“all i know is what you want me to know.”
❁ sentence starters (expired) — @magpiemi
Fate stays still for a moment, back turned towards the girl as her hands quickly flip through numerous papers and files that she has on the counter in front of her, but she pauses for a moment when she’s spoken to, hands hesitating in their movements before pausing completely. At first, she merely glances over her shoulder towards Yeji, before she turns herself completely quietly stepping over to her, a hand reaching out to rest on her shoulder.
“Love, while that’s true, I can only help you as much as you’ll let me. “ she speaks softly, a faint hint of a smile on her lips. “So, what do you want me to know?”
After she’s asked her question, Fate retracts her hand, taking a step back from Yeji so she can go about her busy-work in the little office room, though needless to say, she makes it to where the other is still in her sight. Her motions are a lot slower, much more tentative then they were previously — she doesn’t want to try and drag anything out of her, no, but she did want to make it clear that she was going to listen if needed.

SEND ME A  🎄 FOR…
20. mun’s choice (our muses wearing matching ugly christmas sweaters)  @mijaguar
Sneaking out of her own living room for a moment, Minji moves to slip into her bedroom, claiming that she needed to change her outfit (which wasn’t a complete lie — she had planned on cooking for the two, and she had still been in her work clothes from the flower shop that afternoon). But that wasn’t the only thing she was up to. It doesn’t take her but a few minutes to change into a more comfortable, lounge-around-the-house sort of outfit and look for the main reason why she had hid away for the time being: a gift, in a way. Earlier that week, she had stumbled upon a couple of fairly decorative (though surprisingly soft) christmas cardigans; one that would fit her and one for him, too. She thought that at the very least, it would be something they could both laugh about.
With her hands tucked behind her back, Minji comes out of her room and approaches Jongin with a bright smile already resting on her lips, by no means even trying to hide the fact that she was most definitely up to something. “Hey, did you still want to be my plus one to that Christmas get together this weekend?” she greets him, halting her steps to stand directly in front of him, just far enough away to keep her hands out of reach still. “If so, then I have a little outfit idea for us~” she says in a sing-song voice before she makes the big reveal, bringing her arms back around in front of her, quickly draping her own cardigan over her arm so she can use both of her hands to hold out his to him so he can see it.
“What do you think?”

and there was no one left (pt. 2)
*discovering incriminating evidence, part 2 of 2 !
tw: death
Time passes by in a blur — if asked, she wouldn’t be able to recall the path that had been taken back to the Corvus headquarters, only that she remembers being picked up, and remembers that as soon as her feet hit the ground in front of the doors, she was nearly rushing to get inside. She wanted answers, to get to the bottom of this mess — to have some closure. A funny thing, closure was; a bitter taste that had never seemed to leave her tongue. An empty feeling that never seemed to feel, no matter how many lives she saved, it wasn’t enough.
It’s not over until it’s over. She tells herself as she goes to find the woman she had called earlier, and she can only imagine how bad she looks as soon as a surprised gaze lays eyes on her, Minji snapping back to reality a little more steadily. “I’m...sorry for the mess. I did what I could. Please tell me the crew hasn’t disposed of the body yet.”
“No, of course not.” answers the other woman, her stance relaxing after a few moments. “We want to know what happened just as much as you do. But first — are you okay?”
“I’m fine, don’t worry about it. Where is it? I need to look before too much more time passes, evidence is wasting away.” it’s as if for a moment, she forgets that she’s talking to someone in a higher position than her, the usual timid medic taking a more firm stance on the situation; driven to do what she felt she needed to do. And right now, the least she could do for the man she failed to save was to save his story.
Minji moves to go past the other woman, knowing full well where they usually took cases like this, but the woman pushes herself into Minji’s path before she can get too far.
“Clean up first. And clean up your act a little, before it gets you in more trouble.” it’s a demand, not a suggestion, and she finds herself stepping back. Put in place, but she moves past the woman this time; she could clean up once she knew where the body was and what state it was in — but she imagined that the clean-up crew knew what they were doing...hopefully.
