the CI wiki has an editable list of CI resources and a couple of native content links | A1 to like B2?

comprehensible hub has tons of spanish podcasts for learners | A1 to B2

letterboxd has a ton of very fun #español lists, e.g. movies mentioned in the wild project podcast, latin american female directors, made in puerto rico | ~B2 to C2

there are also a ton of moocs in spanish for intermediate to advanced learners (moocs are online courses, usually free) | B1 to C2

lately i’ve been catching up on research, reading for fun, and interview prep but late september, i went to california to accompany my partner during his conference trip and enjoyed an amazing mitski concert while i was there. recent goals have just been to be patient for interview invites and to enjoy the time i have in new york before i head back to california for a research elective. i love autumn and i wish it was longer! but maybe part of why it’s so lovely is its ephemeral nature.

Why is applying for grad school so hard? 😭 Like it's not just applying for school, it's:

Filing your taxes so you can apply for FAFSA

Applying for FAFSA

Reaching out to your former professors for letters of recommendation

Reaching out to your boss for a letter of employer support

Paying for official transcripts to be sent from undergrad ($75)

Writing a 2-3 page personal statement

Choosing an area of research or research topic

Fill out the online General Graduate admissions application ($70)

Fill out the online History Division application

Revising 2 different 15-20 page writing samples showcasing your scholarship

Reaching out the faculty advisors for feedback on your research topic

Securing one of the faculty advisors as your sponsor

Writing a 2-3 page research prospectus

AND I have to keep track of all the different deadlines for each step?? Which aren't in order??? This is hell for the dyslexic, AudDHD scholar, especially after being on academic hiatus for over a year. 😭

Hello, lovelies!

It's been a hot minute since I've posted because, well... Finals are rough!! I've been so swamped with school I barely have time for self care, but we're making it work! 😊

I have exciting news, though! I am officially halfway done with my final assignment of undergrad!! After midnight tonight, I will only have to pay my student bills and then I will officially be Milo, B.A. in European History.

Don't worry, though, that won't be the end of this blog. 💕 I've applied for mortuary school in the fall of 2023, and in the meantime, I plan to return to Arabic, German, and French language studies after work.

I can't believe we made it!

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!

I'm alone for the first time this year and things are kinda rough, but it's okay. I managed to soak up at least a little bit of sun and finally get to some of the dishes that have been piling up for weeks. Brussel sprouts with panchetta and balsamic glaze are in the oven, I binged Wednesday, so things are good. ❤️ Now if I could just finish this annotation assignment...

The last few days have been very hectic. Our landlord has been doing some construction on our house, so my roommate and I have been spending a lot more time downtown. There really isn't anything like studying with others!
