I just saw a post that I think is a sign. I struggle with really bad depression that I haven’t been able to get medicated for. I’ve been neglecting my hygiene for way too long now since starting college, and I feel like I need to fix that right fucking now. It’s almost midnight where I am and I might accidentally wake somebody up, but I need to shower, shave, brush my teeth, wash my hair, face and hands. I hope I don’t bother anybody, sister especially since her bedroom is right across from the bathroom, but this has gone on for way too long now. I think I’ll daydream about my newest novel idea while I’m at it. Those characters aren’t gonna design themselves, after all.

I am reviving my blog from the dead just so I can contribute to an argument that NOBODY in the SCP Foundation fandom was having.

I think I wanna make another side blog dedicated to the current project I have going on. I posted about it on the Butterfly Boys one, but for those who don’t follow me there, it’s an Invader Zim longfic. I’m a fic writer who thirsts desperately for validation like a bird in a desert, so it’d be a nice way to build hype, I think

I also currently have a playlist in the works that I’ve dubbed the soundtrack. Because I’m generic and name every chapter with a lyric from a different song, I’m compiling them all into one nice little place on YT. I’m also making a Spootify version, but that one’s gonna be incomplete until some of the songs on YT get crossposted there

Would anybody be interested in that side blog if I made it? I know that people don’t really care much about The Opal Crown, so like...? It’d just be progress reports, hype posting, mini excerpts and, eventually, chapter announcements (since I’m not posting anything until at least half the fic has been written). I’d also have to wait to make it until I have the picture I want the pfp to be. A friend of mine who made my AO3 icon might be doing some art of the MC from chapter seventeen, so it’d be nice to have that as the icon on Tumblr too

If anybody cares to know, the MC is, and I can finally admit this shamelessly, very much an SI-OC (Self-insert original character). They aren’t exactly like me, of course, but they’re nonbinary, sort of submissive in a bad way for a good long while before character development sneaks up on them, an actor who loves horror, feminine clothing, masculine terminology (boyfriend, king, prince, et cetera) and the color blue. I had fun putting them together though :0 I’ve been listening to their playlist on loop for a while lately to get motivation to write

We were under diagnosed.

See, AFAB, POC, and trans people are severely under diagnosed.

I am AFAB and as white as they come. I showed classic autism traits as young as 6 months:

I didn't talk until I was 4, I cried and squirmed if touched, I showed no interest in others, I didn't hit my milestones, I didn't make eye contact, I lined up my toys by colour and size and showed intense interests.

My mum took me to the doctor 3 different times. The diagnosis? She's just taking her time.

See, up until quite recently, the old school of thinking was that AFAB people couldn't be autistic without intellectual disability, too.

POC are more likely to be viewed as just defiant and be given a personality disorder as a diagnosis, ignoring everything else.

Trans folk are misjudged or just outright ignored based on their AGAB. And in some places it's dangerous to be trans and autistic.

So, we're not faking or finding this trendy (although perhaps some online personalities are. I can't say). We've been waiting for answers for decades.

Read this one while wearing my most comfiest PJ pants. If you’re curious, they’re made of thin, soft material and are loose enough to swish around when I walk. Tiny bits of lace trim at the bottoms, which reach about to my upper shins/calves, are striped different shades and hues of urple, and they have an epic drawstring waist that makes for a great fidget

Reasons why I love pajama pants:

-they are loose and comfortable and not a sensory nightmare

-they are fun colors like pink and green

-they fit over my big fuzzy leg warmers that I always wear

-they look good with my baggy t-shirts

-they are good for keeping cool in summer

-they are also good for keeping warm in winter

-they fit over my superhero costume so I can quickly shed my normie disguise and begin fighting crime

-they have deep pockets

In lighter news that doesn’t involve me throwing myself a pity party, I’m gonna start making dolls

The idea is plush dolls of my OCs. Yarn for hair, buttons for eyes (specifically buttons the color of their eyes, not just plain black) and probably a decent amount of felt for clothing since it doesn’t fray. Starting with simpler designs first. Zorya, then Jubilee, then maybe Lakhi if I think I can get curls right with the hair.

I’LL try to post pictures once Zorya’s done. I’m gonna put her in the outfit she wears in her original incarnation, so not in just a swimsuit and lanyard.

Anybody know any good stores where I can get this stuff for a reasonable amount of money? I’d need yarn, buttons and probably also wool and cotton stuffing. It’s gonna be a long process, especially with the amount of hair that Z has, but I’ll do my very best

I have a few more characters that I’m considering adding to the Opal Crown. Poppy, an addition to the housekeeping staff, and Octivette, who’d be the doorwoman

But like, it’s had barely any interaction. I’m really passionate about it, but it seems like nobody else is. I’d love to just do it all for myself, but you really can’t have an ask blog if nobody asks any questions. So I’m wondering if it’s even worth it to add these two. I’d really like to include them, especially Octivette since she really doesn’t have a home right now, but what’s the point if nobody asks anything of my ask blog?

Okay so Chandler is definitely going to use xe/xir pronouns instead of they/them. I’m running into a small roadblock though.

So, the way I write character bios, I have a section labeled, “Gender + Pronouns,” where I would say something like, “Nonbinary - They/them,” or, “FTM trans - He/Him.” With this in mind, is there a specific word/label I would use for Chandler’s Gender + Pronouns section? Obviously I’d have xir pronouns written out like I did with the other bios, but what word(s) are used to describe people who use neopronouns? Help?

Working on a new OC. I don’t think they’ll be part of the Opal Crown since I’m making them specifically for fanfic purposes, but they do exist

I’m considering a specific name for them. Tell me, does this name, Chandler Miracle, sound like a name that Chandler themself would make jokes about? Also which spelling of their nickname is better, Chandie with an IE, Chandy with a Y, or Chandey with an EY? My original thought was the IE because I like the way the letters look together, but then I thought of it like the name Andy and think that the Y would work well too. In Braille, I like the way Chandey with an EY looks, but Chandy with a Y is also pretty nice. I really don’t like the way Chandie with an IE looks in Braille, but like it in print. Thoughts?

Also feel free to spitball ideas for what they might look like. All I have so far is that they are nonbinary, although I may end up changing them to have them use Xe/Xir instead since I don’t currently have any OCs who use neopronouns and want to experiment with that. Also that they have a noticeably asymmetrical face. One eye slightly bigger than the other, one cheekbone sharper than the other, crooked smile, possibly heterochromia if I’m willing to relive the discomfort of all the bad character designs with heterochromia I made when I was like twelve. Everything else is totally up for changing though

Also, before anybody asks, yes, I checked. Miracle actually is a surname. Also Villin is too, I shit you not

Okay update on my last post. I decided last night that there’ll probably only be seventeen or eighteen characters to work with, all with their canonical ages changed to better fit the setup. I have decided to make it a fancy hotel, but really working in that dream job aspect of it by saying that most of them also live at the hotel.

In case you couldn’t tell, this idea was inspired by the Casino Cups ask blog. The hotel might have a casino attached, but I’m not sure.

All the characters included would have specified jobs. The ones I’ve thought of so far are bartender, entertainer, hotel manager, housekeeper, janitor, waiter at one of the attached restaurants, hotel owner, barista at the attached coffee shop, receptionist and overworked unpaid intern-

Like I said, I think this could be a lot of fun to make, but I don’t know if it’d get any interaction. Thoughts?