Evidence was already contaminated with, but that was almost to be expected. She just needed to look at the obvious details that she couldn’t see in the midst of the dark streets and shock.
And so, once she finds a spare change of scrubs, disposes of the clothing she had been wearing, and tries to wash the blood from her skin the best she can, the medic makes her way to join another that had already started investigating the body, gloves being pulled onto her hands as she walked in the door.
“Do we know who he was yet?” it’s the first question that leaves her, and one that leads to many more within the night — her mind wrapped up in all the processes to go through. At one point, after she’s just barely had the chance to examine stab wounds and bruising on the man’s body, someone else pulls her aside to get the details of the killer from her. She does everything she can to recall every little detail, from features of the woman’s face, her physical form, to anything and everything she could make out of her from the short time they had locked eyes before she escaped the crime scene she created and the tragedy she had left in the hands of the medic.
The night is long, weary, but the tiredness that weighs in her shoulders isn’t enough to out-weigh the determination she has — she’s almost certain that some of the women around her thought she was taking things a little too seriously. But that was fine with her, she knew what she wanted out of the situation; answers, and answers is what she was going to get. Even if it took all night and into the morning...though sure enough, with the work of the handful of members involved, answers would come, slowly, but surely.

@mijaguar
Excited, Jongin entered the bar, having all the way from his house thought about what he should drink that night. Honestly, being there was more of a plan c. He was originally going to have some wine lying at his cosy sofa, ready to watch the few last episodes of a series he’d been hooked on, but the alcohol was gone. Driving to the market was out of question, so he decided to just go to a bar close by, with his full phone battery of course. At the balcony, the man asked the bartender for a cosmopolitan and sat at the individual bench, distracting himself with all those alcoholic drinks on display. Had he had one of them at home… But a feminine voice brought Jongin back from his regretful thoughts. Being easily entertained while waiting for his cocktail, he discretely looked at the woman’s direction, not for any reason in particular. Until she said a familiar name when introducing herself to the same barman, though. Minji? Puzzled, he turned his face towards her, trying to get a better sight and recognise her from somewhere? And he did know her. That name made more and more sense as a silent “woah” turned into a big and amazed smile. Kim could’ve never imagined something like this happening with him. It had been quite a long while, to the point that the situation was almost unbelievable for him, but he wouldn’t mistake that face even after all those years. Tidying up his fringe, Jongin moved a bench closer, ready to call her attention with an extremely cocky smile for being the first one to notice this incredible coincidence. “Do you perhaps recognise me?”
@minjixmi
Minji doesn’t expect much when she steps into the bar; she was expecting to people watch for a few hours, perhaps meet up with some of the Corvus girls, and have a few drinks. Of course, she knew better than to wholeheartedly convince herself that every night was going to be a normal night — on this Island, and where she stood, she knew that a “normal” night on its own may as well be rare. And while she could prepare herself mentally for almost any medical emergency under the sun, there were some things she just couldn’t prepare herself for.
She greets the barman when she reaches the bar, one that she’s seen plenty of nights beforehand, and takes it upon herself to introduce herself, as well as ask for his name — she figures she might as well have a name to a now familiar face, especially if she expected to continue coming to that very bar as often as she had been within the past few months. It was a nice change of pace, she supposed, and a little change never hurt. Although, little did she know, she was in for a bigger change than knowing one of your local bartender’s names. She sees the movement out of the corner of her eye, but chooses to brush it off, assuming it’s just another customer taking a seat at the bar just as she had, but then the figure addresses her, and at first she thinks they’re mistaken, “I’m sorry but —” Minji doesn’t even finish her sentence before she’s turned fully towards the man, thinking that she’s going to have to let someone down, when instead, she finds herself looking into a face of the past. One she knew well, one that, back then, she could have found in a crowded place anywhere.
