I hate to be the bearer of bad news but...

I think I’m gonna have to call it quits unfortunately. I just don’t have the time to keep this blog up and running anymore. I won’t be deleting anything, but don’t expect any new posts. I’ll be graduating from university later this year and I have to keep up with my studies. On top of this there’s a few more reasons...

What I’m about to say next isn’t directed at my followers personally -- I don’t mean to offend anyone: When I joined Tumblr about 4 or 5 years ago, it was a pretty cool place, and I’m being totally honest, I genuinely liked spending my time here. Over the past year or two, however, it’s gone to hell, I don’t know how else to put it. Everyone is so hypercritical, hypocritical, and ignorant, it REALLY turns me off. People on here say “we treat everyone equal,” but it’s just a cesspool of close-mindedness and hate if your stance or opinion is even slightly different. To be honest, I’ve stopped using [my main] Tumblr for a very long time, but still logged on to keep this place up and running just for you guys! However, because of the reasons previously mentioned, mlp-captions will be going on permanent hiatus for the foreseeable future. I just can’t bring it to myself to do this any longer.

I’ve lost some very close friends due to the arguments and hypocrisy this site creates. I took it upon myself to just quit cold turkey so as not to lose anymore friends and the friends who remained did the same and we’re honestly better people because of it. Tumblr just all around made me very unhappy and cutting it out of my life has made me feel a whole lot happier. It was probably the best decision of my life.

Another determining factor for the permanent hiatus is I’ve kind of fallen out of MLP. Rarity’s still best pony, but I’m definitely not as into it as much as I was before. Heck, even during season 5 I wasn’t that excited about new episodes coming out. You may recall some weeks I started late? That’s because I didn’t have the enthusiasm to do it. I may get around to watching season 6 on my own time if I feel like it, but I don’t have much of that anymore.

On a brighter note, mlp-captions officially turned 4 years old on April 1st! I was gonna make this post yesterday, but I didn’t want people getting the wrong idea being April Fool’s and all. I definitely had some fun here with you guys. I still remember a lot of the most popular posts we had here and will probably remember them for a long time to come.

What a wild ride, it was really fun! I need to work on a better schedule for season 6, but with college and stuff it might be tough.

In case anyone wanted to know, we hit 7,124 followers by the end of this. I’m not sure how many we started out with at the beginning of season 5, but it’s definitely a lot! Thanks a lot guys!
