Emily wasn’t having a great day. Actually, that’s putting it mildly—her whole week had been a nightmare. The new case had brought them to Boston, and they’d been chasing this suspect since the beginning of the week.
It had been five days since she last saw her wife, Y/N, and their daughter Olivia. And all she really needed right now was to be in her wife’s arms. But she couldn’t—not yet, anyway. She had a meeting to get through first.
With a heavy sigh, Emily checked her phone for the time and realized it was way too late to still be at the office. She got up from her chair, grabbed her stuff, and headed to the garage, swallowing the huge lump in her throat. Not because she was sad, but because she was exhausted.
A few minutes later, she was finally home—and was instantly met with the chaos in the living room. Olivia’s toys were scattered everywhere, and an open book was on the couch, clearly left there by her wife. She was home. Finally.
Emily went straight upstairs, took a long shower, and then peeked into her daughter’s room—only to find the bed empty. So she headed to her own room and there they were—her two favorite people in the world. Y/N and Liv, cuddled up and fast asleep. That’s when Emily finally let go and cried.
“Babe? You okay?” Y/N mumbled sleepily.
“I am now,” Emily whispered back.
She climbed into bed, wrapped herself around her wife, kissed Olivia on the head and Y/N on the lips.
Work took so much from Emily. She constantly felt like she was never enough—not for Y/N, not for Olivia. But she tried. She really tried to be a good mom and wife. Her biggest fear was becoming her own mother.
“You’re not her, baby,” Y/N said softly, lacing their fingers together like she could hear Emily’s thoughts spinning. “You never were, and you never will be. You might come home late and be gone for days, but it’s for something bigger.”
She turned to face her. “Liv thinks you’re a superhero who catches bad guys—and you know what? She’s right. You are our superhero.”
Emily smiled. “What did I do to deserve this much love?”
“You just exist.”
And in that quiet moment, in the stillness of the night, Emily realized—she had everything she’d ever wanted. Love, a home, a family.

Hey guys, college is taking up a lot of my time, and so is work, but to distract myself, I’d love it if you could send me some fanfic ideas to write. I can't promise to post quickly, but when I get some free time, I’ll post!
The characters I like to write are: Emily Prentiss, Olivia Benson, JJ, any character from Grey’s Anatomy, Alex Cabot, and also characters from Supergirl

Women’s Day had never been a particularly remarkable date for you. Maybe in passing—social media posts, a few discussions in class about gender equality, the occasional deep dive into feminist psychology.
But this year was different.
This year, you were spending it alongside her. SSA Emily Prentiss. Your girlfriend.
Even after months of being together, the title still felt surreal. Dating Emily had been like stepping into another world—a world of sharp intelligence, unwavering confidence, and the kind of presence that could quiet a room without a single word. And yet, somehow, she had chosen you. You, with your self-doubt and your endless worries about whether you were good enough.
The two of you had signed up to volunteer at a local youth center for Women's Day. You had jumped at the opportunity, eager to gain experience working with children in crisis, a path you desperately wanted to follow in your future career. Emily, always supportive, had immediately agreed to come along.
And now, here you were, standing awkwardly near the refreshment table, gripping your coffee like it was an anchor. Your hands shook slightly, and you silently willed yourself to calm down. Emily, ever observant, noticed. She always did.
"You okay?" she asked, her voice low and warm.
You glanced up at her. She was dressed casually—jeans, a fitted blazer over a soft blouse, hair falling effortlessly around her shoulders. She looked at ease, like she belonged anywhere she chose to be. Meanwhile, you felt… well, out of place.
"Yeah," you lied, then sighed. "No."
Her expression softened. She stepped closer, her hand resting lightly on your back. Not enough to overwhelm you, but enough to ground you. "Talk to me."
You swallowed. "I just… I really want to do this right. I want to help. But what if I say the wrong thing? What if I make things worse?"
Emily tilted her head, considering you in that way she always did—like she was seeing straight through to the core of you. It was both terrifying and comforting. "Do you think I always know the right thing to say?" she asked.
You blinked. "You?"
She smirked slightly. "Yes, me" Then she sighed, her fingers tracing small circles against your back. "I can’t tell you how many times I’ve second-guessed myself after talking to a victim. Or a witness. Or a child who’s been through something unimaginable. Sometimes, there is no right thing to say. Sometimes all you can do is be there."
You bit your lip. "But what if just being there isn’t enough?"
"It is," she said simply. "More than you know."
Her words settled into you, soothing some of the anxiety buzzing in your chest. You weren’t sure you believed them completely, but if Emily Prentiss thought you had something to offer, maybe—just maybe—you did.
Still, doubt lingered. "I just feel like… I’ll never be as strong as you."
Emily exhaled through her nose, a mix between a laugh and a sigh. She turned slightly, her fingers tilting your chin up so you had to look at her. "You see me as strong," she murmured, searching your face.
"But do you know what I see?" Your throat went dry.
"What?"
"I see someone with so much heart," she said, brushing her thumb across your jaw. "Someone who cares so deeply that it scares her. Someone who wants to help people—not for recognition, not for validation, but because it’s just who she is." Your breath hitched. "You’re already stronger than you think," she continued, her voice soft yet steady. "And I love you for it."
The words sent a warmth through you, replacing the doubt, at least for now. You leaned into her touch, exhaling slowly.
"I love you too." Emily smiled, squeezing your waist gently before pulling away. "Come on," she said, her tone lighter now.
"Let’s go make a difference today."
And with her by your side, you finally believed you could.