“I- Jongin?” the shock has her numbed before a rush of emotions promptly punches her in the chest, or so it feels like, and before she can stop herself, there’s tears that spring to her eyes, but a smile and a laugh that prevails the waver in her reaction. “Maybe it’s been a lifetime, but I’m glad to say that of course, I still recognize you.”

★ Somebody New (Seungwoo)
in-between her jobs, it wasn't often that Minji had time to run home and fix her own meals, as much as she wanted to — especially in the seasons where the flower shop was more busy than usual, and in times where her place as a medic was needed more often; but at the very least, going out to find spots for meals brought a lot of opportunities for her, new places to try, old places she’d liked, views and sights around the islands that changed with the time of year...and sometimes, it brought her to new people.
she was still in solid-light blue scrubs (that somehow had managed to stay clean throughout the day), not bothered enough to go home and change before she found a seemingly quiet, or at least not-too-packed, place to grab something to drink and eat. she steps in, hearing the ring of the bell, glancing around just a little before she steps up the counter, ordering a sandwich and tea that she had had times before, to-go, and while she waits, she takes the time to take a better look around the little restaurant. light chatter filled the place, she could see a few pairs of people here and there, a group of teens, and then...there was one person that caught her eyes; a man that seemed to be sitting and eating by himself. it was normal, something Minji could never judge — because she often did it, too — but there was something in her that told her that maybe she could stay a little longer, that maybe she could offer some company. but what if he is with someone? she contradicts herself as she turns her gaze to her phone that she slides out of her pocket for a second to act as if she’s checking it, not wanting to stare for too long. wouldn’t that be awkward? impolite? she tries to reason with herself, but before her order is done, she notices people walking-in and out of the bathrooms of the restaurant, and none of them seem to walk towards his table. maybe he is by himself? it’s not only the last second that she speaks a gentle ‘thank you’ to the worker for her food that she picks up the bag and her tea, and she starts for the door...until she makes a slow step towards the man’s table, putting on a gentle smile when she greets him.
“excuse me...would it be alright if I joined you?” the question leaves her lips before she has time to contradict herself anymore, her smile brightening a little as she looks at him.

★ you and I (Sungki)
Minji hadn't been much of a nightlife person, but that didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy going out on occasion, even sometimes without the help of fellow Corvus members or other friends to coax her out — it was more of a feat than she’d ever be willing to admit. But it was something different, something to add change to her normal routine, to make things feel a little more normal, or at least so she hoped.
She found herself in a crowd of people, chatter and movement surrounding her; she had accidentally bumped shoulders with someone else on her way over to the bar area with an empty glass, a quiet laugh leaving her as she politely apologized to the stranger that took the little collision just as lightly as she had; she didn’t have a problem with passing by other’s with small talk, little side comments that could be taken as a beginning or an end to a conversation, either way, it worked for her. Although, perhaps tonight was a night for walking herself into situations that she would have to find her way out of...hopefully.
The empty glass is put on the bar surface, contemplating if she wants another drink or if she’s going to wait a while, oblivious to conversations going on around her, that is, until she’s pulled into one. She’s just about to catch the attention of the bartender as she feels a hand on her arm, pulling her into the side of a stranger; she tenses at first, not knowing what’s going on — she’s prepared to rip herself away, until she catches some of the words in passing, the conversation seeming normal. And perhaps it’s the little bit she’s had to drink, but she loses the tension in her shoulders, putting on a friendly smile as she looks across the situation to one stranger, and then to her side to another stranger, the one that had pulled her over as if they had known one another for a long time, as if they had come to this place together, perhaps.
“Catch me up to speed on the conversation, please~” her words are spoken sweetly, assuming that the man had his reasons for pulling her in; and she wanted to know why — it was her way of politely demanding to know what was going on without causing a scene, even though she very well could have, she didn’t want to when there was more than one person involved in the situation — what was all this about, anyway?

