Temptation
The Starlite Tavern was surprisedly packed for a weekday. Patrons had gathered there to watch the baseball game. It was the start of the World Series.
Eric and Kate sat close at the bar as they sipped on beers and talked about life.

"I'm starting to feel the effects of the alcohol. Maybe we need to slow down." Eric told her.
Kate smiled at him before chugging down the rest of her beer. "No, I can handle it! I'm a big girl." She gestured for the bartender to bring her another bottle.
"Kate you still have to drive home." He reminded her.
"That's what they got Ubers for." She said taking the bottle from the bartender.
Eric watched as she quickly guzzled it down. He knew she was upset. He needed to do something to cheer her up before she drank herself into a stupor.
He looked over towards the dance floor and people were dancing to some upbeat Chris Brown song. They seemed like they were having a good time.
Eric reached over and gently removed the beer bottle from her hand.
"Hey, what are you doing?" She tried to grab for the bottle but he placed it out of her reach.
"Come with me!" He took her hand and pulled her from the barstool.
"Where are we going?"
"To dance!" He called back over his shoulder.
"Oh ,hell no! I'm not going there with you again." She tried to pull away but he had a tight grip on her hand.
Eric laughed at her. "It's just one dance! Now come here!"
Kate was taken off guard when he pulled her into him. She looked into his eyes and that's when she realized how attracted she was to the man.

"Come on, show me what you got!" He taunted her as he started to move his body to the music.
Kate smiled and started mimicking the dance moves of the people around them. She tried to keep up to the fast tempo of the music that blasted through the bar. After a while she actually started having fun. She quickly forgot about her husband and all the bullshit he was putting her through.
The both of them laughed and tried to show off their best moves. It was hard for them to keep up with the younger crowd around them.
"We must be getting old." She laughed. "I don't know what half of these dances are!"
Eric shrugged. "Me either." He took her hand over her head and spun her around. "Bet these young kids don't know about this!"
Kate laughed like a school girl. She didn't realize it but they had danced to over three songs before the D.J. slowed the music down.
"Alright time to throw on a little something something for all the couples out there tonight!" The DJ yelled into the mic. "This one is a throwback from my boy The Weekend called Often!" The lights suddenly dimmed over the dance floor as the song filled the bar.
"Well that's our cue to go grab some more drinks!" Kate announced as she turned to walk from the dance floor. To her surprise Eric gently grabbed her hand and pulled her back to him. "What's wrong?" She looked him up and down.
"You're not getting off that easy. You can dance to the fast paced music but let's see how you groove to the slow shit!" He smiled down at her as he bit his bottom lip.
Kate laughed at him. "Are you serious? I haven't slow danced since my wedding!"
"Well it's time for a refresher course." He spun her around and hugged her from behind as they started dancing to the song.
Kate couldn't stop giggling. She was tipsy and was embarrassed that Eric was making her dance.
"Kate relax." He whispered in her ear. "Just let the tempo of the music take over your body."
"Ok, ok! I'm sorry. I just can't stop laughing." She tried to hold in her laughter.
"Just match my movements." He told her softly.
Kate closed her eyes and focused on how he felt against her and the tempo of the song blasting from the speakers. She caught his rhythm and quickly got lost within the vibe of the club.
She leaned her head back onto Eric's shoulder. She could feel his breath on her neck and her nipples harden.

He smiled at her. "That's it. You catching on quick." He whispered.
Eric knew he was way too close to Kate due to him being a married man but he was in a zone. His lips brushed against the tender skin on her neck and a soft moan escaped her lips.

Every nerve in her body was on high alert. Any little touch from Eric was driving her crazy. Her emotions mixed with alcohol was about to push her to a place she shouldn't go. She turned to face him and looked into his sparkling blue eyes. She saw in them exactly what she was feeling and knew he wanted her too.
Eric looked down at her lips and slowly leaned in. Was he really about to kiss her?

Kate didn't pull away instead she gripped the back of his head and pulled his lips onto hers.

Soon the kiss became more passionate. Their lips felt so good to one another that neither of them could stop themselves.
Eric gripped her hips and pulled her into him and that's when Kate snapped out of the trance she was in. What was she doing? She was a married woman!
She wiped her mouth and pulled away from him. "I'm sorry but I gotta go! Coming here was mistake!" She turned and pushed her way through the crowd.
"Kate wait!" He called after her.
She grabbed her coat from the barstool and headed for the back exit. She would take a cab or a Uber back to her car. Kate just needed to get as far away from Eric as possible.
"Kate stop!" Eric reached and grabbed her arm. He pulled her body into him and pressed her back against the wall as he kissed her hungrily. He didn't know what he was doing but he needed her in that moment.
Kate didn't try to fight him off. She kissed him back. Eric pulled her blouse up and gripped her B cup breast in his hand. She pulled his suit jacket down as she stuck her tongue into his mouth to meet his. She had never wanted to feel a man inside of her so bad like she wanted to feel Eric. The man just did something to her. He was the forbidden fruit that was tempting her to go against everything she knew was right.

Eric couldn't control his urge to have her. His penis was about to burst through the zipper of his slacks. He looked up and down the dimly lit hallway before he lifted her small frame up the wall. The area was deserted but it wouldn't be for long. He tore off her panties and unzipped his pants releasing nine inches of hard dick. She wrapped her legs around his waist and he thrusted inside of her.
Kate bit her lip as he fucked her in the back hallway of the club. "Ah fuck?" She cried out. Her moans were drowned out by the music blasting through the bar.
In that moment Eric didn't care who saw them. All he knew is that he wanted the woman from the first time he saw her. Now he was enjoying every inch of her around him.
"Ouuuu shit!" He moaned. The woman was about to make him lose it. "Fuck, your shit is so good!"
"Please don't stop!" She cried out. She was so close to cumming. It had been months and she needed a release.
Eric sped up his strokes. "Baby I'm cumming, I'm cumming?" He grunted as he shot his load inside of her.
Kate clenched up around his throbbing shaft as they both reached climax together. All the excitement of them possibly getting caught is what pushed her over the edge. "Damn boy." She said out of breath. Kate had never done anything so wild and spontaneous.
Eric held her up and looked into her eyes. He was really falling for Kate despite him having a wife.
She smiled and kissed him. "I can't believe we just did that."
Eric bit his bottom lip and carried her out the back door with her legs still wrapped around him. He wasn't finished he wanted more of her. He carried the woman over to his car and made her climax two more times in his back seat.

