The original photos I used in Beginning. They were all taken with an emulated Gameboy Camera, and colorized with individual RGB channels/filters. The dandelion should look familiar for anyone following me for awhile- the other two were taken just for the game.
Fun fact: the only slide/card I didn't visualize before hand (and the last I made) was the one using the deer picture (which -another fun fact- was inspired by a hanafuda card and is a doll diorama I made in 2023!).

First attempt at any kind of head wrap. Not bad for a spare piece of triangular fabric.

Clawsome idea! My favorite inspo for poses are from actual pose books for photography and poses made for the Sims games.
Doll Pose Ideas!

Myself and many others have often complained about a lack of doll pose ideas. What's the point of having all of these dolls with incredible articulation if you don't use it?
I've figured out a solution
Official doll art!! I'll be using Monster High dolls with this example, but if your doll has decent articulation, it can be applied to them too.
Official doll art is great because the people who drew it have a great hold on the character's personality and draw them in interesting and dynamic poses that are (normally) doable in doll form. Take for example, this Abbey art
The bent arm and knee offer a cute pose that I never would have thought to do with my doll, but it is totally possible.

It's not as dynamic as the original art, but it is something new and interesting for the dolls on my shelf. Here are a few more dolls and the respective art they were posed from

Another thing you can play around with is props

So many of the dolls came with little props like purses, umbrellas, pets, etc that are so fun to incorporate into poses. Another one of my favorites is these printable books from the series found here
(Please let me know if that link doesn't work!)
*Some of the poses might be difficult if your ghouls have loose limbs, of which there are a plethora of methods for fixing. Most of them, however, scare me. So my go-to is a tiny clear elastic hair tie wrapped around and tucked into the joint. Works like a charm!*
I hope some of you find this tutorial helpful!

What is the Look Back Challenge?
The Look Back Challenge is a photography challenge for all kinds of toy collectors in which they are prompted to post only about toys and collectibles they already own, and refrain from posting about any new purchases for the entire month. This is to combat the FOMO and impulse buying tendencies that often take over collecting spaces. Collectors are often pressured to only post about the newest, hot item they've acquired. This is a challenge aimed to push back against consumerist acquisition culture. It also exists to give collectors a chance to show off items they adore, but maybe don't post about very much as they feel they need a "reason" too. We shouldn't need a reason! Let's show off the things we love!
Rules
You can only post items you had prior to the start of the challenge.
Abstaining from buying things entirely during this month is optional, but encouraged.
If you do buy something, please refrain from posting about it until the month is over.
Custom toys and home made items are allowed.
Newly made customs are allowed, if they were made from things you already had prior to the challenge starting.
You do not have to follow the prompt list to take part in the challenge, but it's there if you'd like some ideas.
If you are following the prompt list, you may interpret a prompt however you see fit. There is no right answer.
This is not a contest, and I am not judging submissions.
I may add to this rules list as questions and issues come up.
Please direct any questions to this blog, and do not message my other blogs.
If you would like me to share your photos to the challenge page, just tag or @ "look-back-month-challenge". I hope everyone has fun!

Hey dollblr, I’ve got an empty shoebox and I want to make a restaurant scene. I’ve got enough Mini Brands to do either a Pizza Hut themed joint, or a Jack in the Box one.

Thanks for the help in advance!
