I could never own a parrot. They are splendid and delightful joyful creatures but I could not match their fucking whimsy. there is one (ONLY ONE) singular thing I didn't like about the new Superman.

We're supposed to like Jimmy Olsen. Clearly we're supposed to like Jimmy Olsen. I COULD NOT bring myself to like him after the whole thing with Eve.

the whole putting her down for the ways her toes look just felt really unnecessary. It was very "we need to bring this obviously incredibly attractive girl down, so he needs to make fun of her toes." and it just felt so unnecessary? He had plenty of reasons to not like her or want to date her already. It could just have been about her rushing him and being really overbearing and clingy. It didn't have to be "let me find this hot girl's one imperfection and make that her phone contact name"

the one and ONLY down note for me in the whole movie.

I have so much beef with Kara’s parents I might actually hate them. Every single thing to be said about them is negative!!

honestly, it's really crazy how kara's parents (in the show) saved her only so she can watch over kal. "you'll journey to earth to look after your baby cousin, kal-el.", "my father sent me to earth to take care of my baby cousin who went before me..." don't you just want your daughter safe? don't you just want her to live? is her life not worth that much to you? her happiness? why must she be spared only to look after some boy? why must you drill into the head of this young girl her life's worth it only if she's giving it away for others? are you not ashamed? ... fucking assholes!

Lena Luthor and Kara Danvers are my roman empire.

They did such a Lois Lane treatment on Lena. A highly intelligent woman, so clever, who doesn't connect the dots but by all means should, especially as close as Kara and Lena (and Supergirl and Lena!) are.

Every single thing about them is love-interest-coded and their chemistry is off the charts from day one. The push and pull, their body language, their dynamic. The way neither wanted to hurt the other and ended up making all of the wrong decisions for the right reasons because of it. The way Kara goes to bat for Lena every single time no matter what. The way Kara offers herself up in Lena's place so quickly even when she's just found out that Lena has kryptonite. The way Lena is so hurt by Kara keeping such a huge secret and the way it hurts Kara to keep it.

They keep throwing men at both Kara and Lena who only have half the chemistry and it just feels forced every single time. I refuse to believe that it's just because I'm a lesbian and therefore probably biased.

James and Lena? Bad.

Mon-El and Kara? Horrible.

The best thing they could've done, the thing to give the show the most closure, the most satisfying ending, would have been to have Lena and Kara get together in the finale.

when you think about it teenagers of the next generation will never get to experience a cw show with 7+ seasons and 22 episodes per season. they will never know what it's like to be insanely obsessed with a mediocre show with mediocre writing and mediocre acting (with one really good actor carrying the show on their backs). they will never know the feeling of fighting weekly in the trenches for your ship only for the writers to screw you over. they will never be so increasingly disappointed by the worsening writing choices as the seasons progress and they will never know what it's like to watch the worst series finale after investing years into a show. and that is the biggest tragedy.
