OCs and Tattoos
It’s been almost a year since I’ve last written here, but as I finish up my Dulcedomum app and details... it also made me think of other characters that I had thought that Annie and the Harts might know in that universe. It also helped me think about characters outside of that universe, too.
So here’s a relaunch post regarding tattoos.
Annie: Annie’s only tattoos are her pact marks. So they’re not actual tattoos, but I thought that they would count. For now, she has 3 yellow dots under each eye. Thinking into the future and how I might set her up for a pact with an Earth spirit as her 2nd, her next tattoo may be somewhere on her torso. They’d be shaped like fangs or a shark bite along her shoulder or her stomach. LAB (Little Ankle Biter) is shaping up to be a
Mint: She has 4 tattoos. Stars on both sides of her neck, an elephant on the side and under her ribs, and a crosshairs over her chest. That last one she got after a very bad breakup when she was in her late teens and it brings up memories of Bon Jovi’s “Shot Through the Heart.”
Marcos: Who would be a Praetor and comes from a long line of Praetors who have met an untimely end, has either the full Psalm 23:4 or just “Psalm 23:4″ tattooed somewhere on his body. It might be over his heart or on his bicep. I think his parents were religious. If/ when he gets married, he’d also be the type to have a blank band tattooed to his finger.
---
and that’s how far I’ve gotten because I’ve gotta finish up Christmas shopping.

Did another one of these because I needed a reason to relax tonight and I tend to set these up from the beginning to the “end” although there’s not really an end. If I knew that 8 years ago, Mint, Mango, and Mulla Jalloh would be some of my favorite characters to use, I would’ve thought so much harder about names. Hahaha … but they’ve kinda stuck and their mother wasn’t “all there” anyway.
Mulla Jalloh, the oldest girl of the 9 Jalloh siblings, has had arguably the most tempestuous life of those in the broken family. As teenagers, hard times and trying to live in a house of neglect lead to the rooting of questionable ethics as the 3rd, 4th, and 5th child (Malachi, Mulla, and Maximilian respectively) entered adolescence and became acquainted and later worked for black market dealer, Andre Jackson. Double her senior, Mulla later found herself listed in tabloids as the “Teenage Homewrecker” when Andre was finally arrested and his wife, Holly, a “reality TV show celebrity” found her life exposed . A creative and irreverent writer, a pregnant Mulla took matters into her own hands, and began recording her time with Andre knowing that if she should ever write about experiences it should be during the trial of the year - she would also later testify at his trial. Mulla has done much to survive and while her ethics are no less questionable, she has found creative means of surviving and single-handedly raising her daughter, Donatella. Nowadays, she can be found traveling between various properties and selling houses to a number of people and secret creatures. While gold digging days are behind her, she still treats herself to the finer things in life…now that she makes her own money.
Because who likes making moral, innocent characters all of the time!

Last one? Maybe. These are fun, especially when it comes to sort of introducing characters that I wish I had more energy/ inspiration to draw.
Alma is the youngest of the “de la Luna” family and the only U.S. born citizen in her family.
Alma’s the youngest sister of Anjo de la Luna, but I’ve recently begun using her for a monster RP. Anjo dies when she’s about 7, but the two share a love for memes and sarcasm. 8′D; She’s an angel and in the universe angels are “chosen” by other angels who are moving up to a higher rank and need someone to replace them. A variety of people who have had a near death experience are “chosen” and they are expected to figure and sort out what their purpose is without any help. They also are pitted against other “chosen” angels to see who can do the job the best. So imagine just waking up in a pile of your own blood (usually) with no clue of what exactly is going on other than you have a new set of wings (which no one but other supernatural beings can see) and the ability and desire to pull dying spirits out of their shells. Then imagine that in the 3-months that you’re unknowingly given to “figure shit out”, that you are unable to figure out that your new purpose is to lead people to death; therefore, leading to your life is taken from you (again)because the angel who “chose” you sees your inability to figure this crazy shit out as a failure. Angels are assholes, man. Still working the kinks out but that’s the gist of it.
Sarcastic, witty, and hard-working, Alma is a 20 year old college student who is majoring in Nursing. Learning to cope and figure out her new responsibility as an angel she is still trying to maintain a normal life of working hotels, helping the family on the farm she grew up on, and assisting her parents in becoming naturalized citizens.
Others that I’ve done:
Isseti
Milagros “Mila” Zapata