Tumblr media
Iseul sat on the stool as she slowly put the flowers in the vase. A bride had called and wanted some options to choose from for the reception, a very common request. Pursing her lips she didn’t hear her mother glide into the room. “Iseul sweetheart.” A soft soothing voice spoke as she tapped Iseul on the shoulder and smiled her smile. A smile Iseul loved and found calming her anxious heart. “Yes umma?” She said putting down her sheers looking up as she pushed back a strand of hair that had gotten loose from her bun. “Sweetie, a big company has ordered a lot of flowers and we are going to collaborate with another shop to fill the order. i already spoke to them and they would like you to head over and meet the other florist and start with plans.”
That was how the morning started, Iseul bit her nails as she road the bus and arrived at the shop.Standing in front she bit her lip, her mother was usually the one to handle any collaborations but had been sick recently. Taking a deep breath and hitting her chest in hopes to stop the pounding of her heart she stepped forward. A small bell rang as she opened the door, a sound that she had grown use to in her own shop. Looking around the flowers everywhere, the smell seemingly to almost calm her nerves as she stepped forward and rang the bell on the counter.”Hello? I am here from Rain Flower Shoppe?” She said looking around for the other florist she would be working with, her heart suddenly pounding though her whole body. This was her least favorite thing to do.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t rare for Oopsie-Daisy to receive large orders — in her time there, she had seen orders for so many occasions and reasons, and various sizes...but when she heard about this one in particular, she was a little intimidated. So it was to her relief when she found out that the shop was going to be collaborating with another one to fulfill the order in hopes to take some of the pressure off, to make things a little easier and smooth for everyone involved in the process (or so they hoped). Minji couldn’t find any issues with this, and in all honesty, she was excited about working with someone else outside of the shop. It could be a good opportunity, not only for the shop itself, but for her, too. She was fine with working by herself...but she wanted to see what the other place had to bring to the table — who knew, she could learn some new things, perhaps.
That morning was spent in anticipation as she went about her usual daily activities, making sure everything was in order and that nothing was out of place; things that had come to her as a second nature at this point, which immersed her fairly deeply in her thoughts...until she heard the gentle ring of the bell at the front door, and heard a voice calling out to her. Minji placed the arrangement she had in her hands down, a bright smile naturally making its way to her lips as she made her way to the front of the shop, “Good morning!” she greets sweetly, approaching the other girl. “You’re from Rain Flower?” she wants to confirm that she heard the name correctly, offering a polite bow to the girl in front of her. “I’m Minji, it’s absolutely a pleasure to meet you.” she continues softly, her smile softening on her lips, but remaining just as bright as it had.

and there was no one left (pt.1)
*discovering incriminating evidence, part 1 of 2 !
tw: death & blood
To the perpetrator, it doesn’t really matter what you were doing that night. Her blade is plunged into the stomach of her victim, a man in his late twenties groaning out in agony. Luck seems to have fallen on him, to have a medic stumble upon his murder.
She’s tall, slim. Jet black hair tangles in waves down her back to the bottom of her utility belt, a few tools that could easily be used as weapons tucked into each pocket. She wears no mask, so you can see the split at the left corner of her lips and the beauty mark just below it. She stares at you like a deer caught in headlights, panic written across her features. In her haste, she shoves the victim back to the ground as he attempts to escape and lands as many stabs as she can to his abdomen before taking off. She’s fast, too fast to chase, but she leaves behind a vital piece of evidence: the victim.
He’s in no state to talk, or really do anything, but he looks at you with pleading eyes. Save me, he says, but there’s nothing you can do. He bleeds out shortly after. Unfortunately, as much as you saw her, she saw you, but you have the upper hand. The question is, what will you do with it?
