Rarity CG/Reader silent filly mini fanfic

“I cannot believe I got saddled with babysitting.” Rarity grumbles out of your earshot while arranging a variety of nuts, fruits, and cheeses into a charcuterie board.

“No. Remember that gorgeous necklace, Rarity. It is to die for or… rather to babysit for. This. Is. Worth it.”

She takes a deep breath that comes out as more of a huff and prances over to your play-pen that she set up, holding the beautiful selection of snacks in her magic, only to see you’re not there.

She drops the charcuterie board and squeaks.

She looks around frantically but sees you nowhere. She looks under tables and behind every armature she has and you are nowhere to be found. You let out a little giggle.

Rarity lifts the hem of her most prized gown that she currently has in her boutique and you erupt in laughter.

“By Celestia! You scared the living daylight out of me!”

She lifts your squirmy giggly self and walks back over to the pen.

“Although something can be said for your taste. Of all the gowns to hide under, you did choose the most marvelous one.”

“Now, I need to clean up this mess and make you another snack. But what do I do with you?”

Her eyes light up and she lifts some fleece fabric and you up into the air. She wraps you tightly, not too tight, and gives a celebratory “Tada!!”

You squirm a little at first but the comfort of the pressure sets in quick and you become calm. She waltzes you into the kitchen with her and the fallen treats, bouncing you lightly as she walks. She throws away the dirty snacks and begins preparing you a new one. She pulls an apple, peanut butter, and raisins down onto the counter in front of her while gracefully slicing the apple all in one graceful movement. She smears peanut butter onto each slice with equal grace and inlays the raisins like jewels. It was mesmerizing.

In a moment of epiphany Rarity realizes she probably shouldn’t give you any of her porcelain. She puts the plate back down and walks over to a cabinet in the corner of the kitchen. She cringes a bit when she pulls out one of her crystal dishes, but she knows this won’t shatter at least. Once the apples are arranged meticulously and perfectly, she brings you, still bobbing by her side, and your treat back to your pen.

She lays a towel with a lovely pattern down on the ground and unwraps you from your swaddle, placing you and your food down gently.

“~Perfect~!” Rarity triumphantly singsongs.

You indulge in your beautiful baby feast, getting a little sticky but ultimately you are very pleased with the treat.

“Now what am I going to do with you? I learned my lesson with Sweetie Belle; If I don’t entertain you somehow, who knows the trouble you’ll get in!”

She looks pensively around her boutique.

“~Ideeeaaaa!~”

She wets a rag from the kitchen and cleans your face and hooves while simultaneously taking care of the towel and plate.

okay listen up people I am TIRED of seeing people redesign flutter shy as an earth pony and pinkie as a pegasus when their reasoning for doing so is “oh they don’t make sense as a pegasus/earth pony” like that isn’t the entire point? They are subverting the expectations of their species. Fluttershy doesn’t fly as much as Pegasi normally does. Pinkie pie isn’t grounded like other earth ponies are. Isn’t that the entire point of their characters? It’s what makes them more interesting: a Pegasus finding interest in the earth and land animals and an earth pony finding interest in all things chaos and moving, never knowing how to slow down. If you make the choice of swapping what kind of pony they are it’s your choice and I respect that but I do wish people would recognize this more often than not.

EDIT: this post was more meant to talk about redesigns that make flutter shy an earth pony or pinkie pie a Pegasus because “they fit their characters more.” I know their og characters were the opposite but I do feel like the creators of gen 4 made the right choice when making Fluttershy a Pegasus and pinkie an earth pony.
