Its kinda funny if you think any boy, most precisely a teenager, wouldn’t grow insecure after all that happened from chapter 199 up to 204. And only his friends are sorta to blame? Cause lets think it clearly Alibaba is just like any teen (the elast was a teen about 19 when this happened).

Rememeber when we were tricked by Alibaby he and Toto were dating? When everyone was expecting that of him considering his age and tittle as gladiator? Even Sharrkan had the dumbest idea to state gladiators get ladies AND late night visits (sex) frequent?

And ofc he’d lie about it since not only his teacher but his friends; EVERYONE expected that of him. And liek the good friend he doesn’t want to disappoint his friends nor have them suddenly go form looking up to him to down on him.

And who’s the first girl to pop in his mind and happens to drunkly stare at him/ them? That’s right! Toto.

Obviously no matter how much he wanted the lie to last even inform Toto about it in the morning his friends wouldn’t wait a second to bomb her with questions. To where Toto clears things out she’s not dating Alibaba or anyone for that. (even imply Alibaba was dating Garda lmafo)

And those familiar with the story know well why this blondy hasn’t got a girl until now (and no leave out jokes about his virginity). He was mostly focused saving the world, his friends and improve in mostly everything. Though admits it himself he wanted a girlfriend.

And here he’s going back and forth contradicting himself of actually getting few girls attention (chapter 200) yet in chapters like (203-204 madly in love) Alibaba took one roller coaster ride like “No girl ever looked at me! I want someone not just date me but love me for me! DO I ask to much? Is there something wrong with me to not get just that?“ Its so strongly it almost make us viewers believe it IF it wasn’t for this panel.

Conclusion? I think Alibaba is aside insecure within these arcs but also confused teenager. He doesn’t know how love works nor dating but has high expectations from it.

We’re talking baout a boy who state his type of girl is HIS GIRLFRIEND yet has not nor is dating currently also to him love is basically this:

all sunshine and rainbows? Too naive and childish if you ask me (also this is form 203 when he thought him and morgiana were a thing just cause she asked him to stay by his side forever AS HOUSEHOLD MEMEBER)

Though having his dreams crush and sort of heart broken twice in row by ironically his friends regarding said matter ofc he’d grow insecure to some point. I think these pages speak for themselves

Alibaba exe had a meltdown. Oh, brother you just wanna hug him but also laugh at his naviety. And luckily Mor talked aside hug things out with him (and aside the whole wait for me talk) otherwise he’d been a much worse mess regarding love topic in future chapters.

In volume 12 of MAGI, Jaf’ar announces that the magic items and treasures gotten from Zagan’s dungeon are valued at 3 million dinars. While I totally acknowledge that this number was probably picked just to mean ‘a whole lot of money’, the math is a little too tempting.

Firstly, according to historian Andre Clot, an early Abbasid (late 700′s) dinar is 4.5 grams of gold.
