International rescue is an organisation dedicated to protecting anyone and everyone, operated by people with far more patience than many of us can claim to have.

But you’re all human, so what type of people (behaviour-wise) are your least favourite to deal with?

Now this.. this is a question. Buckle up, cause we're gonna be talking about something a little more serious. Over the past few years of being part of IR, i have met so many kind and wonderful people, and i am so grateful for that. It makes me happy to know that there are good people out there, and that the world isn't just one disaster after another. Then again, while i say that, there are people out there who still have strange and confusing points of view for our time. To answer your question Anon, my least favourite thing to deal with whilst on rescue is when the people i'm supposed to be helping start to tell me their ideals of what a girl should be. It's surprising to know that even in 2060, there are still people out there who hold weird grudges and stereotypes again women and girls. I've had the random gross comments about how i look, how my uniform sits, the whole 'get back in the kitchen' stuff, and even just pure hatred towards me because i'm female rescuer. That behaviour is just.. not needed? If you get my drift. Your life is at stake, and the first thing you say to your rescuer is an outdated stereotype. Wow, real charming to say to the only person who can help you. After a while, you just learn to bite your tongue, nod and get the job done, but still it just isn't needed! These kinds of stereotypes can make and break a person!

To spin a positive out of my huge.. rant, i'll leave you something my Mother said to me as a kid; 'never let anyone tell you who you are, or who you are meant to be.'. Hope that answered your question, anon. Thanks for stopping by. Wise words, mama. Wise words...
