Sorry, I don’t recall addressing you.
“You’ve got my attention. Are you just going to stand there or are you going to do something with it?”

Yes, he told me. Well, if you can meet me in a few that'd be fine. I'll be finished with rounds soon and I can take a couple of hours to relax by the Lake. xo Rose P.S.- The drink is fine with me, but you'll be the only one having some tonight.

I’m--really quite good at being nonmagical, actually. I’ve never felt like I was missing anything. I have plans. I’ve never felt--lesser--for it.
By all means. I appreciate the truth, no matter how blunt.

I’m afraid you’re asking the wrong person.
Is there a charm or something to silence peoples’ chewing noises? Because I could really use that at the moment.

Attending Hogwarts wasn’t a part of my academic plan. If I may be frank.
Ah. { He pauses. } Do you want to be here– really? Or do you wish you never transferred?

What makes you say that?
“Those are the best kind,” he replied assuredly, before continuing diplomatically, “though I don’t think I ever saw one that I didn’t like.”
“That being said,“ he confided, “I’m not sure any one will ever measure up to the ones I had in France. Things are different there. You seem like you’d fit in.“

I won’t claim to be savvy about magical history, but the principle has truth to it. Humanity proves it time and time again.
We’ve both kind of tried that already. But… People are stupid. And motivated largely by fear. I guess we can’t trust ourselves enough to interact with people different than us. And I guess that’s because it’s… a privilege we’ve lost.

Or if, perhaps, one or the other repurposed the word to suit their own cultural needs. To Muggles, squibs are fireworks that are smaller and weaker, or that don’t explode whatsoever. Duds. To magical folk, squibs are essentially, for lack of a better term, dud wizards.
It is, a bit. Language can be funny though. Have you ever tried googling the word squib? To Muggles, it’s a type of firework. So then you have to wonder if the word started with wizards or with Muggles or if both just developed the same word with totally different meanings.

It was unnecessary. You were rather courageous to intervene.
Normally I’d let people row, it’s their business but that one was unnecessary. It was an awful thing to witness, I had to do something.
I don’t get why people just can’t be nice, it’s not hard.

A little owl told me you haven't gotten around to seeing the Giant Squid. How about you and I sneak some butterbeers by the Great Lake and go sea creature watching? A little cousin bonding is much needed. xo Rose

Oh, it’s--not often I get carried away.
I knew a girl in primary whose parents owned a French bakery. She’d bring little treats for us from time to time, that’s how I first encountered macarons.
I had a blue one, with vanilla bean filling. They’re still my favorite, too.
“For what?” he cocked his head to the side, swiping his parchments to the side with his forearm, as he continued, “I don’t remember France very much. Just flashes. Dining in with escargot and baguettes and buying macarons for the walk home.”
He blushed, remembering,“They’re still my favorite.”

I think I’ve only just now realized this is a privilege.
That’s okay.