I decided to do another one of these before my 2nd illustration class today. They feel meditative and make me feel less crappy about not actually drawing anything for a while and posting here. 8′D;;;;;;;
This time I’ve done Milagros ( X )
Milagros has bounced around between having been a possible Dulce NPC and being a Morpheus demigod.
As a wizard: <i> Born in 1920 on a farm along the border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, Milagros “Mila” Zapata discovered that she was a wizard during El Corte of 1937. Her first pact was made with a wind spirit named Carnero and her second with the shapeless light spirit named Mente. A rather distant young woman, Milagros prefers sleeping in cozy spaces, drinking tea, and learning to read to any sort of physical training. She is exceptional at mimicking sounds using wind. Seemingly aloof, Mila’s most recent conquest is healing and while most of her focus is on physical wounds she also finds herself willing to offer psychological counsel.</i>
As a demigod: While not the strongest of fighters and almost always preferring talking to fighting, Mila, a 16 year-old Morpheus demigod, exceeds in dream interpretation, pillow forts, and finding the coziest places to relax. Her gifted weapon is a machete.
<b>Ones that I’ve already done:</b>
Isseti
Note: I don’t own any of these pictures and because of that, if there’s anything that you’d like me to remove please send me a note!

I haven’t drawn anything for a while and so while I’ve been bumming around sick today, I decided to try my hand at something creative.
I’ve seen some fabulous artists create character aesthetics/ inspo/ whatever boards for their own characters and I wanted to give a shot at Isseti (x | x )who is kind of a background character right now, but is someone who I’d like to use more in the future.
Isseti’s original universe was as an electric eel mermaid who also happens to be blind, then she was recreated to be a Hades demigod who also happens to be blind, but can raise undead soldiers, find diamonds, and monitor people’s life forces (which turns out that she’s usually one of the first to realize that someone is dead), and finally as one of Annie’s friends from art school - who happens to be a musician who is skilled in a number of string instruments and also happens to be blind. Things that seem to stick with her in whatever universe are a) her blindness, b) the colors orange and light blue, and c) electricity (which is why sorta thinking about switching her to Zeus).
This was fun and inspiring - at least when it comes to wanting to do more. I need something to seriously kick me out of this art rut that I am in.
Also should note that I own none of these images and so if anything is yours feel free to ask me to remove. Thanks!

I think it’s time to revive this blog now that I have Anjo and other characters that I should keep track of.

Headcanon where Isseti is a friend of Annie's who has visited the ranch and she's encountered Elena's (Annie's mom's spirit) in subtle ways. Mostly the spirit shifting the earth a bit so that Isseti doesn't trip on a root or something.

Matthew is someone that I have to draw again, too.
He's an interesting character since he's a zombie apocalypse survivor, incredibly intelligent and adaptable to ever changing situations, and is also a little person.
He teams up with fellow college peer Jane Saint Christopher who is just as smart and capable as he is in finding creative solutions to survive. The two have nearly parted ways several times, but in the end they're the only people each other trusts.

Brianna Morahan never really cared about crushing on foreign celebrities. She was much more into crushing on the barrel racers, bull riders, and wannabe country singers in her hometown.
That is why when she becomes the "other woman" in a scandal between her and a rather famous foreigner, she is struck rather blind by this. She's utterly embarrassed as news travels quickly throughout the small town. She decides to move outside of her quiet hometown into a city where she attends a ballet school and focuses the hurt feelings from the scandal into her studies. Soon people forget, but sometimes it's brought up again, especially when the the company travels to Europe.
Also... fun fact of sorts... Brianna inspired Anastasia's mother Elena since both work and have an affection for horses. I think that she has some sort of relation to the Harts maybe Elena taught her how to ride or something. Or Elena was a family friend and a friend to Brianna's mother who died of brain cancer. Or maybe the Harts buy their horses from the Morahan's who also own a ranch and breed horses. Dunno yet. She'd have no clue about the wizards and guardians in the Hart family though.

