what I genuinely adore about ofmd so so much is the fact that they didn't make this show with the intention of getting a ton of views, money and attention through queer fans. They made this show just because they wanted to, a lot of love went into it. They just wanted to give us something to make us happy, and something they themselves just thought would be fun. And the fact that they were surprised over the fact that a lot of people didn't trust them not to queerbait us just shows their mentality. It wasn't really a big deal to them, David Jenkins just wanted to tell a romance. That's all. Pirates were very queer, that's just a fact. They didn't even promote the show as queer until now?? And all of it mostly comes from fans. I love everything about it. Absolutely everything. This show is such a gift.

Relying entirely on donations doesn’t just protect users from invasive advertising and marketing, it also ensures that ao3 can continue to exist as an archive that isn’t censored by corporations or banks.
