the fact that he makes her kneel as a power move only to immediately get down on the floor with her says a Lot about him i think. not just that but also the fact that his whole 'thing' is "i want to bring the doctor down to my level" and yet so many of their interactions have him bringing himself down to her level. almost as if the last time they met it was the doctor trying to make the master more like them?

The Spymaster constantly leaning down to remain on the Doctor's eye level, even kneeling to continue on a conversation with her, is such a fascinating part of his and the Doctor's relationship but it's also soooo funny. Man is finally taller than his ex but now it's Weird so he has to keep on bending down to not be above her eye level.

I know I’ve said this before, but I continue to be fascinated by the companion dynamic of Romana specifically, because to her the Doctor is a mentor and friend, but she isn’t reliant on him to either get where she needs to be or survive out in the universe the way every other companion is. Which to me is more interesting than just the fact that she understands his technobabble

ANOTHER RIVER IS PATIENCE TRUTHER LETS GOOO

latest crazy doctor who theory of mine that i’m going feral over is the possibility of Patience and River Song being the same character. i know it sounds insane but the evidence is there for those with eyes…

-we don’t actually know Patience’s real name

-they both have pseudo Time Lord genetics while being able to regenerate

-they’re both Doctor’s wife and both claim to know the Doctor’s name

-Patience says she was born, not Loomed, meaning she was born outside of Pythia’s Curse which of course River was

-Five is told he’ll meet Patience again after she ‘dies’ and Five himself does actually meet and travel with River for a while soooo

-Patience can fly TARDISes /really/ well despite coming from a time where TARDIS travel is uncommon and ofc River can fly the TARDIS perfectly 👀

-neither character have much modesty lol

there is stuff in Infinity Doctors that sort of contradicts the idea buuutt that story is is another universe so idk if i’d count it against the headcanon. but just imagine River somehow escaping the Library and regenerating into Patience… the angst potential is immense

i love the master’s plan in the tv movie. like if he had waited five more minutes for seven to take him to gallifrey he could’ve stolen the body of any time lord. like literally anyone with 12 regenerations left. but no. this bastard goes out if his way to NOT do that. to risk his entire lifeforce crashing the doctor’s tardis, stealing an unsuitable human body and fucking with the eye of harmony (because it went SOOOO well for him last time) just so he can have the doctor’s body. the master could have stolen the president’s body and had gallifrey all to himself but he CHOSE to go after his old ass boyfriend who’s over halfway through his own regeneration cycle. and he didn’t even plan seven’s death either so he actually wanted to steal a body that the doctor himself admits was almost dead anyway. had the master had his own way he would’ve turned into that cum snake, crawled down seven’s oesophagus and then… what? die in a week and regenerate back into the doctor? 10/10 plan. what a moron. i love him

have a surviving group of them (led by Romana) living on one of Gallifrey’s moons or something. also bring back the General because she’s such an interesting character and was criminally underused. i think it’s important that Gallifrey itself stays in ruin though, at least at first, so we can still see the consequences of what’s gone on there in the last few eras

you could do a whole multi series sub-arc with the Doctor begrudgingly popping in every now and then on the Time Lords as they rebuild. could even include Rassilon somehow since he’s still kicking about at the end of the universe

So… this may seem random but the way Narvin is starting to idolise Romana, basically equating her person with the presidential office or even Gallifrey as a whole combined with all the parallels I’ve been seeing between Gallifrey and late republic/early imperial Rome has made me think of Romana as a genius loci, the literal personification of her planet.

So, long story short, I decided to draw Romana with iconography matching that of the personification/goddess Roma:
