at a movie tonight, if you two would like to join” he said before he turned back around. Patton looked happily at Virgil, who nodded slightly. He would do anything to stay away from the presence of his mother.
Science class went fairly well, as Virgil couldn't help but smile a few times as Patton spent the whole hour cracking corny joke after joke. It was near the end that the teacher called for everyone's attention.
"We will be starting a project today. Your desk buddy will be your partner. You must conduct an experiment that showcases the scientific method. Nothing too dangerous please.” With that he began handing out papers. Patton started jotting down ideas for what they could do causing Virgil to smile. Maybe just maybe he could actually have a friend.
The movie they were watching was shit really. Well, to Virgil the scary movie had bogus effects and the plot was cliché. The only good part was the music. And maybe it was the way Patton was clinging to his arm. Maybe it was Patton hiding his face in Virgil’s shoulder. Maybe just maybe it was because for once, Virgil felt like the hero. Leaving the theater was sad because Patton wasn’t pressed against him anymore. It didn't occur to him yet that he was getting attached.
"Would you like to hang out again?” Logan asked, the question being pointed at Virgil, who smiled a real smile for the first time in years.
"Yeah, I'd like that.” Logan returned the smile. Shaking Virgil’s hand he and Roman disappeared into his car, driving away. Patton smiled, lacing his hand with Virgil’s and swinging them as they walked. It didn't occur to either that that was very romantic looking to outsiders. Suddenly Patton stopped, also pulling Virgil to a stop, and wrapping his arms around the younger without any warning.
"I’m glad that you gave me a chance, Verge. I know it's still early, but I'm glad to see you looking happy.” It was his words that flipped the switch that locked the dark Virgil away. Someone was happy to be around him? What was this feeling in his heart? And why did he like it?
Returning home, Virgil couldn't stop smiling. Nothing - not even his wicked mother - could ruin his mood today. Or so he thought.
"Glad to see you’re gaining the trust of that boy. He’ll be easier to control when we take over the world.” Instantly reality slapped Virgil in the face. He couldn't get too close to too many people. Hell, he couldn't even be anything more than a friend to Patton. His heart sank; he had begun to see Patton as more than just a friend, maybe even a potential lover. No, he couldn't do that to him. Without a word in reply to his mother he entered his room and began to work on his half of the project.
Virgil knew it: he was screwed. He was beginning to blush every time Patton looked at him and hell, how had he not noticed how handsome Patton really was?! At first glance he was handsome, but upon closer inspection he seemed to have an aura about him that made him even more attractive. And damn, did it work. They were at the lake, which was the only slightly large body of water in town, so it was a popular destination. As they sat by the water, they worked on their project and watched people set up for the party that night. Virgil had agreed to go, as anytime with Patton was treasured. He had a fleeting thought about how alarmingly fast they had grown close to each other. Still, none the less, he could let go of his worries when he was with him and he enjoyed that. He briefly heard Patton yell “SMILE” and then a click. Surprised, he looked to the older, causing Patton to laugh.
"Chillin at the lake with Verge.” Patton spoke as he typed. Roman plopped down beside him, followed by Logan, and Virgil smiled at them as well. It was easy, now that he didn’t have to be rude all the time, to make friends with Patton’s brother and his boyfriend. They were just as kind and sweet as Patton himself.
"So Verge, a little bird told me your birthday is coming up.” Virgil shook his head with a smile. He had learned quite early that Roman had eyes and ears everywhere. He knew everything about everyone.
"Yeah, in about a month actu-”
“We have to throw you a party!” Patton yelled before Virgil finished speaking. Virgil shook his head.
"I haven't celebrated my birthday in 13 years.” His voice was soft. Images of his real mom drifted through his head. He couldn't help a weak smile. He zoned out as his friends chatted excitedly about his party. Virgil frowned, smiling quickly to cover it. He knew what he had planned for his birthday, and something told him his friends wouldn't like it.

Christmas
A/N: sorry it's so short! My first few stories are always short because its when I get a feel for the characters. This is a request for @eat-moar-veggis and @ask-villegas-sides. Hope you like it!
Words: 374
-------
Lev was the first one up on Christmas day, he had to make sure that the day was perfect for the other sides. He woke up early to make sure that his gifts were in the place where they needed to be and that the living area was set up. A couple of hours later he was joined by Flint. Together they sat in silence, Lev making breakfast and Flint reading a book on the couch. Soon Reese stumbled down the stairs, followed by a half-asleep Beckett following after him. They all moved to the table, eating and joking.
“Did you know the Japanese name for Japan is ‘Nihon’ or ‘Nippon’ which means ‘sun-origin’?” Flint asked as he looked around the table. Lev smiled at him as he took a bite from his breakfast before speaking.
“I didn't know that! Is that in the book you've been reading on Japan?” He asked. Flint nodded, continuing to eat his breakfast.
