Afaik it was only ever fanon that psychometry requires skin contact with an object to trigger, although I’ve never seen the Clone Wars cartoon so Quinlan Vos’s character might have been the source for the theory?

As far as Cal goes, he also senses the bigger echoes (the ones that give you more life/Force) with his gloved hand, so it’s not just Trilla’s saber, at least.

I’m probably super late noticing this but I just now realized that Cal grabs Trilla’s lightsaber with his gloved hand and I’m left wondering how he can feel the echo in the force in that case - was this just a mistake or should we understand it that the echo was so strong that not even the glove protected him??
