Episode 11 Season 2 of The Promised Neverland

When Emma convinced Peter Ratri to live with them, I thought there will be an intense hostage scene that will result to Peter and Isabella’s death but to my disappointment only one of them died. I love Isabella but her death in the manga signifies her most crucial character turning point in that story so when they removed it = face slap🤦‍♀️ . However, I still like this scene because we got to see Peter’s relationship with James Ratri and finally know about the promise made 1000 years ago.

When they were about to leave for the Human World, Emma surprised the other children that the trio along with Barbara, Cislo, and Zazie will stay behind to change the Demon World. I thought there was some hope left to redeem this franchise — A fresh start to properly animate GP, Cuvitidala, King of Paradise, Seven Walls, Imperial Capital Battle Arc. 💭 So, their plan was to revive Norman first and then animate the skipped arcs. Hmmm... I think that’s a good plan. I can’t wait for Season 3... 😍👌🦉💭 Damn! I was dead wrong... What the hell was that montage at the end???

It was like watching a slideshow made by an elementary student. I bet it’s an overview of Season 3 if they decided to make it but I’m pretty sure this is the end. Oh my god! What a horrible way of ending this beautiful story!

NorEmma shippers probably got their hearts broken with this..

Because mine was shattered! Who the freak is she??? Norman was cold and unapproachable in the Manga when he was the leader at the paradise hideout so... why is this girl hugging him. Is your name Emma??? Do you have a short orange hair? Did you lose an ear? No??? Then gurl, get your hands off that boi! ✋

Oh wait... My bad! She apparently has two ears again??? 🤦‍♀️

This is what I felt like doing after watching the entire Season 2 of The Promised Neverland

I’m sorry for ranting but that was too much... I appreciate CloverWorks for animating the remaining chapters of the manga but they didn’t have to butcher the story. This season isn’t entirely bad but the story telling was awful. There was no character development especially from Emma, the main protagonist. Tsk! I hope this story will be re-animated properly sometime in the future but for now, I’m glad this nightmare is over.

The Launch!

So, Identity V x The Promised Neverland Crossover finally arrived... last February 23, 2021 which was yesterday. Wohoo! 🥳 sorry for the late post but I’ve been grinding dices for this event and man! It was hard and tiring! The last days of season 14 and yesterday were the toughest matches I’ve been on. Daily matches feels like playing Rank Matches. It’s crazy! Anyway, I guess everyone is trying their best to earn dices and TPN Essences to get their favorite skin or TPN goodies 💪🏼 but no matter how exhausting and tough the journey gets it’s all worth it once you get your favorite skin. 🤩 If your new to IDV and your just interested in the crossover, let me answer some basic questions on how to get the TPN skins and other goodies.

How will I get the TPN themed skins and stuff?

Opening crossover essence gives you a chance in getting a TPN themed skin, portrait, items, and graffiti.

As seen above, the main prizes are the skins. The hardest one to get is the Bloody Queen S-tier Isabella skin. Based on the game statistics, a player is guaranteed to obtain it if he/she opens 250 essences. 🙄 For the A-tier Emma, Norman, and Ray themed skins, a player needs to open 60 essence to get one. Let me tell you it’s tough! I see people getting frustrated on the chat room calling it “The Promised Nothingland” Crossover. It’s funny but it’s true. I have two accounts on IDV, and I saved up 100 dices on each account which were rolled over in season 15. I was able to convert those dices into 14 crossover essences and got another 5 essences from pre-registering for this event. So, all in all, I had about 19 essences on each account but I played some more and got around 23. After the server maintenance on the first day, I opened all of the essences on my first account and never got a skin. I feel frustrated because I worked so hard to get one but didn’t. On the next day around midnight, I opened all of the essences on my other account and got the S-tier Isabella skin on my 7th try so I was on cloud nine. It’s by pure luck!

How will I get the Crossover essence?

You can get the crossover essence by either rolling dices on logic path (2 photos below) or by using inspirations.

How are dices different from inspiration?

Dices- are acquired points from your matches. 1000 points = 1 dice. Victory in a match is equivalent to 500 points. When your team is defeated the points depends on the score you’ve acquired in that match.

Inspiration- are acquired on your weekly login, logic path, or echoes.

What are echoes?

Echo is the currency of the game. You can buy any item on the game with echo except for the TPN skins. Some players buy dices or inspiration to get the crossover essence but getting the skin you want is like trying to win a lottery.

Get a sneak peak of the TPN characters display interface.

Most of the display were patterned in TPN Season 1 opening so I find it nostalgic.

The best costume animation in showroom goes to Ray 🏆

Ray humming Isabella’s lullaby while he’s trying to reach out a butterfly is poetic. In some cultures, 🦋 symbolizes souls and in his case it's the soul of his lost siblings.

Lastly, we see him burning in fire as an atonement for his sins.

I love the minute details added in this event such as,

The VIDA Flowers 🌹

[SPOILER] The VIDA Flower is related to death in TPN. The flower is white and unbloomed when it grows in a field but it blossoms and turns into red when it sucks blood so traditionally, demons in the story pierce their game with this Dracula flower to preserve the meat of their prey.

On the other hand, in order for a hunter to win in IDV, he/she must send 3 survivors back to the manor by placing them in a rocket chair as seen above. The survivor is eliminated if he/she runs out of time sitting in that chair. Netease added Vida Flowers and Dolls on the chair and on the chest of TPN characters to represent the Gupna ritual wherein the prey is offered to the Gods. In IDV, the character is offered back to the creepo who created the game by sending him/her back to the manor.

The flowers turns to red depending on your time in the chair. A red flowers means game over for the player. I think it's these small details that makes the game interesting and more enjoyable to play such as the roller coster and carousel in moonlit park, telephone booth in duo hunters, and tram in eversleeping town to name a few.

Valentine is in the air for this NorEmma moment ❤️❤️❤️

Out of all the characters, he revives Emma. Norman, the embalmer gave up his coffin which is lifeline in the game to Emma. 🥰

The best skin award goes to Isabella. 🏆

I think her overall design looks great. Especially, the mirror that looks like the Grace Field House gate. It’s nostalgic!!! 👏👏👏

Lastly, it's nice that they teased what happend in the story in this teaser. It almost feels like watching a trailer of a TPN S1 episode. I wanted to compare the teaser with Season 1 of TPN but thats a post for another time.

Skip it or Stream it?

Episode 5.5 of The Promised Neverland (TPN) is announced to be a recap episode and it was true to its word.

The question is, should you skip it or stream it?

Hmmm... This is a hard question to answer because I want to fully support the show but I say... SKIP IT! To be honest, you wouldn’t miss anything if you skipped it but the there are some clips that I feel are important. Check out these following timestamps and pay attention to the dialogues of the VAs because I think its clues on what to expect on the remaining episodes.
