Grifter Planetary Nebula - A rare stage, not every grifter achieves this state. Most skip directly to the break point. Here, the grifter IS the discourse. Susie typically uses the first person pronoun “ore” which is pretty rare for female characters (women using pronouns like “boku” and “ore” is pretty much nonexistent outside the realm of fiction, but even for fictional characters “boku” is usually the pronoun to get across “this girl is a bit rough and tomboyish”)

i believe this was specifically Toby’s idea, and Keiko Fukuichi actually did say in an interview that she was concerned that Japanese players might be confused about her gender. this is probably part of why in one of Susie’s first scenes, when Kris sees her eating chalk, she actually starts off using the traditional feminine “atashi” before switching to “ore.” it also just fits how the scene worked in English (Susie pretending to be calm before turning aggressive and threatening) imo

Susie does switch back to using “atashi” several times, most notably when she’s speaking to Toriel. Susie is MUCH more polite around Toriel than any other character, and i believe Toriel is the only adult character Susie refers to with the “-san” honorific

I keep seeing those 'susie is half-human' theories popping up but I honestly got a different idea from susie bleeding in chapter 4.

I don't think she's the only one who bleeds: all monsters must do, even if the way they turn to dust when they die is still the same. Nothing says every concept needs to be the same just because one is, y'know?

And then thinking from that made me realize that this would probably further support the idea that Sans is from the deltarune universe. Everyone remembers him bleeding out in undertale right?

you know, I was thinking that people who misgender Kris because they believe that their gender is "up to the player's interpretation" have a fundamental misunderstanding of Deltarune's premise

but on the other hand, someone using your body as a meatsuit to have adventures vicariously through you and then deciding that that entitles them to override core facets of your personality is perfectly in line with the central horror of Deltarune, so maybe they understand the work better than I give them credit for :V

Kris having a crush on Susie and Noelle makes me giggle and kick my feet. Seeing them blush around both of them makes me laugh.

I feel like Kris is the type of person just will totally feel safe enough around Susie to pick them up and fall asleep in her arms bridle style cuz she’s so strong.

I totally believe Kris would just fall asleep around Susie to get her to carry them, but I raise you another headcanon: With everything that's going on with the Soul, Kris struggles with fainting spells and fatigue, and knows Susie will make sure they don't hurt themself and get them somewhere they can rest till it wears off or gets better.

Kris never explains what's going on or why they're having fainting spells/get head rushes when they stand up too fast or whatnot, but Susie picks up on it and gives them shit for "pretending".

Noelle only finds out about these fainting spells later and is immediately worried about it, seeing as they didn't have them as a little kid. I can see Susie calling her at some point to come over after a particularly bad fainting spell from Kris (they probably hurt themself from falling over or something) and Noelle immediately takes up bossing Susie around to help, and keeping an eye on Kris.

Kris doesn't know what to do with being coddled by their childhood best friend and their current best friend, but they probably try to act like none of it's a big deal.
