what kinda shape shifter? also we have mermaids kinda in this fic so tbh I might just assign u that and say u have a specialty towards using water elemental magic (which also means u find it easier to branch out into other elemental magic)

The mountains shifted with it, like plates moved as the weight changed. It kinda explains the weird fissures, they feel like cracks (even the ravines did, but these do especially). Like it's all squeezing down on whatever is deeper than we can go

I love Minecraft I love the implication that if you dig to the centre of the earth far enough you just encounter void. within the centr of the overworld there is a vast void. I wonder if there’s anything in the middle. like.. if you survive far enough could you find something?

I like the idea that it's hiding something or other. That the -y used to be in that void, but it delved deeper, more potent, to hide or contain whatevers inside

Id definitely make sure that its obvious that it's horror cuz like, unexpected horror can be unfun even if you like horror.

Also depends on how much of a spoiler the horror is. If people would be going into it expecting horror, then id just straight up advertise it as beng horror. A slow build is always fun