When they were done the bar was closed and the parking lot was empty. They were going at it so hard that they had lost track of time. The both of them were exhausted, covered in sweat and had steamed up every window in his car.
Now that the passion had died down they both sat next to each other in the back seat. Neither of them spoke. The realization was setting in that they both had committed a sin against their marriages. Even though what they had done was terrible the temptation between them was just too strong.
"Eric you can never speak a word of this to anyone." Kate told him as she stared blankly out the windshield.
"I know."
"Can you please take me back to my car now. It's late."
Her words were dry and cold. Eric felt bad that he had crossed the line with the woman. He got caught in the moment and now he had broke his vows to Nia. "Yea, I'll take you back." He said barely above a whisper. He fixed his clothing and climbed from the backseat.
Kate didn't even bother getting into the front seat. They rode back downtown in silence. Eric kept glancing in the rearview mirror at her. He wanted to say something to her, anything. But he just couldn't find the right words to say.
Thirty minutes later he pulled into the parking ramp behind her SUV. She hesitated before she climbed from his car. She looked up at him.
"After tonight we can't see each other anymore. I'm sorry, but it's for the best."
Eric understood. He watched her get out and walk over to her vehicle. He didn't leave her until she safely pulled from the parking ramp. Kate went one way and he went the other. He watched her taillights in his rearview mirror until they disappeared out of sight.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck!" He hit his steering wheel in anger. Everything was so fucked up now. He was wrong for cheating on his wife but at the same time he didn't want to lose what he had with Kate.
An hour later Kate pulled into the long drive way of their mansion and cut the engine. She could see that her husband was not home. Usually something like that would have pissed her off but it was a good thing that she didn't have to face him after what she had done.
She still couldn't bring herself to get out of the car. She gripped the steering wheel and began to sob uncontrollably. She had always tried to be the best wife for her husband but now she had betrayed him.
Kate wiped her tears away and vowed from that moment forward that she would do whatever it took to keep her marriage together.
Across town Eric was dealing with his own transgressions. He pulled into his garage and saw that his wife was still at work. He let out a sigh of defeat and climbed from his car. He went straight in the house and climbed in the shower. He tried to relax but everytime he closed his eyes all he saw was Kate moaning his name.

After his shower he fell across his bed and was finally able to drift off to sleep. Eric hoped sleep would give him some kind of peace from what he had done. He needed a break from his reality but even his dreams haunted him with the erotic images of Kate. . . .

Adultery
Adrian pulled his brand new charcoal gray Bentley Continental up to the valet of The Luxe Imperium. He was 15 minutes early for his date with Nia. He hardly expected her to show up. But if she was smart she would realize what she would be giving up and would definitely be there. At the end of the day it would be her lost, not his.
"Good evening sir. Welcome to The Luxe. My name is Aaron and I'll be parking your car over in V.I.P." The young man told the doctor as he opened the driver door for him.
Adrian climbed from the car and straightened his black Bergdorf Goodman tux. He knew he looked just as good as the other elite members that dined at the high class establishment. Money and power radiated off of him. Even with a doctor's salary he could easily rub elbows with some of the city's finest.
The line of cars waiting to be parked were top luxury brands and some of the most expensive exotic sports cars that could only be imported from overseas. The entire scene looked like a night at the Oscars. He knew Nia would be impressed with his choice for their first date.
Adrian paid the valet a big tip before the guy climbed in his car and pulled off. He then made his way inside of the extravagantly decorated restaurant. He was immediately greeted by the hostess.
"Good evening sir. What is the name of your reservation?"
"It's under Wells."
The sexy Albanian woman quickly looked over the list and smiled when she found his name. "Please follow me sir. Your guest has already arrived."
Adrian raised an eyebrow. He was shocked that Nia had even beat him there. "She is?"
"Yes, she arrived about ten minutes ago." The woman said over her shoulder.
When they got to the table Nia wasn't there. He looked around the restaurant but didn't see her. He frowned. "I thought you said she was here?"
"She may have went to the ladies room. If I see her I will let her know of your arrival. Your waiter will be right over. Enjoy your meal!" The woman nodded and walked off.
"Thank you." Adrian told her as he went to sit down but froze when he saw Nia walking towards him. His mouth dropped open. The woman was gorgeous and the outfit he picked out for her fit her body perfectly.

Nia was impressed by Dr. Wells appearance as well. She had only seen him dressed in hospital scrubs and white lab coats up until that point. The man cleaned up well and she remembered why she was attracted to him in the first place. He was fine as hell and so damn charming.
She almost didn't show up but the doctor had left her a trail of bread crumbs to follow before they met up that evening. He texted her to go to the Marriott. It was a five star hotel that over looked the bay. She had heard of how nice and luxurious it was to stay there. Once she arrived he sent her a text to go to room 1634 on the 16th floor. It was a presidential suite on the top floor. She caught the elevator up to the room and to her surprise it was already a key card sticking out of the lock. She reluctantly opened the door and gasp when she saw what was inside. It was a trail of rose petals that led through the suite over to the King size bed. The room was filled with over fifty vases of red roses. It looked like she had just walked into a rose garden. Red heart shaped balloons that said I love you floated along the ceiling and the dozens of lit candles on the night stands made the room glow.

Nia covered her mouth when she saw the rose petals placed in a big heart shape on the bed. In the middle of the heart was a rectangle box that had Fendi in bold letters engraved across the top. Next to the box was a envelope with her name on it. She picked it up and opened the red card inside.
"I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL I SEE YOU TONIGHT BABY. I GOT YOU A LITTLE SOMETHING TO WEAR FOR THE OCCASION. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT! LOVE ADRIAN. . . .
She smiled and opened the box. Inside was a black and silver floral printed Fendi two piece dress and a pair of matching heels. She knew the outfit costed him a fortune. "Oh my God this is just too much!" She smiled as she looked around the room. The man had went over the top to impress her. Nia was now second guessing herself about breaking off their affair. Adrian was everything she wanted in a man. It was just so hard to let all of that go.
After she contemplated back and forth with herself she finally decided to get dressed and go meet him. She had to admit his taste in women fashion was impeccable.
She was happy Adrian had made things so easy for her. Everything she needed was already in the hotel room. Nia never had to go home and risk bumping into her husband. She made up a lie that she was working late and left it at that.
Nia had arrived to the restaurant thirty minutes early. She wanted to beat Adrian there just in case she had second thoughts and could leave before he even arrived. Of course she went against her better judgement and was now standing only several feet away from the man that was stealing her heart.
A big smile crossed his handsome face as his blue eyes traced her body in amazement. "You look wonderful." He told her.

