synopsis- Reader is described to look like a goddess, she gets stares everywhere she goes and has both men and women throwing themselves at her. Liu Kang also shares this infatuation for y/n, and it’s about time she knows how Liu Kang feels.

it had been around nine months since the first time you and Liu Kang had met

since then, there had been many encounters from others expressing how beautiful you are

and though it’s flattering it also becomes a little tiring

it’s awkward to walk around and feel so many unknown and unwanted eyes on you

because of this, you confide in Liu Kang, thanking him for treating you as a person and not some model

though he’s very much love to compliment you daily, he knows it’s a bit out of line for him and your current relationship

one day, Kung Lao jokingly says that if no one’s willing to court you he’d be happy to do so, which in turn makes you awkwardly laugh off his ‘joke’

since then, Liu Kang had been subtly trying to hint that his feelings are more than just friendly, however he fears you don’t seem to be catching on

there's a lot of moves that you two do together that just make fighting so much faster

it’s mainly serious for the most part but there are small moments where you both simply smile at each other and just kind of act like school kids

more importantly, you both are badass together just as much as you are apart

the two of you train a lot together, so fighting with each other isn't entirely out of the normal you know?

for Liu Kang, he feels a little more at ease when fighting with you mainly because he doesn't need to worry about you getting too hurt since you know, he's fighting with you

if anything was to go wrong while he was fighting with you he'd feel terrible about it and would most likely blame himself to no end

poor baby just wants you to be safe, so if he can, whenever Raiden sends you both off to do something Liu Kang tries his hardest to be with you every step of the way

He knows you can handle yourself but there's always a small fear that's in the back of his mind that just reminds him that you can in fact get hurt and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it
