obsessed with how Dropout keeps on collecting all of the youtube channel personalities that teenage theater-adjacent queers clung to as foundational pillars of online comfort content (smosh, critical role, starkid, try guys) like infinity stones

the mentopolis cast was actually one of the best pc groups ever btw. world’s worst (but only) detective who can’t stop quipping. rich heiress who adheres only to her own impulses. newspaper reporter who keeps getting herself in Situations only slightly related to the newspaper. speakeasy owner whose mortal enemy is a literal child. ten year old whose only friend is a dog and drives like a maniac. biggest man who kills people via fun fact but has the softest heart also. they solve a murder. sort of. not really actually. they do make the big guy take accountability and action in his life and also punch his boss. absolutely iconic

the love was there. it didnt change anything and it wasnt even thematically relevant and honestly it kinda got annoying to the point where i wished for hatred and malice instead and it ruined the whole thing for me

and so we begin.
it's bright (it's actually quite cloudy), it's early (though later than i'd like), and i'm excited. determined. know i'm going to hate this, but damn if it's not going to be goofy as shit. my first love is the bit and i'm nothing if not committed to her.
our first murph quote of the day is "can you imagine watching this all in one day?" this was not presented as a challenge. but i, a person who once watched two entire seasons of westworld in less than two days while still going to classes because a professor said it was impossible, took it as one.
my goals for today are simple: 1) watch all this insane shit and 2) finish up a couple of crochet wips i've been working on since december. somehow the 15 hours of content feels more feasible.
also - everything will be getting an a-j rating, with a being the worst and j being the best.
enjoy my descent into madness, friends. this post will be updated with individual reviews of everything, and a few other things.

well. given the new mixed bag and bc i’m nothing if not committed to the bit and there are worse ways to ruin a saturday than with horrible media, im gonna attempt to barrel through the entirety of the march sadness bracket this weekend. and decide what truly is the worst thing.
but
yes i have seen many of these things before and yes i will watch them again for the bit. its gonna be a bad time. im excited.
#crying at this#op go bracket seeding strats#like watch the one ranked 8th then 9th then 7th then 10th then 6th then 11th etc etc#making the 'quality' whiplash more and more severe each time#ending with the 'best' and the 'worst' paired together#dealers choice which goes first

one of the best parts of fantasy high is that none of the main characters are in love with each other. they’re literally just the bestest friends ever. there’s also no drama, no backstabbing. just bestest friends. they’re all ride or die and would do anything for one another.
this becomes even funnier when you realize that the messiness got passed on to their parents instead. all of them have fucked each other. they’ve cheated on one another. there’s even been an std spread around them. they’re the pilf polycule.