Death — a concept she was certain she’d never wrap her mind perfectly around. She’s memorized what it looks like to see the light leave someone’s eyes, whether slowly or quickly, can recognize what a dying breath sounds like; she knows when it’s too late, but it doesn’t stop her from trying. Everything is a blur, with how fast it moves, with how fast she moves. Immediately, her mind switches tracks, trying to catch every detail she can, but more importantly, trying to analyze how to save the man’s life as she lunges herself into the scene of the crime. She almost hates herself for letting the woman get away — but attacking someone’s attacker, especially an armed one, wasn’t something she could confidently approach, unlike the way she approached the wounded, without a fear other than losing them. Minji rips her scarf from her neck, pressing it to the man’s wounds in a panic to try and stop the bleeding — but there’s too much, too many puncture wounds, too much already lost.
“I’m sorry.” she whispers, as she watches the light slip from pained eyes, feeling the blood soak through her scarf and all over her hands. Steady hands begin to tremble, tears welling in her eyes. She doesn’t know what to do. She failed to save him. “I’m so sorry.” she manages to quietly choke out the words to the stranger, the man that can no longer hear her, moving to wipe one now bloody hand off on the leg of her pants, just so she can close his eyes properly. Before the panic hits her full force, Minji moves her hand away from his face, herself away from the man, and scrambles to find the burner phone she kept on her.
“Please pick up.” she whispers to herself, dialing a number that’s all too familiar to her.
“Hello?” a woman’s voice on the other side answers calmly.
“Fate reporting in.” It’s the silly way she always responds, but right now, it’s her way of keeping herself together, struggling to hold onto the mindset of the brave medic, over the mind of someone with too soft of a heart for humanity. “I-I have a body. I don’t know what to do. I just watched a man die. Please, tell me what to do.” she tries, but fails to keep it together. trying to swallow the panic all she wants, but there’s no use as her voice wavers in the quiet air of the night.
“Hold on. Where are you? I’ll send a driver and some clean-up help to you. We’ll take care of this ourselves. You didn’t call authorities, did you?”  the voice remains as calm as possible, which helps her, at least a little. Part of her wants to protest, the same part of her that believes a little too much in people, but she knows better. She isn’t a regular nurse anymore. And she knows that this seemed too violent and too quick to not be planned in some way. Fate complies, explaining her location, the panic subsiding into an unexplained numbness as she stares at her bloody hand, eyes refusing to look towards the body. “No, no...I didn’t. I just called you.” She pauses for a moment, before a few details begin to spill. “It was a woman. Not one that I could recognize, but I think I may have gotten enough details to identify. It’s...hard to forget a face like that, with something like this and I-.”
“Fate, that’s enough. We’ll get you back to headquarters, and we can go from there. I know you did your best. A couple of the girls are headed your way, be on the look-out.”
There’s a click to signal the call ending, even though she keeps the phone to her ear for a few moments longer, before she lowers her hand to her side. The smell of blood and the night-air the only things she can concentrate on, even when she tries to keep an ear out for familiar voices or a familiar vehicle.
Fate doesn’t notice that she’s crying in her numb state until a tear hits the back of her hand, the woman slumped down on her knees on the cold, paved side-walk. Logically, she knows that she was too late when the woman ran off, too late by the time she had gotten to the man’s side. But it didn’t keep her from wishing that she had been there sooner, that she had been able to do something more. That she could have saved his life, and been able to catch his murderer.
But...perhaps, it’s not too late to figure out the story.
Her gaze flickers over to the man, and all...the blood, a quiet shudder of breath leaving her just as soon as she finds the physical strength to stand again, headlights that pull around nearly causing her to crumble again — until she hears a voice calling by a name that only her affiliations know, turning towards them with a blood stained hand shielding her eyes from the lights until they’ve flicked off, one woman coming to her side to pull her away from the scene, even with as much as her feet protest to uproot from their spot at first.
This is something she won’t forget, no matter how hard she tries. New faces forever ingrained in her memory; she finds herself slowly bouncing back, but only fueled by the determination to get to the bottom of everything creeping back in, and the fact that she knows she’ll be unable to rest until she knows exactly what had happened that night.

