i was wondering if your dissertation would be publicly available after it’s published as a friend and i can’t stop talking about how interested we are in this
After I receive the feedback (provided it doesn't get the worst, most embarrassing grade possible – I'm trying to be optimistic), I plan on sharing it publicly so the participants/anyone else interested can read it! I think it'll be another couple of months until it's graded and returned to me, but if all goes well, then sometime over the summer I'll make a post with details on where you can read it. It's lovely to hear you're both so interested in it, thank you! :)

Thank you! I study Media, Journalism & Publishing, and I’ve specialised in the publishing side of the course as I’ve progressed into my final year. :)

I have little to share about the AftG dissertation other than a) I am still alive! and b) drafting is going well! The final deadline is slowly but surely creeping up on me but I'm feeling pretty confident about everything. In the meantime, here's a snippet that I'm hoping my supervisor will let me keep in (uncensored, because it's so much funnier that way):
#whether you agree or disagree DO NOT SHOOT THE MESSENGER I am simply a neutral student researcher picking apart these books and their fandom#AftG Diss

QUESTIONNAIRE CLOSED EARLY!
After meeting with my supervisor, we decided it would be best for me to close the questionnaire early to give me enough time to go through and analyse the responses – speaking of which, the grand total of responses we got (in 10 days) was 1,833! That's absolutely wild! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed and expressed interest in my research – I appreciate every single one of you.
Now I have all my data, I ought to start actually writing my dissertation, huh? Wish me luck! 🦊🥍🧡
Yeah, you read that right, I convinced my university to let me research All for the Game for my degree!
Take the (anonymous) questionnaire here!
The deadline for responses is 31 December. Please share this as much as possible – the more responses I get, the better! 🧡
@korakos claims to have done no marketing for the All for the Game series, and despite the oversaturation of the online self-publishing market, AftG garnered significant sales and formed a prominent online fanbase. My research aims to figure out exactly how that happened!
This questionnaire looks into the most common modes of discovery for AftG, the formats you first read it in, and where you interact with other readers of the series. You don’t need to be a fan of AftG, you just need to have read at least the first book. It’s completely anonymous, though please take a moment to read through the participant and consent information on the first two pages of the questionnaire.
If you have any more questions (or have any issues with the questionnaire), let me know! :)

1,000 responses...
I am FLOORED (and so is my supervisor!). I didn't expect to hit this milestone at all, nevermind in two days! I truly appreciate every single person who's taken the time to fill out this questionnaire and help my research, I wish I could thank you all individually. Thank you thank you thank you!

Hello! I didn't think of it immediately and wasn't sure if anyone else mentioned the kindle prices being so low for the books as a possible reason for the fandom success? Why NOT try a new series you see online or are recommended by a friend for $0.99 per book (Or FREE for TFC)?
This begs the question of how financially possible that would be for someone releasing their debut novel, depending of their living situation/economic class.
Hiya! You're spot on, pricing is one of the key things I'm looking into, and many people have mentioned reading the series simply because the first book is free and the rest are dirt cheap (which is, coincidentally, one of the reasons I first read it too). Thank you for your ask! <3

hey! i did your questionnaire and just wanted to say that i was on tumblr in 2013 when the books first came out and i have ~somewhat~ of a memory of how i originally found out about them/my perspective of how they gained traction back then so if you’d like more information about that let me know!! i’m sure others were also around then but i feel like a lot of people i see in the fandom are much younger than i am so it’s hard to say (time is a Concept my brain doesn’t understand).
Hiya! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! As of now I'm not conducting any interviews but I am relying quite heavily on Tumblr archives – if you know of any old posts/tags you use that you think could be relevant to my research please do let me know! And my DMs are always open if you have anything else you'd like to share. Thank you again! :) <3

Moodboard for when your questionnaire does WAY better than expected and now you have an insane amount of data to trawl through and analyse (but I'm also so so thankful and overwhelmed with love for this fandom) 🧡
(psst... take my All for the Game questionnaire!)

500 responses in less than 24 hours...
Respectfully, you are all insane, and I love you so much – thank you to everyone who's responded so far, and thank you for sharing, thank you for your luck and kind words, and thank you to those who have offered extra info in my DMs! I was so worried I wouldn't get enough responses for my research, and I cannot express how much this all means to me, the AftG fandom has been my home (via my main blog, which I won't disclose for privacy reasons) for many years now and it's so lovely to see everyone gather together to help me with this. :)
To everyone who's expressed interest in seeing the results/reading my dissertation, I'm consulting my supervisor to see whether this would be possible! But keep in mind that I won't be submitting it until March, and it will be assessed over the summer, so it'll be a while until I can share anything if I'm given the green light.
Also, I (for now) am not planning to conduct any interviews (unless, of course, you are Nora Sakavic, our saviour), however everyone is more than welcome to pop into my DMs if you want to chat about all this, give me more info you didn't get the chance to share in the questionnaire, or even just gush about your favourite characters (mine's Andrew, for the record 💪😎🥍)... It's been so lovely getting to hear from my fellow fans, you guys have made this research project so much more fun.
Thank you again for the incredible response so far, please keep sharing this as much as possible – the questionnaire's open to responses until 31 Dec! 🧡🧡🧡

@bisexualchaosdemon thank you so much!! <3
this is suuuch a long shot, but does anyone happen to have a screenshot of The Sunshine Court's Amazon listing on the day/close to the day it was published?
I need one that displays the title, cover, and its rankings in the bestseller lists (like the screenshot above) – or maybe even just a screenshot of one of those categories with TSC at/near the top! if you have any screenshots/proof of TSC's peak Amazon rankings/anything similar that you think might be useful, please let me know, I'd really appreciate it!