Kajin Reznik (who I have to draw again because this is a VERY old drawing) was part of a rather scandalous affair between a woman and a priest. In demigod universes, this woman is Eris who drops Kajin at his father's doorstep.
His original universe is sci-fi where he's a cyborg part of a 3 person team. He's the only male. Dislikes and conflicts a lot with his teammates, especially since he doesn't agree that the leader should be a woman. While his personality is more geared towards offensive attacks, he's actually the support in the trio which sometimes isn't as great as it sounds. Given that some of his abilities are geared towards him being the only healer, he takes advantage of this and sometimes chooses that he won't support his teammates in this way.
Does that make sense? I'm tired and need to get to bed but there it is

Although it's hard to imagine them existing in the same universe (Rogelio is an exorcist dealing with demons while Alma's original universe is far more sci-fi) ... I kinda imagine Alma and Rogelio being related in some way and having a brother-sister relationship.

Need to redraw Rogelio so badly, but yeah
I imagine him and Freya in the same universe.
Rogelio's original universe was one where exorcists existed and fought against monsters
Freya's universe is pretty similar
She interacts with ghosts/ poltergeists/ the occasional demon a lot and sometimes have to rid of them (exorcise or whatever). She typically has some around her that haven't crossed over which kinda creeps Rogelio out.
Rogelio has an immediate "kill" instinct when it comes to creatures that aren't supposed to be in the human world while Freya tries to hesitate and figure as to WHY they're there.

Working through my list of demigods since some things have changed (and I still haven't finished Heroes of Olympus series so it might also change again )
Also note, that some of these aren't expanded on in the demigod universe. I just tend to try and figure out what god/goddess parent or cabin a certain character might fit in with regardless if they're supposed to be for this universe. It's kinda like my liking of associating them with a certain element or bending type. =u=
I'll just put a * next to the ones who was originally meant for the universe or heavily influenced from it.
Apollo: *Wendy Dakota Rockefeller
Poseidon: *Francis Thames Aphrodite: Anastasia Hart Mint Jalloh
Hephaestus: *Penelope Kihike Marcos Hernandez Demeter: *Rosa Flores Yeon Sang-Min Hermes: *José García-Peña Rogelio Miranda (de Jesus) Hecate: Ayawa Baddoo Ares: Blythe Hayden Donatella Vidal Dionysus: Diego Kaan Jane Saint Christopher Hades: Isseti (who needs a last name at some point)
Hypnos OR Morpheus: *Milagros "Mila" Zapata Eris: Kajin Reznik Hudson Papandrea Huntress of Artemis: Esperanza Guerrero del Rosario

In universes when Freya is not involved with ghosts (which is like never) ... Freya and Isseti are students at some artistic school. Isseti's a music student while Freya expresses herself creatively through film. I also imagine that Freya's interviewed Isseti a couple of times about learning how to play violin/ cello. Isseti also contributes some background music to some of Freya's films.
Of course ... when in universes where ghosts and the supernatural come into play, I don't think Isseti's as in tune with things as Freya. Maybe she listens to Freya as he tries to solve some of the undead's problems. Isseti may have attracted the spirits of some musicians, too. That's probably how they meet ... Freya noticing that some people are following Isseti.

I got to see a live show today
so of the string instrument there was violin and cello and ... of course it inspired some Isseti stuff.
Still trying to figure out what instrument she's strong in
I keep thinking of a fiddle and her playing the Devil Went Down to Georgia.
Dad probably taught the fiddle. Dad might also be Irish while mom's Egyptian, both are very much sea lovers.
I also think I may change Isseti's color scheme into something nautical.
All of this writing has been rather random but yeah... I thought i'd write it down before I forget.
Isseti: Mixed Irish-Egyptian cellist/ violinst/ fiddler
Child of Hades when in demigod universes. Mother always Egyptian.
Mermaid in original universe. Nautical theme plays importance to this although I think I might prefer a blue, orange, and maybe purple or red thee for her. Some deeper colors
blah blah blah

Isseti was named by a friend of mine who suggested the name when I wasn't sure what to name her.
She might just be a child of Hades in demigod universes. I think she is also part Egyptian.
Since "Set" is in her name, I think perhaps her mother took inspiration from that? I dunno ...