Nia blushed as she walked up to him. "You're not so bad yourself."
He pulled her into a hug and she melted in his arms. The man smelled good as hell. She almost didn't want to let him go when he pulled away.
"Please sit!" He pulled a chair out for her.
She sat down and he sat across from her. Nia couldn't get over how sexy the man was outside of his work uniform. He was cleaned cut and kept his hair cut low to his scalp. He was fair skinned with thin perfectly shaped pink lips, sharp features and a set of light blue eyes that made her panties wet everytime he stared at her. It was funny that he had some of the same features that had attracted her to her husband.
"I see you came." He smirked over at her.
"Well be lucky I did!" She shot back. "That shit back at the hotel was little much don't you think?"
"It ain't never too much when it comes to you." He told her.
Nia couldn't help but smile. The man made it hard for her to keep up her tough girl act. She couldn't push him away even if she tried. . . .
Eric and Kate didn't realize how much time had passed as they sat and chatted in the back of the cafe.
The place closed at 9 pm and it was a quarter til.
"I can't believe we sat here this long." Kate smiled across the table at him.
"Right, time really flew by." He checked the time on his Rolex watch. He wasn't really in no rush to go home. He knew his wife wouldn't be there anyway. "How about we go check out Starlite. I could use a beer or two." He suggested to her.
She checked the time displayed across her cell phone. She knew she should be getting home. Even though her husband was hardly ever there at a decent time she still respected him and tried to be home before it got too late.
"No, sorry. I should be getting home."
"Hey, it's no big deal. Maybe we can take a rain check." He told her. Kate could tell he was disappointed.
She stood up and put on her coat.
"Thanks for dinner. It was nice." She told him.
Eric waved her off. "Hey, anytime! You're good company!"
She tried to hide her smile. He was good company as well. She was really starting to like spending time with him. "So are you." She told him.
He stood up and pushed his chair in. "Let's get out of here!" Their eyes met and Kate had to look away. She couldn't stand to look him in the eye for too long. It made her heart skip a beat and her body temperature rise. It was just something about Eric that drew her into him.
Without a word they both headed for the exit. Once again Eric placed his hand on her lower back and held the door open for her. "Where did you park?" He asked.
"In the parking ramp."
"It's dark out here. I'll take you to your car." Eric told her.
"No it's ok."
"Just come on. It's no problem, really!"
"Are you sure?"
He smiled over at her. "Yeah, it can get pretty dangerous around here at night."
While Eric cleared out his passenger seat for her, Kate decided to give her husband a call to let him know that she would be home soon. Of course it went straight to voicemail. She shook her head. The man might as well not even had a cell phone. Everytime she called it would either ring and no one answered or went straight to the voicemail.
Eric looked up and saw that she was visibly upset. "You ok?" He asked in concern.
She shook away her thoughts and smiled at him. "Yeah, I'm good."
"Well let's get you to your car!" He held the door open for her.
Kate suddenly got an idea. Maybe she could use a drink too. Wasn't no point of going home to an empty house. "Change of plans. Maybe I'll ride with you to the bar after all."
His face lit up. "Really?"
"Yeah, you drive!" She winked at him as she climbed into the passenger seat.
Eric was ecstatic. "Cool!" He ran around to the driver side and they headed towards the bar.
Kate sat in the passenger seat looking out the window. Her mind was on her husband and what he could possibly be up to for him not to answer his phone. The feeling in the pit of her stomach told her that it wasn't anything good.
Eric glanced over at her. "You haven't said a word since we left the cafe. You sure everything is ok?"
Kate let out a heavy sigh before she looked over at him. "Do you find me attractive?" She suddenly asked.
Her question caught him off guard. He found the woman very attractive but he wasn't trying to look at her in that way. "Uh, yeah. You're a beautiful woman." He told her. "Why you ask that?"
She looked back out the window as tears filled her eyes. "I remember when my husband felt that way once." She let out a snicker. "Now I'm not so sure. I mean how can you cheat on the woman you asked to spend the rest of your life with? Can you make that make sense?" She looked over at Eric as a single tear ran down her cheek. "I don't know how much more I can take. I cook, clean, wash his clothes, run his bath water! Hell I even suck his cock whenever he wants it but seems like he haven't even been wanting that lately."
Eric almost choked. Her blunt statement had caught him off guard. He didn't know what to say. All he knew is that he felt her pain. His own wife had been pushing him away as well.
He suddenly reached over and squeezed her hand to let her know she wasn't alone.

