The more "people" cry complaining about "establishment" plots to make Sinner play on Tuesday, the more I enjoy the fact that he plays on Tuesday.

It's a well-known fact that journalists' questions are boring, but I wonder if other tennis players aren't a little tired of being constantly asked about Sinner and Alcaraz.

Without wishing to jinx anything, it's objectively true that Sinner could lose his No. 1 spot after the US Open.

It was bound to happen sooner or later: he won a lot in 2024, and even if he were the robot they accuse him of being, it means the profit margins were relatively low, especially on hard courts, where he has everything to lose and Alcaraz literally nothing and everything to gain.

But you know what, it doesn't matter, because it's already extraordinary that he's managed to maintain it so far, with three months off, so many points missed for the stop and so many missed opportunities for gains. He's held first place in half the tournaments compared to Alcaraz (and I'm sure that in some way Alcaraz felt the lack of his best rival) and Zverev, and in that half, he still has won enough to qualify for the ATP Finals with three months to spare. He won two Slams, and came within one point of a third and a non-solar Grand Slam. He made seven bagels in seven months, and racked up finals he reached without dropping a single set, or almost. At just under 24 years old and after a terrible few months.

I don't call it a failure.

And if things go well, so much the better for him and his fans. Otherwise, he still had an excellent season, and in any case, Alcaraz isn't a newcomer, but a player with a precocious and explosive talent unlike any other in history. It's no shame to give in more than it was for Nadal and Federer every time one gave in to the other.

You're not Djokovic fans neither tennis fan or sport fan or good person, if supporter your favorite instrad of being happy for the incredible point Djokovic is at now and gracefully accepting that time passes for everyone, you need, as adults, to bully a 24-year-old kid you labeled a psychopaths, sociopath, manipulator, soulless robot and even worse because his mind is on the court and not on social media, because he is shy and does not expose himself to the press nor does he force himself to be a showman to be "nice".
