been a while since I've thought about my boys but one of my random modern au headcanons is that laios does not wear corduroy pants. that's just not who he is. it's jeans and khakis all the way. his boyfriend on the other hand, has got a bunch of corduroys all in different colors, like kabru is a pinterest ootd and laios is next to him dressed in some graphic tee eyesore. I love him to bits.

My personal headcanon for Labru is that at some point Laios had a huge crush on Shuro in the past because he thought they were such good friends and that maybe Shuro would accept his feelings. He was going to confess one day when Shuro cut him off -not even realizing Laios' was in the middle of confessing- and admitted his feelings for Falin.

Fast forward past when Shuro admits he never even thought of them as friends, so Laios' has his heart broken and his feelings hurt twice by the guy he thought was his friend.

So when Laios' starts catching feelings for Kabru he's telling himself, "no, this is just like with Shuro, Kabru doesn't like me that way, no one does and I don't think ever will."

Meanwhile Kabru has fallen head over heels with Laios and is waiting for him to notice all the very, very big hints he's giving him but Laios finds a way to loopty-loop out of anything he's doing being romantic whatsoever.

(I should note that Falin decided that -after seeing how Shuro broke Laios' heart when they were younger- is planning on stepping in to help her brother when the time is right.)

Laios has been king for 2 years and the kingdom still doesn’t know what’s going on between him and his advisor, not that they know what’s going on between them either…

Dumb Labru headcanon, but neither of them confessed his feelings for the other, they just happened.

After a couple years of being side by side as the king and his advisor they just got used to each other’s company so much that one random morning one of them just gave the other a good morning kiss and regardless of who of them did it Kabru thought of struggling Laios.

There might have been a light chat between them about what happened and what it meant, but after that they both just sort of accept it.