"Don't beat yourself up for being a good wife." He told her softly.
His touch instantly made Kate relax. She looked over at him and smiled. "Thank you."
"Don't ever let anyone make you feel like your not good enough."
She nodded. "I needed to hear that."
"After we toss back a few beers this conversation will be added to the tons of other shit that needs to be forgotten. We're not going to let anything else ruin our night." He smirked over at her. "Now cheer up!"
She laughed at him and interlaced her fingers with his. She could feel the sparks flying between them as they held hands. Eric could feel the sparks too but he didn't let her hand go until they made it to the bar.
The both of them knew what was brewing under the surface but neither of them wanted to acknowledge it. It all felt too good to face the reality that they were entertaining someone else's spouse. Eric and Kate felt they could never cheat on the one they loved. But sometimes cheating was a very thin line that could easily be crossed in the right circumstances. . . .
Back at the restaurant Nia was just finishing up her meal. She had lobster tails and steak with a side of mixed vegetables and a baked potato. She was stuffed and ready to go. It was late and she was tired.
Adrian could sense her urgency.
"Woman relax! The night is young!" He told her as he turned up his wine glass and took a long sip.
It was well after ten at night. She was supposed to be home hours ago and she didn't need her husband questioning her whereabouts.
"Look, I can't keep lying to my husband like this!"
He shrugged at her and belched loudly like he wasn't sitting in a fine establishment. "That was your choice to lie to him, not mine! I don't have to lie I just do what the fuck I want!"
Nia frowned at him. "Well unfortunately Adrian everyone doesn't have control of their situation like you!"
"Well looks like you need to get control of it, quick! I didn't pay for all of this for you to just up and leave." He narrowed his blue eyes at her.
Nia was taken aback by his remark.
"Look nigga, I didn't ask you for any of this. That was your choice to be on that extra shit! I told you this situation needed to stop anyway."
He suddenly grew angry and put his foot around the leg of her chair and used it to jerk her chair closer to him. She gasp when her stomach slammed into the edge of the table. He leaned forward and glared into her eyes.
"You need to stop tripping Nia?" He said through gritted teeth. "You want this shit just as much as I do! You know your ass can't get enough of this big dick so stop fronting like you don't know what the fuck this is!" He hissed.
Her eyes got big, she had never seen him act like that. "You got me fucked up!" She snapped at him. "I'm leaving?" She tried to get up but he had her pinned in the chair against the table. "Adrian stop!" She whispered over the table to him. The man was starting to scare her.
A devious smile suddenly crossed his face as he put his hand under the table cloth. Nia jumped when she felt his hand going up her inner thigh.

"Adrian what are you doing?" She tried to close her legs tight but the man used his other leg and forced them open. "Stop!" She told him.
He ignored her plea as his fingers tickled the crotch of her lace thongs. He watched in astonishment as she tried to squirm free. His eyes flashed with excitement watching her expression change from anger to pure pleasure. He found his way through the thin fabric and forced his middle finger into her juicy hot vagina. He could feel his manhood start to rise while he teased her most sensitive spot.
Nia hated that the man had so much control over her body. She couldn't stay mad at him. The doctor knew exactly where to touch her to get her to submit to him. She bit her bottom lip as he pressed against her g-spot with his finger and tickled her clitoris with his thumb simultaneously. She was going to cum right in the restaurant in front of all of them people if he didn't stop.
Adrian watched her chocolate skin turn a dark hue of red and start to shimmer from her sweat. He loved watching the woman react to him. She fed his ego every time he made her reach an orgasm.
"Baby please stop." She whimpered. "Please."
"Are you going to start following my instruction?" He asked her softly.
"Yes." She moaned.
"When I call you are you going to jump when I say jump?"
"Yes baby, just please stop or I'm going to mess up this dress!" She whispered trying not to moan too loudly. "You're about to make me cum." She leaned her head back on the seat "Please stop. I can't do that here!"
Adrian's smile grew wider as he took her right to the edge and suddenly removed his hand.
Nia's body went limp in the chair. She was so close to releasing and was pissed that she couldn't finish. Her body and kitty was tingling and at the brink of ecstasy. She looked across the table at him with lust in her eyes. She watched the man suck her juices from his fingers. Adrian was a freak and she loved it.
"You better take me back to that room, now!" She told him.
He smirked over at her. "I thought you'd never ask." He pulled out his wallet to pay for their dinner.
Nia was horny and wanted Adrian to finish what he started. She stood from the table and excused herself to the ladies room. She needed to freshen up before they left.
When they got back to the hotel Adrian was already ripping the dress off of Nia's body. He picked her up and sat her on the sink in the bathroom.

He kissed her passionately and pressed his big throbbing penis against her clitoris. He teased her with the head before he finally entered inside of her.
Nia gasped as he stretched out her canal. Her moans of pleasure filled the bathroom as he pounded into her. He gripped her round booty and forced himself deeper. He could feel his tip hitting her cervix which almost made him cum prematurely. He had to try his best to not release before he pleased his woman.
"Fuck, your shit is so good!" He told her as he nibbled on her earlobe. "You gonna make me leave that bitch!"
His words made her pussy wetter. Nia wanted him to leave his wife for her. She wanted the man all to herself.
Adrian pulled out of her. He wanted their time together to last all night long. He wasn't trying to cum yet. He pulled off the rest of his clothing and carried Nia into the shower. He turned on the warm water and pressed her body against the glass. He lifted her legs around his waist and slid her onto his shaft. Their love making quickly steamed up the entire bathroom.

Adrian took Nia's mind, body and soul to places it had never been before. When she was intertwined in his web she forgot about everything even having a husband. She forgot all about time and the consequences she would have to face. All she could think about was how good he made her body feel. They stayed making love under the warm water until Adrian nutted inside of her. Nia knew the risk of unprotect sex but when she was with him she didn't care.
He turned off the water and took her hand. He guided her over to the bed of roses and laid her nude perfectly proportioned body on top of them. He wanted to kiss and tease every part of her. He started at her pedicured toes as he sucked each one into his mouth. Then he kissed up her foot and lifted her leg and began to work his way up to her body.

Nia arched her back as he kissed up her pelvis, across her toned belly up to her hard nipples. He sucked each one between his teeth sending shock waves to her groin. He began to kiss his way down her abdomen to her shave kitty.
"Ouu shit?" She cried out in pleasure as his tongue flicked against her clitoris. The man went to work putting his entire face deep into her goodies. He used his lips and tongue to make love to her most sensitive spots.
When he felt her trying to pull away he gripped her hips and used his strong arms to keep her legs open to him. Adrian didn't stop until he sucked the soul right from her body. He knew the people in the next room heard her screams as he made her climax.
Nia's body couldn't take anymore. She was still full from their wonderful dinner together and now the man had fucked her senseless. She was exhausted so it wasn't no surprise that she rolled over and instantly drifted off to sleep.
Adrian smiled down at her. He knew he was the best at what he did. Fucking the sexy ass woman fed his ego. It was like an addiction to him. It was no way he would ever let her go.
He yawned and stretched his back. Adrian was tired himself after putting in so much work. He laid down next to her and pulled her petite body into his. He cradled her from behind until he soon fell into a deep sleep. . . .

