Night at the museum
Taken in January when I was visiting my local museum. It was already pretty dark in the roundhouse.

The black swan
My Rivarossi DB 10 001. I saw like a few months before I got her as a model. My pfp is actually the real DB 10’s front.

„Just two bros watching the show“
BR 80 023 and BR 86 001 sitting in the shed watching all the chaos. The roundhouse was pretty empty because everyone was watching the big parade outside. So had free view of these two.
More info about those two tank engines see below:

“Peekaboo”
Just a BR 50/52 vibing in the back while little Molli is on another of her rounds in the front. I just was sitting around when I noticed the big loco. I love the scattered light from the birch trees

“The green O&K Narrowgauge Fieldrailway steam locomotive”
Parallel to the miniature railway runs the narrow gauge field railway. And on that day they had two steam engines running. This green one and a black and red one. I rode behind the red and black one later that day. Charming little engines.

“Klein Molli”
This adorable miniature gauge loco is named after the locomotive Jim Knopf gets gifted by his friend and father figure Lukas in Micha Ende’s “Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer” This bean was built by her owner. And actually often ran at the Bahnpark Augsburg Mini-Bahn. She did derail at one point but wasn’t damaged. I stayed at the miniature railway most of my stay because it was far less crowded (the people in the back suggest what commotion was going on).

“Die Taigatrommel”
One of the many nicknames this class of Sowjetmade Diesel-Electric locomotives has gotten over the years. In Poland they are called Gagarin. This particular one was exported to the GDR (East Germany). The second engine I photographed at Chemnitz. I own two of that class in model from through my father. Not sure which ones tho. (Will update when I checked).
For a bit more information see the link below:

“Big old Jumbo
Literally the first pic I took at Chemnitz last August. Jumbo is the nickname of the BR 44s and it suits them. They are big chunky fellas. The DR ones like this one used to be oil fired. They are heavy goods engines. I hope to acquire one in H0 because I am lacking a heavy freight loco.
For more information about this particular engine:

Munich Round trip with BR 01 066 and 52 8168-8
Tumblr media
One of the stars of this was this fine lady. 01 066✨
Tumblr media
I didn’t ride behind her. But it was still an amazing little extra.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I rode behind this darling. I love doing those detail shots. I’m not a fan of doing photographs out of the carriages. I just enjoy the ride.
Tumblr media
And after the trip I waited for the train to depart for its second run. The platform was crowded af. So I decided to “shoot after” the engine.

Someone got a polish today
Me and two other people polished this old lady today. It’s Madame Eugénie and she was all dusty 😭. But now she looks as gorgeous as ever. I bet the other engines in the shed were jealous lol.
Tumblr media
But also something really annoying happened too. We came back from lunch break and in the meantime a pidgeon had shit onto the freshly polished smoke deflector😡🤬 This flying rat can count itself lucky we didn’t find it otherwise we would have cooked it! But hey now she looks amazing.

Engine Spotlight: DB BR 03 131
Tumblr media
Hey it’s one of Charlie’s sisters. But this 03 ended up in West Germany. So she didn’t undergo the Reko program of the DR.
Tumblr media
For most of her working life she was stationed in Hannover. She rolled out of Henschel works on the 11th of November 1933. (St. Martins day). She was withdrawn two times one time on the 25th of September 1969. Then on the 1st of September the following year she returned to service until the 24th of May 1972 when she was withdrawn for the second time.
Tumblr media
She was then brought to Munich for static display. In 1975 she was transferred to the DDM with other engines. She got there a new tender which previously belonged to 01 111 and her old tender was scrapped. Now she is on static display. Representing the 03s in that museum.

Engine spotlight: Brigadelok 1757
Tumblr media
It’s a trenchbaby! This little goober was one of the reasons I was excited to visit the museum.
Tumblr media
Those who know @duncandonuts06‘s art recognize that this is Schätzchen. Well one of his siblings. This darling was built in 1917 by Henschel Cassel.

It hid away a bit, but I found him 😼

Engine spotlight: DB 10 001 aka Frieda
Tumblr media
It’s Frieda folks. The real deal built in 1957. She placed in one of the outer shed berths.
Tumblr media
She was one of two engines built by Krupp. And later gained a fully fledged oil firing. Her class was meant to replace the 01s, 03s and other express engines.
Tumblr media
But she was too heavy for most lines so she and her sister saw limited use.
Tumblr media
This picture of her front number plates is one of the best shots I took yesterday.
Tumblr media
Looking forward to returning to the DDM. She’s the mascot of the museum.
Bonus:
Tumblr media
I couldn’t resist guys. Me and Frieda are never going to be best friends. I’m sorry but she has the personality of an empty sandbox. A shame her basis got the bottom of the barrel character wise. I made her into spoiled teenage princess who’s always a tad over dramatic.