“Thank you, Lev, for making breakfast!” Beckett mumbled quietly. Reese jumped from his seat collecting the dirty dishes from everyone and setting them in the sink. Turning back around he began ushering everyone into the living room.
“Time for the gift exchange!”
--------------
Lev’s gifts to the others were fairly simple; he had either baked or bought them all their favorite snacks. A new jar of Crofters for Flint, another pint of ice cream for Reese, and barkTHINS for Beckett. Flint had got them each a book that he believed fit their personalities. A book of dad jokes for Lev, The History of Music for Beckett, and Dear Evan Hansen: The Novel for Reese. Reese performed a song for everyone while Beckett had made everyone a playlist of songs he believed they would enjoy. Everything had been simple but they all agreed it was the best Christmas they have had in a long time.
------------
The next day Flint was sitting on the couch with headphones in listening to the playlist Beckett had made him. Beckett was in his room listening to music while he read the book Flint had given him and snacking on barkTHINS. Reese and Lev where in the kitchen baking more goodies while playing Dear Evan Hansen through the speakers.

Uber Please pt.2
Roman and Virgil hit it off pretty right? Virgil thought so, but why then does Roman keep canceling their first date.
Words: 1248
Warnings: angst with a fluffy ending.
Edited by @wimallidge
------------------------
Virgil sighed as he looked out the window, watching as people darted to their cars to avoid the downpour. The weather seemed to match his mood, turning he looked back to his laptop. He pulled up facebook and clicked on Logan's name.
V: hey meet me at the cafe after your class?
L: ok
Clicking off of facebook he returned to working on his final assignment. He clicked at the screen willing the words to come to him. Groaning he laid his head on the table. It seemed that his creativity had left him with all the drama that had been happening.
---
“Hey, Ro, I know im late for our date I was working on my final assignment and you know how I can be when I actually focus” Virgil spoke as he rushed around his apartment looking for his shoes. He let out a noise of triumph upon finding them, noticing that Roman was quite he paused.
“Ro? What's wrong?” he asked voice full of concern.
“Nothings wrong per se. Its just...the show I auditioned for called me back! But I would have to go in tonight to understudy the show until I take over. I’m so sorry!” Roman said. Virgil paused in pulling on his shoes. He pushed down the disappointment that bubbled to the surface.
“Ro! That's great!” he laughed as he sat back on the couch.
“Raincheck?” Roman asked in a hopeful voice. Virgil agreed with a smile.
---
“I don't know Logan. The first time it made sense. He had just gotten cast! Now it just seems like he's making up excuses.” Virgil sighed as he looked into his drink. It was his 5th coffee of the day.
“Logically it seems that if he keeps promising the date will happen then it will happen. If he had lost interest he would tell you or as you call it ‘ghost’ you.” Logan replied, not looking up from his textbook. Virgil huffed as he looked out the window thinking about what Logan said.
“I guess,”
------------
“Hey Ro, im on my way to pick you up for lunch!” Virgil spoke as he climbed into his car.
“About that… the cast took me to lunch today. It was a bonding exercise! Im sorry Verge.” Roman explained, the voices of his cast member in the background.
“Oh, okay I'll just… ask Patton if would like to go with me.” Virgil concluded as he rested his head on the seat.
“Yeah! That's a good idea! You guys can bond!” Roman said his voice full of happiness. Virgil heard someone call out to Roman in the background and sighed.
“Bye Roman.”
---------
Virgil was in his room looking at the suit he had laid out for tonight and sighed. He had to go, it was his graduation after all. And the fancy dinner his parents had planned after couldn't be missed. His family and friends would be there but he couldn't help but wonder if maybe roman would raincheck him again. Shaking his head he moved to the bathroom attached to his room to shower. No point in dwelling on the past.
--------------
“Hey, Virgil! I have tonight free! I suppose to relax before my big debut! Want to come over and watch movies?” Romans' voice carried through the phone. Virgil was silent, he wondered why he had even answered.
“I can't tonight I have too much homework. And I have to study. Finals you know.” his voice was dead and a small part of him hoped that roman noticed. That small part of him begged for the older man to notice, to call Virgil on his bluff and plead for him to come over. Roman simply replied with an ‘okay, study hard,’ Crushing any hope Virgil had in his chest. He looked at the now silent phone and cursed as a single tear fell down his face.
----------------
Virgil looked out at the crowd as he walked across the stage. This was it, his future truly started now. He saw his parents standing in the front row his mother crying tears of joy, Patton was beside them, he gave Virgil a pity smile as his eyes landed on the empty seat he reserved for roman. Smiling through the pain he walked off the stage and back to his seat to finish the ceremony.
---------
“Hello, is this Virgil Anxtion?” The caller asked. Virgil didn't look up from his laptop as he said yes.