Intriguing
"Helfah I've been calling you all morning!"
Nia jumped from her deep thoughts just as her homegirl Trina walked up to her table.
"Oh, hey." She sat up to greet her friend.
"So you just go for coffee without me now?" Trina folded her arms.
"No, I uh, I just got a lot on my mind this morning."
Trina sat down across from her.
"Like what?"
"Nothing important. It's work related." Nia lied.
Her girl gave her a look. "I don't believe you!"
"Well I have no reason to lie." Nia checked the time on her watch. "Look, I have to go up to my office. I have a conference meeting with the medical board this morning." She stood from the table and grabbed up her cup of coffee.
Trina was right on her heels. "Nia I know you. I can see it's a lot deeper than just work!"
Nia rolled her eyes. "I told you what it was. Now just drop it!"
"You can't hide shit from me forever!" Trina smirked.
"Bitch ain't shit to hide!" Nia laughed at her nosey friend.
The both of them caught the elevators up to the 12th floor and made their way over to the nurses station.
Trina's face lit up when she saw the bouquet of pink roses laying across the counter. "Ouu bitch! Someone got me some roses!" She gushed.
"I thought you weren't dating anyone." Nia squinted her eyes at her best friend.
"Girl it's always good to have a secret admirer!" She picked up the flowers and smelled them. "Oh shit they even left a card!" Trina's smile suddenly faded when she saw that it was for Nia.
"What's wrong?"
Trina shoved the flowers in her face. "They're for you!"
"Me?" Nia was surprised. She reluctantly opened the envelope with her name on it. She pulled out the card and read the short message on the inside.
"TO MY WHOLE HEART". . . .

Nia looked on the back and it was dinner reservations for later that night at The Luxe Imperium. It was a five star restaurant across town. Only the elite could afford to dine there.
Trina folded her arms. She was jealous that her friend was so lucky. "Eric is so fucking romantic! He still spoils you after all these years."
Nia quickly tucked the card away. She knew it wasn't from her husband at all. She knew exactly who they were from.
"Yeah, he sure is. He's just full of surprises." She said through gritted teeth. Nia was pissed at Adrian. The man was starting to over step his boundaries.
She couldn't believe how bold he was to send her flowers on her job. The last thing she needed was for anyone to get any indication that they were secretly messing around.
She burst into her office and tossed the flowers onto her desk. Nia jumped when her phone suddenly rung. She pulled it from her lab coat and saw that it was Adrian.
"What do you want?" She answered with a lot of attitude.
"Damn, that's how you talk to the person who had roses sent to you?" His deep voice laughed in her ear.
"Because that was a dumb move! What if someone saw you?"
"Woman you think I was foolish enough to bring them myself? I had them delivered."
Nia sat down behind her desk. "I told you this shit needs to stop!"
"You know you can't stop fucking with me." He told her with way too much confidence.
"I can and I will!"
"Just meet me tonight. We can talk over dinner! Allow me to redeem myself. Maybe we can just start over."

Nia rolled her eyes. "You must be hard of hearing? You can't redeem shit and it ain't no starting over! I said we're done!"
"Are we? Because you said so? Just meet me at 8 tonight and don't be late!" He hung up in her face.
She looked down at the phone and frowned. The man had a lot of nerve telling her what to do. She shook her head and got up to go tend to her patients. The last thing she needed on her mind was dealing with Adrian and his bullshit. . . .
Eric sat at his desk staring out the big picture window. His view of the skyline was blocked out by all the tall sky scrapers that surrounded his law firm. He chewed lightly on the end of his pen as his mind went back to his night at the bar. All he could think about was how much fun he had with Kate.
"Attorney Clapton someone is here to see you."
He spun around in his leather chair to see his young brunette secretary standing in the doorway of his office.

"Send them in!"
"Right away sir!" She nodded and walked off.
He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. He had been feeling real stressed lately and the last thing he wanted to do at that moment was deal with a new client.
"Here she is sir!" His secretary opened the door and the woman stepped into his huge office.
Eric's eyes traced up from the floor, up the sexy pair of legs, to the black skirt that stopped just above the knee on up to the attractive white woman who was leaning against the frame of his doorway.
She walked over and stopped right in front of his desk. The woman smiled back at him. "Hey cowboy!"
Eric was shocked to see that it was the woman from the bar. "Kate! What are you doing here?" A smile instantly crossed his handsome face.
"I was just downstairs getting some paperwork notarized and remembered that your law firm was in the same building. I just came up to say hi. I hope I'm not intruding."
Eric slowly stood from his desk. He buttoned his suit jacket as he eyed her intensely. "Oh, not at all. I mean, this is such a surprise. It's funny, I was just thinking about you." He told her.
She blushed. "Well I hope it was all good thoughts." She laughed nervously.
He walked over to her. "Look, since you're here how about we go next door to the cafe and grab a bite to eat."
Kate waved off his invitation. "Oh I couldn't possibly interrupt your day like that. I know you're a busy man. Like I said, I was just stopping by to say hello before I head back over to the University."
"Come on, you're not interrupting anything. I insist!"
"You sure?"
"Yes, let me just cancel all my evening appointments and I'll meet you down in the lobby!"
She smiled up at him. "Ok, I guess I'll see you down in a few."
He watched the woman walked from his office before he grabbed up his coat and briefcase.
His secretary walked in and saw him preparing to leave. "Boss where are you going?"
"Sarah please hold all my afternoon meetings! I will be back first thing tomorrow to reschedule!"
"Yes sir. What if your wife calls!" She asked him as he rushed out past her.
"Tell her she can reach me on my cell!" He called back as he walked onto the elevator.
Eric pushed the button to take him down to the main floor. For some reason his heart was pounding in his chest and he felt butterflies in his stomach. He didn't know why seeing Kate made him so excited.
When he stepped off of the elevator he saw Kate waiting for him over by the front entrance. A smile crossed her face when she saw him walking towards her.
"That was fast." She told him.
"Well I can't keep you waiting now can I?" He smiled down at her.
He put his hand on her lower back and guided her out the revolving doors. "Let me just toss my things in my car and we can head on over to the cafe."
Kate watched him walk over to an all black luxury car.

