A slight addendum to this post. Nothing drastically reversing the entire statement, but I’ve had time to cool down and I feel slightly different about it.

I’ll start off with saying I struggle a lot with finding a gray area on things. The cast is not the devil incarnate, but still a few of them have done things I am not comfortable with or are disappointed in, alongside the fandom space having its own problems as well. In general, I’ve just been very stressed lately from this and other things in my personal life.

I am still going to try taking a lot of my dndads art wips and turning the concepts into art for other characters, but I feel that I rushed into my previous statement in saying that I’m removing myself entirely from dndads besides Sparrow. I do need to step away from it all for a while, though I’m not sure how long. Essentially, I need time away from dndads and to be more of an ‘artist that likes dndads’ rather than a ‘dndads artist’, as I have mostly been for the past two years. I’m hoping all of this makes sense as I am not the best with words at times, but to summarize I’m adjusting my previous statement a bit to say that I don’t want to disavow dndads entirely as if it’s the worst thing in the world. This show has its many faults, but is still something a lot of my friends and myself have some form of interest in. Nevertheless, I need to give myself some room and space from it.

Do you have any screenshots of the Twitter threads you mentioned in your earlier post? Everyone just keeps linking back to Twitter threads with no summary of what's in them, and everyone who doesn't have Twitter (myself included) ends up locked out of them

I’m sorry for this answer but that is a lot of screenshots to compile and I’ve been stressed out enough from this situation. I provided all the links because it would be easier than having to explain everything yet another time as I’ve done so for multiple people. In short summary as said on my other post: Beth fakeclaimed a system and gave a lackluster apology, Anthony has multiple incidents of calling fans pedos as a ‘joke’, and Freddie has been frequently talking and joking about generative AI while also apparently using it once as well. For any further context of actually seeing these posts and discussions, I welcome anyone else to take the time to provide screenshots of everything from the posts linked here, but I’d like to start being able to move away from this all. Again, I’m sorry for this answer but I am severely emotionally drained right now from this and other things in my life at the moment.

I will add that in Freddie’s case, I did have a mutual post about how he tried using generative AI during a live show vip talk, but the post has since been deleted due to nerves from the past few days and all that’s happened. Which I agree, it has been emotionally taxing over on Twitter, so I don’t fault them for deleting their post on that.

A clarification on my future artwork:

I have a lot of dndads related wips but do not feel that great about finishing them. There have been too many issues I’ve taken up with the fandom AND the cast of dndads and as such I’m deciding to exist the fandom a bit compared to how deeply involved I’ve been for the past two years. I’ve also since ended my Patreon subscription as I cannot in good faith continue to monetarily support them.

I’ll be reusing my old concepts while inserting original characters separate from the pod. The only character I can see myself making any future art of is Sparrow, both for finishing everyone’s designs for her they gave me on twt and also yume/general art since I have a deep emotional attachment to her. Nicky may be there as well because of Lovesong and Mickrow (yumeship name for us three). This is all to say if you see any art from me that looks like maybe it used to be dndads? There’s a good chance of that. But I’ll be adjusting designs of the characters and labeling them OC as I don’t want to draw directly of the show anymore. Some concepts might be unsalvageable to make not dndads but I’m going to try.

I have a lot of designs for the show and I cherish them all but I can’t see myself posting personal-made art of those characters in the future. I don’t want to support this show anymore in the way I have until now.

For anyone who was still interested in the sticker sheets of my 5th anni stained glass art, I can no longer see myself going through with the production of those. I’ve been waiting since then to have a moment where I could find the time and money to invest into selling those, but unfortunately I no longer see myself doing so.

As for Lovesong Week, I’m unsure if I will actually host it. The prompts have been set, but I don’t see myself hosting a specific week for it on tumblr. I may just post it as a whenever you want prompts list and leave it like that. The ship is still precious to me but I am still iffy on continuing to interact with the fandom at all outside of my friends.

I’m glad to have become something of a well known artist in this community as I’ve had others state to me, but I can no longer be a part of such an unsafe environment for my friends and myself. I think that’s everything!