“I’m Remy Travis, and I'd like to talk to you about the script you sent in.” The words caused Virgil to jump tossing his computer to the side.
“To Love Again?” Virgil asked hoping that this wasn't a mistake.
“Yes, it's a neat little play. My board of advisors liked it so much I just had to call you myself.” for the first time since he graduated Virgil felt hope well in his chest.
“Let's talk business shall we?”
--------
“Logan it's not going to happen please stop looking behind you.” Virgil pleaded. Logan turned to look at him adjusting his glasses.
“Virgil you as a playwriter should be the one hoping that our knights in shining armor come chasing after us as we board the plane to leave!” he looked back at the door as he finished his sentence. Logan and Patton had grown quite close in the last few months but when logan agreed to go with Virgil it had caused a problem in their relationship. The pair stayed silent as they boarded the plane.
“HOLD THE DOOR!” A voice yelled as the flight attendant began to close the plane. Both Logan and Virgil perked up as they waited for the last passenger. Logan jumped from his seat when Patton crossed through the door embracing him. Virgil leaned back in his seat and refused to acknowledge the sinking feeling in his chest.
Virgil had been in New York for two months now, his play was a huge hit taking off as soon as it hit Broadway. Logan and Patton both found jobs in the city and their relationship was going strong. It seemed everyone was happy with their new life. Virgil didn't tell his friends that he felt the tug of a single string connecting him to the city he grew up in. No matter how many dates he went on, how many interviews he did. Watching the show every night prompted to memories to resurface. No matter what he did he couldn't help but dream about what he could have had with Roman.
“Hello, there stranger. Lovely day isn't it?” Virgil spun around at the all to familiar prince voice.
“Roman what are you doing in New York!” he questioned in shock.
“Well, I planned to run after your plane two months ago and tell you how much I wanted what we had! But I learned when Patton and I made it to the desk, that I hadn't been paid for the week yet. So Patton made it to the plane and I didn't. Im a lot late but im here to say, Virgil Morgan Anxtion, please go on a date with me?” Roman asked as he fell to his knees. They were in the middle of central park and people had begun to stare. Virgil didn't care however as he laughed and nodded his head yes.
“Pizza?” Roman asked as he stood back up. He held out his hand and bowed. Virgil smiled as he placed hand in Romans.
“Pizza.”

Roman was sitting in his room staring at the wall, looking at the pictures of all of his friends. They were all smiling and roman used to think that there would never be a time looking at those pictures made him sad. Now all he sees is the lies that each one held. He couldn't help but feel like a fool as he looked at his now ex’s face in the photo. Anger filled him in a spur of the moment and he stood dashing to the wall he ripped down every picture that had his face on it. The red he was seeing faded as he looked down at the now crumpled and ripped memories. A tear began streaming down his face once again and he leaned against the wall. Sliding down slowly he looked at the roof, covering his mouth to hold in the sobs. Stupid Logan, Stupid Heart --------
Roman held his books to his chest as he entered his new school, this was his chance at a fresh start after everything he had been through at his old school. He smiled at everyone who looked at him as he walked down the hall and to the office to get his schedule. “Hi! Im Roman Princeton! I moved here from New York and I was told to come in here for my schedule?” roman asked the older woman behind the desk. With a sigh, she looked up from the book she was reading and turned to her computer. The silence had roman bouncing lightly on his feet. She tapped a few buttons before pushing away from the wooden desk and heading to the printer. “Here, im calling for a fellow senior to show you around the school. Sit in that chair, don't talk or fidget and wait for him to get here.” her voice was harsh and Roman wondered briefly how she got a job in a school. Turning he walked quickly to the seat and sat down to look over his schedule. A few agonizing minutes later the door opened to a teen in a bright blue polo with a gray cardigan over his shoulders. Roman smiled as he stood fixing his red jacket. “Hi! Im Patton, you must be Roman! Come with me” after a light handshake Roman was following the cheerful lad down the hallway. He pointed out every class on Romans schedule, explained the lunch routine, and showed him where the gym, library, and lunchroom was. “And if you ever get lonely just sit with me and my friends! We don't bite. Well, Virgil might just don't touch him until he's used to you!” Patton explained as he came to a stop in front of a group of lockers. Roman laughed assuming the other boy was joking until he saw the serious look on his face. “This is your locker-” whatever else Patton was going to say was cut off by the bell and the student filling the hallway. “-see you at lunch roman.” ----------- It had been nearly three months since the beginning of school and roman had officially become one of the ‘popular’ kids. Meaning he was seen with the famous trio and quickly became like a god in his school. Patton, Virgil, and Logan had accepted him with open arms. And roman learned that they ruled the school, but as far as he had seen they didn't abuse that power. And slowly he felt a bud growing in his heart, one that he helped grow instead of squishing. Roman had a crush and unlike before he allowed himself to fall. ------------- It had been 4 months since