Mairuma Coloring 10
(An older coloring)
“Thank you for being born, Iruma-kun.”
This specific chapter hit me in the feels so much :((
Iruma is a cutiepie and I wish him all the best in this world
Is this a safe space to say I HATE have trouble with Iruma’s hair the most because since its all black in the manga and flat blue in the anime I have no idea how his hair is sectioned into strands
On the other hand his hair is always the prettiest to gradient
The tears are so yummy (the coloring guys, not that I’d drink his tears that’s weird)

Oh? Oh? This opens up a bit more on how Iruma views romance as a whole. I suppose he never had given it much thought. While we all love to joke abt him being as dense as mercury. There is a pretty good reason as of to why he's so.. well, subconsciously avoidant of romance. He's always had to depend on his adaptibility (which I will ramble abt in a diff post, don't u worry) for survival, and one of the most heartwarming themes of this was the found family and how Iruma slowly settles to finally, finally learn to live as a teenage boy; loved by his family (Opera, Sullivan.) and make strong bonds with friends and just enjoying his youth as he should. But he's never really given much thought on romance. He's.. well, ironically, more unprepared for it than Ameri confessing her feelings. He'd never had to think of it before. Sure, he worked on a shojo manga before, but even then, the manga was a cliche, vanilla one.(the manga is super cute tho, don't get me wrong.) He's never had to deal with this heavy romantic tension before. It's new. It's thrilling. It's unfamiliar.
I find it so interesting since Iruma is a master at adapting but he doesn't want to adapt to this. Also, love how we show that men can also be vulnerable and scared at this type of love!! Not in the 'I'm scared to be hurt again if I let down my walls' way (although I do like the trope if done well) but 'I don't know how to handle this type of love bcs I never thought I'd experienced it and be desired like this' type of way. It's nice to see the role-reversal and subtle breaking of gender expectations tbh.
Also, small side note; I do love how all the characters respect each other's boundaries and recognizes when to change the subject, etc. It's a refreshing take for once. Common W for Ali-san once again!!
#I have no excuse for not posting so long but I promise I have some rambles in my drafts that I will soon complete!!#Sorry for the long ass hiatus!!#Irumeri fans are getting fed with this one.#the multishipper side of me squealed on this chapter!!#mairuma#welcome to demon school iruma kun#m!ik#mairimashita! iruma kun

Osamu Nishi, I will forever love your belief that "Kids should be protected by adults, even if this is Shounen."
#EXACTLY!!#I had enough of shounen adults being so caught up in their own world that they won't notice how BIG of a burden#They placed on a fucking child#I love how Nishi says straight up that we should guide them and they have the right to think we protect them#also the fact that the demon world is so much lowkey better than real life#like love is love no matter the gender#kids are precious treasures that we should forever cherish#also I'm looking forward to actually reading ichi the witch in the future bcs god it seems so intriguing#love the acknowledgement of how fucked up the normalization of this is

I second this. The whole point of Kirio's backstory was that it SUBVERTED our expectations. The trope we all knew, love and perhaps use a bit too much. I do love him, don't get me wrong. (Although I do have a sixth sense to choke him at that one chapter, yk which one) But to be frank, he is a demon, one who's extremely close to their primal origins at that. (There is like a mild theory of mine that this habit of his to indulge about despair in such a way, was genetic? A bit due to his brother's reaction? But I'm not entirely sure, so take that with a grain of salt.) Also, love this alteration of the meme.

So I was chatting with @sayohazawa about the latest Iruma-kun chapters, and she pointed out something very fun to me that a friend had pointed out to her. In chapter 375, we see Lied getting dressed up as Lindy, but then in 376, we see her in a completely different outfit with a completely different hairstyle.
So not only does she know how to do her own makeup and put in her own hair extensions, but she also has multiple hairstyles she likes AND owns multiple outfits for this (which can't possibly be Shakky's 'cuz she's a completely different size), and she must have been actively deliberating on how she wanted to dress up.
I had then pointed out some other fun details, namely how it was Lindy who suggested they do the mall date anyways. Gyari just told them to do what they want.
Just about no hesitation, not a thought of going home and getting changed, just diving directly into a mall date as cute girls.
They were even taking selfies to remember the occasion with!
They both need estrogen, but holy fucking shit, Lindy. Are we sure she HASN'T figured it out yet, or is she just sooooooooo close but not quite there yet?

Hey like i do appreciate all fics where Balam is like "im monstrous! nobody will ever love such an ugly thing ;((" but may i suggest: Balam, by demonic standards, probably would be considered VERY attractive.
Especially after his glow-up, and to people who haven't heard rumors about him.
Like, that man is
a) high rank
b) a VERY powerful demon. And we know for a fact that netherworld finds power and strength pretty damn attractive.
c) he has a gentle and easygoing personality. Demons love having fun.
d) animal features are VERY COMMON!!! Like, animal faces, even. We saw a few dragon-like characters in the background at some point (even Eikos friend w/ a crocodile head, or Camui) Demons come in all shapes and sizes and while im sure there are some who have a preference for humanoid demons, without doubt animal features aren't a problem for the majority.
e) he has gorgeous hair (at least, after he started taking care of it) and he's by no means portrayed as ugly. Just... A bit creepy/ scary.
f) his clothing preferences are a bit unfashionable imo but i have no idea how that would translate for the other demons. Maybe its gargoyle fashion. Maybe other demons find it a bit weird. Or maybe it's totally normal. Who knows.
I mean Atori was clearly salivating about Balam pretty badly and I can't be the only one who saw that
So, my appellation to the mairimashita community: please consider writing Balam Shichiro as a sought-after man, not as a guy that nobody is interested in.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk

Irumeri being the very, very few hetero-ships that I actually really love and look forward to being endgame (?)
Oh, I see where Ameri got her behavior from. That's so adorable though!! Love the parallel between her and her father. Honestly I'm an Iruma multi-shipper so I really be happy with anyone being with Iruma, but IruAzz and IruMeri being my top ones (for now).
AYOO!! THE FATHER-DAUGHTER PARELLELS WITH AMERI, AGAIN. I LOVE THAT HE APPROVED OF IRUMA BEING WITH AMERI BECAUSE IRUMA IS REALLY JUST A KIND AND LOVING GUY!! IRUMA RIZZ STRIKES AGAIN FELLAS!! I'm probably gonna make an analysis on their relationship in detail one day, but for now I'm just gonna gush over them. THIS is what happens when you have good writing, fellas.
'Men and women alike' Iruma is never denying the bisexual allegations. Atp I don't even think it's allegations anymore. LOVE the inclusivity of Alice being there, I HATE those people who are in denial about this, Azz-kun was the first member of the harem, the OG Iruma simp himself, PUT HIM IN THERE!! He's ALWAYS BEEN THERE!!
Pfft, sorry Henri-san. Your daughter is (unsurprisingly) not the only one who was enticed by Iruma's kindness and just him in general. She's got A LOT to deal with when it comes to Iruma. She's not the only one who's eyes were caught by this 'good kid' as you state.
This is so funny to me, purely because he doesn't even care about the human thing, it was something but he was a good kid so who really cares. But once he found out Iruma was desired by many. He's like DEVI NOOO!! FUCK NO!! INTO THE CELL YOU GO!! I love the juxtaposition it's so fucking funny to me.
#mairimashita! iruma kun#mairuma#welcome to demon school iruma kun#m!ik#mairimashita iruma kun#Im sorry for the long ass hiatus#life has gotten me distracted and doomed yaoi has gotten me depression again yk how it is.#I'll try to be more active and mairuma still has me on a leash dw

Star: Shax Lied

Lied getting the recognition he deserves🥹
People usually overlook that Lied is a powerful demon even though he was one of the young kings during the harvest festival. Lied and Iruma one and yet only Iruma was put on a pedestal
+ it's stated in the chapter that demons have a hard time concentrating and yet Lied probably has the best concentration among the abnormal class

13 spoiler-free reasons why you should read Mairimashita! Iruma-kun
...if you haven't done so already 👀 (With "spoiler-free" I mean I'm not describing plot points or characters, but under the cut I'll discuss the overarching themes, so be warned if that's too much for you. The first 7 reasons may be enough lol)
It's both funny AND wholesome. I literally can't read it without laughing out loud, and there are a bunch of chapters that make me cry every time I read them.
It's clever! The Japanese version contains several puns based on the kanji "魔" (read "ma", = devil, demon), starting from the title, but it's a recurring pun. The English translation adapts them pretty well. Plus, there are some of the best plot twists in recorded history (IMO). And the names and characteristics of most characters are based on real-life demonology.
It's queer AF. Like, really gay. There are explicitly homoromantic relationships and several nonbinary and gender non-conforming characters. One of these is the best unashamedly nonbinary character ever written. Plus, the manga premise can be seen as an allegory of hiding in the closet. The only thing that made me uncomfortable because of cisnormativity (boys in drag as a joke) is completely fixed in later chapters, and very well so.
It's feminist, without being preachy or paternalistic. Simply put, the women/girls are three-dimensional, complex characters, as the norm should be. And there are lots of them, without it being a harem (...the harem trope is actually used as a joke).
It's spooky and adorable, imagine Halloween vibes all year round. Both main and background characters are super diverse, and if you like monsters there is stuff for you.
Most characters are neurodivergent-coded. It's basically the autistic/ADHD manga.
The art is phenomenal. It's especially good to see the improvement of the art style over the years (the first chapter was published in 2017 and the manga is ongoing). Some panels are really breathtaking.
8. The story is about personal growth - like most shounen manga, fair enough. But the protagonist, Iruma, is so far from toxic masculinity I dare say he's the antidote to it.
9. It's also about found family, the discovery of unconditional love, and trust, and healing from familial trauma.
10. It's about finding a group of friends you belong to, and transforming your weirdness into a strength, identifying and cultivating what you're good at instead of fitting into a mold.
11. It's about the beauty of learning in your own way, and the importance of education and the shaping of future generations.
12. And the reason why I opened this blog: it's about fascism and fighting against it. I mean real fascism, as in "a powerful individual/group wants society to be hierarchical and oppress certain minorities, elevating a specific subset of the population based on intrinsic characteristics which are being misleadingly treated as merits". Ethno-nationalistic stuff. More specifically, it's about being a somewhat politically illiterate person, who learns about systems of oppression beyond personal injustices. It's about questioning what is the best way to arrange society.
13. Most importantly, this manga gives you hope about the future, something I find harder and harder to have. Hopelessness is dangerous - as people without hope stop fighting. This manga makes me actively feel better. Since it's ongoing I can't ensure it will always remain that way, but I've come to trust the author enough that I expect it to.
#this manga was seriously life-changing for me#>>>>#EXACTLY LIKE??#Queer representation is here as well#just really really great stuff#Would recommend to anyone really#well#ones who aren't allergic to happiness bcs unlike many#these types feed us well