He removed his tie and tossed it onto the passenger seat with his coat and briefcase.
"Wait, this is your car?"
He hit the alarm to lock his doors.
"Yes, but it's last year's model." Eric informed her.
Kate was impressed. "I don't care if it was a ten year old car. That's a nice ride." She told him.
"Well thank you." His eyes met hers before she broke his stare. He could tell that the woman wasn't materialistic. His wife on the other hand always wanted the latest and greatest.
"My husband wouldn't get caught dead in a car if it was a year old." She shook her head.
"Sounds like my wife." He snickered.
"Anyways, let's go see about this cafe you keep speaking about." Kate said changing the subject.
"Oh, yeah. Follow me!" Eric led the way over to the small dimly lit cafe that was adjacent to his law firm.
He held the door open for her and pulled out her chair when they took a seat at a small booth in the back.
"You're such a gentleman." Kate told him as she looked around the cafe. It was more like a small bar that gave the vibe that it attracted jazz and poetry enthusiast.
Eric gestured for the waitress to come take their order.
"So what kind of food does this place have?" She asked him.
"Soups, salads and sandwiches for the most part."
A biracial woman with big curly hair walked over to their table. She had freckles and had a big bullnose piercing through her septum. She placed a menu down in front of them.
"How are you two doing today? My name is Tamie and I'll be your waitress this evening."
"We're good!" They both told her.
"Do you guys need time to look over the menu?"
"I already know what I'm having." Eric told her.
She looked over at Kate. "What about you ma'am?"
She shrugged. "I'll just have what he's having."
Tamie pulled out her pen and notepad to write down their order.
"I'm ready when you are!"
Eric cleared his throat. "Well I'll have the clam chowder with the turkey artichoke panini and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon."
Kate raised an eyebrow as she eyed him across the table. "Ain't it a little too early for wine?"
Eric smirked back at her. "It ain't never too early for wine!"
"I guess I'll take the same except I want a coffee straight black." She told the waitress.
"Ok, let me hurry and go put in these orders for you guys! They should be up in about 15 minutes!"
"Thank you!" They both told her as she rushed off.
"So what brought you downtown?" Eric suddenly asked.
"I had to get a few documents notarized for the Dean."
"Dean?"
"Oh, I'm a professor down at the college. I thought I told you that the other night."
"You did." He laughed nervously. "I guess was a little too drunk to remember a whole lot. I forgot I told you I was a lawyer."
"You didn't. I heard the bartender call you by name. Everyone in the city knows who Attorney Eric Clapton is." She teased.
"Oh, so you're stalking me now?" He joked.
"Wait? No! I was, just uh. Like I told you before I was nearby and wanted to say hi and see how you were doing." Her cheeks turned bright red as she tried to defend herself.
Eric laughed and put his hands up.
"Hey I'm kidding! I'm actually happy you stopped by." His blue eyes stared deeply into her's.

Kate could feel her face growing hot. "Is it hot in here or is it just me." She began to remove her coat.
"I think it's just you." He giggled at her.
Suddenly his phone vibrated in his pocket. He pulled it out to see that his wife had texted him. . . .
"SORRY HONEY, I HAVE TO WORK LATE. DON'T WAIT UP! I LOVE YOU! SEE YOU WHEN I GET HOME!". . . .
He let out a sigh and turned his phone off. That was the 3rd time that week that she had to work late. It was like he barely saw her anymore.
Kate noticed the change in his demeanor. "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
"Oh, no. It wasn't nothing important."
She knew he was lying. For some reason she could feel the shift in his energy.
Tamie walked over and placed their food on the table. "Do you guys need anything else?"
"No thank you. I'm fine." Eric told her.
The waitress turned her attention to Kate. "And you ma'am?"
"No thank you. I'm good, thanks!"
Eric waited for her to walk off before he bowed his head to say grace.
Kate gawked over at him as he said a quick prayer over his food before he started eating.
"You even say grace? You weren't lying. Your mom did raise you right."
Eric laughed at her remark. "You act like that's not normal or something."
"Well in my household it's not. The last time my husband was in a church was the day we got married."
"Wait! Are you serious?" He asked, almost choking on his wine.
"Yeah."
"You might want to throw some holy water on his ass. He might go up in flames?" Eric joked.
Kate laughed at him. "You might be right. Sometimes I think I'm married to the devil himself."
"Hey, I aint a saint either. It's been a while since I've been to church. It's going on a few years now. I still read my Bible from time to time. But since I made partner with the firm a lot of my time is spent working on all of these cases."
"Hell, you're the great Eric Clapton. The guy who never loses!" She announced.

"Hey I'm not perfect. I just do my job well!" He told her.
Their eyes met and once again it was an awkward silence between them.
"You sure you don't want any wine?" Eric asked breaking eye contact.
"I guess I'll take a glass." She shrugged.
"That's my girl?" He smiled over at her.
Kate returned his smile as her heart fluttered in her chest. The man was starting to change the way she felt on the inside. He kept her intrigued. She didn't know what it was but being with him made her forget all the bad shit going on in her life. Maybe having him around was just what she needed. . . .

Companionship
It was the next day and Nia had left for work a few hours early. She didn't want to face her husband or get into another argument with him. It seemed that all they did lately was fight. She was just tired of the back and forth so avoiding him was her only option.
Nia sat alone in the back of the cafeteria. She was rubbing the tip of her manicured finger around the rim of her coffee cup. She stared blankly out the window. Her mind was completely zoned out. Things were only getting worse between her and Eric and she hadn't spoken to Adrian in days. She kept asking herself, "How did I get here?" "When did shit go so wrong?". . .
She let out a sigh of defeat as tears washed over her eyes. She already knew the answers to all of those questions. It wasn't that she didn't love her husband but something between them had changed since they met back in college. . . .
Nia had graduated high school as a valedictorian.

The four years that she was there Nia had maintained a 3.8 gpa or higher, so it wasn't no surprise that she ended up at Harvard University. She planned to attend the college to get a doctorate degree in medicine.
She didn't make many friends while away at college but she wasn't there for all of that. The last thing Nia needed was to have any distractions. Her entire focus was on her studies but that was until she met Eric Clapton.

