"Well, I'm glad we're friends." She smiled, watching him eat his ice cream. "I guess I was never one to hang out with people that much. At all my other schools, I'm not that friendly, so.." She shrugged, thinking back. "Doesn't matter now, though. Change is good."

“I’m glad I make you happy then.” He replied, as the banana split was settled down in front of him. He took a spoon and began to dig in, staring at Ava. “Why would I regret it? This isn’t something I do on a normal basis, so I like it.”

Ava smiled in return, nodding. "I am, actually. It's one of the better nights I've had so far." This was true, mainly because she spent most of her time alone. Being with someone else was better, the girl had to admit. "Are you? I hope you're not regretting inviting me out." She teased.

“Point taken, hamster.” Xavier smiled. He didn’t notice but he had already finished his pancakes, and called the waitress over so that he could have his banana split. “Well, Ava, I hope you’re enjoying your really late dinner.”

Ava nodded softly, "Right. Okay, then." She honestly didn't know how to react, because Xavier was a bit... hard to read? Trying to avoid the awkwardness, she chuckled, "Well, of course, you like me. I'm your hamster, aren't I?"

Xavier gulped, and grinned at her. “As long as it’s from you, then it’s not meaningless, because I really like you! Hahaaa.”

At his question, she shook her head. "Yeah, never. I'm not entirely sure how it's all supposed to work, really." She shrugged, not really knowing what to reply. "So, nicknames are usually meaningless, then?" Taking another bite, she tilted her head to the side, waiting for his answer as she chewed.

“Ava’s never gotten a boyfriend, though, right?” He asked her quietly, sipping on his milkshake. “You know, I always get nicknames from the girls I go out with, but all of them mean the same and not to mention it’s over-used, haha.” He mused, recalling the nick names. One girl called him Xavy, and that wasn’t really funny.
