Last one of the day - going out to my brothers and sisters that paid the ultimate price. Before I signed my final papers, my recruiter looked me in the eye and said, "Once you sign, you're writing a blank check made payable to the United States of America for an amount up to and including their life". Luckily, my check was never cashed but plenty of my fellow soldiers were.