He was there studying law and in his second year of college. At first he seemed a little rough around the edges. He didn't quite fit in with the typical guys who attended the prestige school. Nia first bumped into him in the library. It was funny because she mistook him for the janitor. He was wearing a baggy all gray matching Dickie shirt and pant set like he was from a gang in L.A.. He wore a tennis hat on his head with his curly Afro sticking out of the top and had a silver chain hanging around his neck. The man even had both of his ears pierced. Definitely not Harvard material.
"Hey, can you throw this away?" She walked up to the man and dropped a stack of old magazines in his arms.
He looked back at her with a puzzled look on his face. "What? Do I know you?" He looked her up and down.
"Aren't you the janitor?" She frowned.
He snickered and shook his head.
"No! Do I look like a janitor?"
She sized him up with a look of disgust on her face. "You sure you want me to answer that?"
He looked down at himself. "What? You don't like my new fit?"
"New fit? What the fuck is that?" She wrinkled up her nose.
"Outfit!" He looked back at her like she was dumb.
"Why not just say that?"
Eric instantly found the young woman very attractive. He flashed his perfect smile at her showing off his dimples. "I can tell you're not from around the way."
"Where the hell is that?"
He laughed at her. Her ignorance to urban culture was kind of cute.
"What's so funny?" She asked trying to hold in a laugh.
"I guess what I'm trying to say is that you're not from the hood?"
"Well, no. I grew up in Sag Harbor."
"Oh, so you're one of those uppity rich chicks?"
"Can you please not use the word chicks. It is so degrading." She rolled her eyes at him.
He finally tossed the stack of magazines into the big trash bin behind him. "Let's say we get out of here. I want to show you something!"
Nia frowned at him. "Show me what?"
"You'll see!"
"I don't go nowhere with strangers. Plus I got a exam to study for!"
He sucked his teeth. "Man you can do that shit later! Just trust me on this!"
"How can I trust you? I don't even know your name!"
"It's Eric Clapton!" He put out his fist for her to dap him up.
"Well Eric, I'm Nia Patterson!" She looked at his fist in confusion until he took her hand and made her give him a fist pound.
"Yeah you definitely need to come with me!"
She let out a sigh and threw her hands up. "Fine!" Nia was tired of studying so much anyway. Maybe she needed some companionship other than her books.
She grabbed up her book bag and followed him across campus. The more they talked the more she felt comfortable around him. He talked so fast like he was excited to tell her the next big story in his life.
That night he took her to his dorm room and they watched hood movies like Boyz In The Hood and Menace To Society. He even showed her the comedy movies The Wood, and Malibu's Most Wanted. She had never went through so many up and down emotions in her life. She found herself laughing and crying at certain things that happened in the movies. She kept asking him questions about what certain words and phrases meant. Nia had learned more information watching those movies than she would ever learn attending Harvard.

She eventually dozed off just as the sun was coming up. Eric woke her up a few hours later and asked did she want to go to breakfast. She jumped up in a panic when she realized she had missed her first class.
He laughed and told her she needed to relax. Life was too short for her to be pushing herself so hard. He was right. Nia needed a breath of fresh air and that's exactly what Eric gave her.
The man wasn't her usual type. She hadn't really grew up around many brothers. Her high school sweetheart was a blond hair and blue eyed lacrosse player from Sweden. She always found white men attractive and didn't pay men who looked like her any attention. It was just something about Eric with his athletic physique, fair skinned complexion, intense blue eyes, chiseled features and his deep dimples. She even liked his hood boy swag. He was the opposite of everything she was accustomed to.
Over time she found she had completely judged him wrong. The guy was brilliant and graduate from high school with a 3.9 GPA. He taught her so much about culture and she loved to listen to him talk. They became like best friends and did almost everything together. Over the years they even cried to each other about bad break ups and failed relationships. The both of them watched each other grow and prosper into mature adults. Eric even ditched the baggy clothes, cut his hair and took out his piercings.
By the time Nia was in her 4th year of college she realized that she was really in love with Eric. The man was fine and his intense blue eyes always made her heart melt. She didn't want to ruin their friendship by telling him how she felt but little did she know he was in love with her too.
After awhile they started dating. Nia had experienced her first real kiss with him and he even took her virginity.
It was on her birthday. He took her out for a night on the town and showed her a good time. The man had went above and beyond to make Nia smile. Later in the night he got them a room at the Hilton and put her in one of biggest suites in the hotel.
Eric didn't know it but Nia had been planning to finally give her body to him. She was nervous but eager at the same time.
They sat up all night watching more of his urban movies and comedy shows. She laughed and smiled and Eric loved seeing her happy. He just sat next to her admiring her beauty.
"Nia I love you." He blurted out.
She grabbed up the remote and turned the TV down. She looked over at him. "What did you say?"
He stared back at her intensely. "I said I love you."

Nia was at a lost for words. A man had never told her that before.
Before she could even react, he kissed her. She quickly got lost in his passion and before she knew it he was taking off her clothing. They were both naked as he climbed on top of her.
"Eric wait!" She gently pushed him away.
He looked down at her with so much lust in his eyes. "Why, what's wrong?"
"I'm a virgin." She told him.
He sat back on the bed. "Wait, are you serious?"
She nodded.
"Nia why didn't you tell me?"
"Wasn't something I was exactly proud of. I'm 23 and still a virgin!"
He laughed at her. "Woman that shit is so damn sexy!" His eyes flashed with excitement. "That only makes me want you more!"
She blushed. "Really?"
"Yes, but if you're not ready I understand. I'll wait for you as long as you need me to."
Nia bit her bottom lip as she thought about what she wanted to do next. She felt she was ready to finally have sex with him.. "I want to."
"Baby it's no pressure." He tried to reassure her.
She slowly leaned over and kissed him so sensuously. "I'm ready." She moaned as their tongues met.

Eric didn't need anymore indication that than. He laid her back and gently pushed the head of his penis into her tight wet center.
Nia jumped in pain but he kept going until he finally penetrated her. For the first several minutes she was uncomfortable until it started to feel good. Her body began to react to him. The sudden intense sensations that shot through her vagina made her moan loudly in his ear. She didn't know what an orgasm was but she definitely wanted to feel it again and again. That night he made passionate love to her and it was a night she would never forget.
After the night they shared together they were closer than ever before. Nia was madly in love and it felt good to be with a man that understood her so well.
Right before Eric finished grad school he proposed to Nia in the very spot they first met. Most people would have thought it was a little cliche but she found it very romantic.
Tears of joy ran down her face as she looked down into his blue eyes. He was kneeling on one knee holding up the biggest diamond she had ever seen.
"Nia Alexandria Patterson will you marry me?"
"Yes!" She gushed in excitement. She threw her arms around him and kissed him passionately. Nia felt like she was dreaming. She was really about to be someone's wife.
Shortly after that, they got married in a small chapel in town. It was packed with so many of their friends and family.