❀ headcanon memes; accepting!
*responses are written ooc
8. is your muse careless?
I feel as though the only times Minji would be careless if she’s scared/in a panic, which may bring about some mistakes in a situation. However, she’s usually fairly calm or tries to be, and she knows that in her work (both for the medic side and the florist side) she has to put a lot of care and thought into what she does since it has an effect on others — especially when it comes to her medic work, she knows that in a dire situation, it could cost someone’s life if she weren’t careful enough. So in summary, it’s probably hard for Minji to be careless with how careful, generally worried, and detail oriented that she is. Although, that’s not to say that she doesn’t make mistakes at times, too. Sleep deprivation may cause unintentional carelessness, which could happen if she pushes herself too hard. And she can also be hard on herself at times, so she would be the first one to call herself careless if she found out she made a mistake with just about anything.
36. is your muse enthusiastic?
Minji tries to be as enthusiastic as possible, especially when it comes to other people and interacting with them. She wants people to see her as friendly, someone that they can open up to, and someone that cares for them; even if the level of care may not be super personal, such as customer and employee, or client and nurse. But if someone comes to her with something they find exciting, then she’ll be excited for them. She’s not necessarily over the top with her enthusiasm, but she’s usually on the more optimistic side of things, as often as she can be.
56. is your muse irresponsible?
Similarly the the careless question, Minji in certain situations may accuse herself of being irresponsible if she feels as though she could have done better at whatever it may have been that she messed up on. (i.e. wilting flowers in an arrangement, a late arrangement, missing an important phone call for Oopsie-Daisy or her own personal office, making a mistake on a stitch, etc.) Minji knows that it’s impossible for her to be perfect, but she does want to try her best — so if she feels that she could have done more somewhere, she may consider herself irresponsible. But in another sense, Minji is a pretty responsible person. She tries to be as organized as possible in every aspect of her work life, and personal life. She does what she can to make sure things are running smoothly and as they should — so, in short, sometimes she may say she is, but in reality, she’s as responsible as humanly possible.
88. is your muse strong of body?
In the terms of wear and tear, her body can probably handle a lot. Sleep deprivation for example, because while she prefers to get a decent amount of sleep in fear of making mistakes, that sadly isn’t always the case — late nights happen, so she may have to a while in stressful times without as much sleep as needed, which will cause some wear eventually. As for physical strength, I would say she’s about “average”, she’s no body builder, but she can probably lift some fairly hefty everyday objects on her own without help. However, if she were to get caught in a physical fight, she may be in some trouble depending on the size and strength of the other person (hence part of the reason why she is by no means a fighter, unless for defense and absolutely necessary).

@mixsia
a lot had happened since that means head came clean out. there were more dead bodies than she could count and still, people were fleeing. she did what she could, soon enough, she’d have to leave as well. she just had to deal with the woman and kids. if anything, she could camp out in front of the door and wait for things to be over. tell someone on the force and disappear.
but a voice stopped her.
“fate!” she almost shouted but held herself back, letting a smile grace her face as she started at the woman in front of her. .”yes!” she said getting straight to the point. maybe not too bad, but they could stand being looked over. “i found a space for some woman and kids, i’ve been looking around for more but i can take you to the ones that i’ve hidden away.”
Fate was stuck in between telling the other woman to stay where she was at, and that she would go to see if anyone needed immediate help...but in all honesty, this entire thing scared Minji. But either way, she had a job to do that she had signed up for long ago, and a woman right in front of her that she needed to be reliable for.
“Show me the way, and I’ll do everything I can do.” she’s determined in her words, sweeping all the fear and inner threats of heartache to the side; strength is what she needed, and was what she was there to provide in the midst of all this chaos. “And do me a favor..” she cuts in one last time before anything else is said, careful fingers wrapping around the other woman’s wrist. “Be careful. I need you in one piece, too.”