title: out of the woods.
tw: none.
summary: Emily misunderstood the signs.
— You should go with him.
— What? — JJ asked.
— You two make a beautiful couple. — Emily said, her voice was shaky when she said it and she hoped the blonde didn't notice.
It was no surprise to anyone on the team, except JJ, that Emily is in love with JJ. Since the first day she stepped foot in the FBI and the blonde came out of her way to help her. But with this new detective that they had to work together in New Orleans, for the past 6 months, it messed up any and all chances Emily had with the blonde.
Since he showed up JJ, at least every fifteen days, or whenever the team had a case near New Orleans, Emily covered for JJ's outings to the city, or took care of the youngest's plants when she traveled. And she did it with a smile on her face, or rather, a fake smile, she would do anything for Jennifer, even if it hurt her heart.
So, seeing them so close in this case, which unfortunately one of the victims was Will's friend, it was impossible not to notice how close they were, and also the complicity they both had. And that broke the brunette's heart.
— Emi... honey, you misunderstood. — JJ turned around so she could be face to face with the woman.
"What did I misunderstand, Jay?" Emily asked.
— Will and I. — The blonde took the water that was in her then-friend's hand and put it on the table that was there in the police station's reception. — We're just friends.
— Friends? — Emily asked, surprised. — What do you mean? And your outings to his city, your meetings?
— Meetings between friends, Em. — She gave a sideways smile. — Will helped me understand what was going on in my head, helped me understand what that feeling was that I had been feeling, denying myself since I was a teenager. Growing up in a small town hurts your heart and makes you feel like what you feel is wrong.
Still in shock, Emily didn't notice the blonde's closeness.
Don't get me wrong, Emily was in love with her, but she swore until the day she died that JJ was a straight woman and that all these feelings she felt for Jareau would be temporary. So, it was easier to believe that she and Will were together, because that way her passion for her best friend would pass.
— I'm in love with you, Emily. —  She intertwined their fingers and caressed the brunette's face. — And, my God, I think I've been since the day you walked through the doors of the Bureau. — She laughed. — And Will helped me understand that and helped me tell you what I feel for you before it was too late, and I hope it isn't.
Emily said nothing, she raised her hands towards JJ and held her face, laughing still in disbelief at what she had just heard, Prentiss looked into JJ's eyes as if asking for permission to move forward, and when she saw the green light, she pressed her lips together.
— I love you Jennifer, I think I've loved you since the moment I first saw you. — they smiled, — you're the first thought that comes to my mind when I wake up and the last one when I go to bed.
— I love you, Emy.
They were so absorbed in their own little world and bubble of love that they didn't notice the team standing behind them watching everything, everyone with beautiful smiles on their faces, their girls were finally together and everyone knew that the love and affection they had for each other would overcome any challenge that might appear in the future, because their love, before being a romantic love, was a love of friendship, companionship and trust.
The rest of the world was black and white, but we were screaming in color.
— It's good that they're together, — said Hotch, who had tears in his eyes, which didn't go unnoticed by his companions and which later became a joke among them, the proud "father" of his daughters.
