2019 Summer Update

For me, it’s been a quiet summer for pinup.

Memorial Day weekend started out with some cliche Washington State weather, but that all burned off by the time the Cruz came around.

I didn’t really participate in many of the extra events, and there wasn’t any pinup pageant to attend this year, so Miss Kitty Strange and I mostly just wandered about, taking photos of some of the cars (and Elvis!).

 Welcome back to another Pinup In A Pack Subscription Box review!

 This subscription box is still fairly new, having debuted in the early months of 2017.

You can order your own Pinup In A Pack subscription from their website for 19.99 per month (free shipping to the lower 48 states!).

With every pack, you’ll receive between 3 to 4 retro inspired accessories to add to your pinup wardrobe. These blind box items have the potential to have a retail value for up to $50.00.

 Pinup In A Pack was kind enough to give their Instagram followers a sneak peak for this month’s box earlier in the month. One of the featured items in that preview were these adorable translucent sunnies!

Translucent Retro Cat Eye Sunglasses ($15)

 Due to me being a heavily vision impaired individual, Pinup In A Pack was happy to add me to their “sunglasses free” version of the subscription box.

In the place of some sweet shades, I received this pretty hair flower accessory in my box! It’s not quite as flashy or well made as last month’s flower, but it’s still a good replacement for the sunglasses.

Dangly Pom Pom Earrings ($12 Approx)

I’m not a huge fan of wearing dangly earrings, and this pair never quite grew on me, so I ended up giving them to a friend. They remind me of a long fluffy pink dressing gown or one of those ridiculous Michael Kors Pom Pom keychains.

  Rhinestone Stretch Bracelet ($12 Approx)

 This bracelet was initially my favourite item in the pack, despite it having snagged a sweater and some nylons. Unfortunately, the metal finish started irritating my skin on my second day of wearing it, so I’ll have to look into getting a jewelry sealant spray for any possible future accessorizing.

In conclusion: I really liked how these items were meant to compliment each other in an outfit as well as being able to look great on their own. Although it was a fun box, I do feel like the quality is still lacking compared to prior boxes.
