This is a special comic strip for my webcomic, Visual Diary of My Life.
The speech bubbles are blank because they reference a personal two page comic. I requested Steve Prince to voice it for me.
I will not share the recording, but I will share what I saw in my mind when I listened to his take.
Steve cracked younger Ken's voice on the line here and it absolutely broke my heart.

Visual Diary of My Life Extra
I have a lot of hard days in my life, and sometimes those days I muse over the idea of talking to my favorite fictional characters.
Over the last several years I've been trying to be kinder to myself. On one of those hard days, it finally occurred to me that of course Ken, the bearer of the Crest of Kindness, would be the one to say 'Be kind to yourself', especially as his older self.
At first, I sketched this comic with Ken as his younger incarnation from Adventure 02. I purposely avoided drawing his face and expression as I felt as though I was 'forgetting' him at the time (I think the first sketch was circa 2020/2021). I ended up cleaning the sketch up late last year and depicting Ken as he appears in 02: The Beginning, because he grew up like I did. I feel like choosing that version of him really sells that he's grown up and is reminding others of what he learned.
I originally wanted to keep this little comic to myself, but I think it's worth sharing for other creators or anyone else that needs to hear this...