he had come to this school and he couldn't have been happier. He admitted his feelings to logan and the boy had returned them! Roman had friends and a boyfriend and was so well loved that nobody dared to start rumors about him. In his eyes, he had it all, until the day that a boy he had never seen before pulled him into the bathroom and locked the door. “Look I know you probably have no idea who I am but im trying to help you.” the boy spoke his face hidden in his hoodie. “Help me? What could I possibly need help with?” roman had asked confused. The boy shook his head as he reached into his backpack and pulled out an envelope. “Take my advice. The trio, they are not who you think they are. They are bad people and you don't need that in your life. Take it from a survivor.” with that he unlocked the door, shoving the envelope in Romans hand and disappeared into the lunchtime traffic. Roman looked at the envelope before shoving it into his bag. Roman had forgotten all about the awkward encounter until he reached home. Walking into his room he threw his bag on the bed forgetting that he didn't close it. His books spilled across the bed and onto the floor with a thud. Sighing he walked over to pick them up when he saw the envelope sticking out of the opening of his bag. Curiosity won as he reacher for it pulling it out and opening it. Inside the white package was pictures, pictures of logan with another boy. They looked younger maybe around 16, and it occurred to roman that these were old. Confused as to why he looked at the next picture. Unlike the first one where they were cuddled up in this one logan looked distant. The next three were screenshots of text messages. Each one shows logan becoming more and more distant from the boy. The last one showing only a single message from Logan. ‘ there never was a we. I prefer to look for love and we don't have that. We never did’ Roman laid the picture on his bed as he looked at the wall where his pictures hung. In every one he and his friends were cuddled up, laughing and smiling. Shaking his head he picked them up and shoved them back in the envelope. Opening his closet he slipped them in a box sitting on the top shelf. “Logan may not have loved you, but he loves me.” ------------- “Can you believe it! I got into acting school! I never thought this day would come!” roman cheered as he and Virgil walked down the hall. All around them were friendly faces except for the boy from that day in the bathroom. He looked at roman with pity, and he was ignored by the duo. “Your going to acting school, I got accepted to my dream school, Patton is in a cool summer program. The only person left is Logan. And he applied to all ivy league schools. You know Harvard, Yale, Stanford.” verge replied with a slight tilt to his lips. “Everything is going our way, Virgil! Nothing can stop us now!” --------- School had ended and with that summer had begun. Roman began to notice that logan was drifting away from him. All he could think about was the pictures still sitting in his closet. That couldn't happen to him, could it? With a sigh, he called Logan. His heart dropped as he heard a giggle come through the phone when he answered. There was a hushing whisper in the background causing the giggles to stop. “Sorry Ro that was my new roommate we're bonding before we move into the Harvard dorms,” Logan explained. Roman noticed that he was slightly breathless, and dread filled him. “Are you still coming to spend the weekend with me?” he asked hiding the pain in his voice. There was silence for a moment before logan hummed. “Yeah baby ill be there.” and then the line went dead. “Lo?” roman whispered into the dark but the only response was silence. ---------- Roman had been pacing his room floor all day, roman had said he'd be there hours ago and there was still no sign of him. Again Romans thoughts went back to the pictures in his closet. Hearing his door open he snapped his head to look in at his bedroom door. When it opened he moved to hug Logan stopping short. His heart broke at the sight in front of him. Logan was wearing his signature outfit. But the buttons on the shirt were undone and the tie was loose. Upon looking closer he noticed that logans neck was cover in red bruises. Tears filled Roman's eyes as he stepped away. “Logan please tell me this isn't what I think it is,” he begged. His life had just gotten good and now he was watching the facade crumble. The other boy didn't answer causing roman to look at the ground. “Was any of this real to you?” the words were quite and again they were met with silence. “Was I ever actually a choice to you? Or did you enjoy stringing me along until you got what you actually wanted?” roman looked at Logan. There wasn't a trace of regret on his face. “I should have listened to that boy, I should have known you were too good to be true!” he ripped off the bracelet logan had given him for their 5 month anniversary. He threw it at the other watching as Logan caught it with ease. He slipped it into his pocket as he turns and walked out, not a word spoken at all. Roman rushed to grab his phone dialing pattons number. The call didn't go through the voice telling him that he couldn't call a number the blocked him. Frowning he tried virgils number before it hit him. The boy had said that the trio wasn't who they seemed to be. Meaning that when he lost logan he lost them all. Blinking away the tears roman sat on his bed and stared at the wall holding their pictures. Maybe he had been blind to it at first, but now all the pieces fit. Patton had to intro him to logan. Virgil was the one who pushed him to confess his crush. They had it planned the whole time. Roman stared at the wall and for the first time in nearly a year, he wished he could just disappear.