It was the happiest day of her life. She was marrying her best friend, lover, partner and life long companion. She wouldn't have asked for a better person to spend the rest of her life with. . . .
Now as Nia sat alone at the cafeteria table, gazing off into space she realized that good things didn't last forever. Her marriage to Eric no longer made her happy. She knew it was all her fault and couldn't blame no one else but herself. She was losing her best friend because she had fallen in love with another man. . . .

Therapy
Eric finally left his office around 8 am the next morning. He loosened his tie as he caught the elevators down to the parking garage.
He hit the alarm on his car and tossed his briefcase onto the passenger side as he climbed into the driver seat. He glanced at his bloodshot blue eyes in the rear view mirror. He was exhausted and couldn't wait to fall into his bed.
He decided to bypass the turnpike. It was packed with the early morning commute and would take him forever to get home. It would be a lot quicker to just drive through town.
He lightly tapped his hands on the steering wheel as Maxwell played softly from his radio. It was just something to keep him awake.
He focused his attention ahead when saw the line of cars suddenly stopping in front of him. "What's going on now?" He asked annoyed. He heard bells dinging and looked further up the road and saw that a train was coming. "Fuck!" He yelled. "Just my damn luck!" He shook his head.
He shifted his car into park and decided to wait it out. It was better than trying to go back the way he came. He pulled out his cellphone and checked on a few of his stocks and emails before he headed over to Instagram. He quickly scrolled down his timeline until he came across a cute picture of his wife. It was funny because she hadn't posted in a while. Eric smiled as he admired her beauty. He was truly blessed to have a wife as wonderful as she was.

"Damn girl, 180 likes!" His smiled slowly faded when he saw the only comment under her picture. It was two fire emojis followed by the words "so damn beautiful!". "Who the fuck is Dr. Hardbody 69?" He frowned.
He clicked on the name and saw just one picture of a man's abs on the person's entire profile. He had over 1,000 followers but it wasn't too much to see.

"Who the fuck is this nigga?" He asked as he went to his wife's profile to check the rest of her pictures. To his surprise the muthafucka had liked and commented on damn near every picture his wife had. Under some pics he had even put the tongue out and eggplant emojis.
Eric looked up and saw that the train had passed and traffic was moving again. He put his phone away and decided to ask his wife about everything later.
After about twenty minutes he was pulling into his three car garage. He walked into their mansion to see that his wife was already gone to work. He took off his suit and climbed into the shower. After he was done he got out and went to reach for his dry towel. He froze when something in the hamper caught his eye.
He reached down into the dirty clothes and pulled out his wife's lacy black thong from the inside of her work scrubs. He held them up in front of his face and squinted his eyes. Why was his wife wearing sexy underwear like that to work? She hadn't worn lingerie for him in months.
His mind instantly began to race as he tried to think of an explanation. He tossed them back into the hamper and went to get dressed for bed. He dismissed his thoughts and focused on trying to get some rest.
Nia decided to leave work early. She was trying to find any way to avoid Adrian. Once she arrived home she had another issue to face though. Her husband was sprawled out across their bed asleep when she walked into their bedroom.
"Shit!" Nia whispered to herself. She tiptoed over to the dresser, grabbed up her night gown and went downstairs to take a shower in the basement bathroom. The last thing she wanted was him to smell sex on her.
She pulled her hair up on top of head and climbed under the warm water. She was enjoying the water washing over her body until she suddenly heard the shower door open.
"Eric what are you doing down here?" She was shocked to see him standing there.
He smiled as his blue eyes traced her perfect wet body.

"Why are you way down here taking a shower?" He asked raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
Nia smiled uncomfortably. "I didn't want to disturb you." She lied.
Her eyes dropped down to his lower half as she realized he was completely naked. His manhood dangled between his legs. She turned her back to him to continue with her shower.
"Eric I'll be up in a minute."
To her surprise he climbed into the shower behind her. She turned to face him and looked at him like he had lost his mind. "What are you doing?"
"Taking a shower with my wife." He whispered deeply.
She tensed up when he gently ran his hands over her shoulders. "I said I'll be up in a minute."
He ignored her as he stepped closer to her. She could feel his penis throbbing up against her. Nia really didn't want to be intimate with him.
"Eric please!"
"Baby come on. It's been too long." He said breathing hard in her ear. "I miss you."
He pressed her body against the shower wall and kissed her passionately. Eventually Nia gave in to him.
Their moans filled the basement as he wrapped one of her legs around his waist and thrusted inside of her.
"Ah shit!" He yelled out as he missed how good she felt around him. He bit his lip as began to go harder and faster. Her pussy was just so damn good.
Nia closed her eyes but all she saw was Adrian fucking her. She tried to push away her bad thoughts but every time her husband pounded into her she saw him.
She clawed at her husband's back imagining that it was her lover. Her vivid thoughts about him was about to make her cum.
"Ooo fuck!" Her eyes rolled back and she squirted warm juices down her husband's shaft.
Eric had never felt his wife cum so hard. It turned him on and drove him crazy. He picked up her small frame and bounced her up and down on his long hard penis. Her skin slapped against his as he made her go into another orgasm.
"Eriiiiiic shiiiit!" She came hard. She didn't know if her body could take another orgasm. "Please stop!" She whimpered.
Eric bit down gently on her neck as he nutted inside of her. "Fuck!" He whispered in her ear. "You're the best baby."
He staggered back breathing hard. He looked down at his beautiful wife and smiled. "Woman you are truly amazing."
Nia looked up at him with lust in her eyes. Her kitty was still pulsating from the multiple orgasms he had made her have. Or should she say her imagination.
He kissed her forehead before he stepped from the shower. "I'll go make you something to eat."
"Thank you." She told him as he closed the shower door and disappeared from the bathroom.
When she heard his footsteps going up the stairs she let out a cry of frustration. What the fuck was she doing? The shit was wrong as hell. How could she sleep with Adrian and Eric in the same day? She felt lower than low.
She sled down the wall of the shower and hugged her knees. She buried her face in between her thighs and started sobbing uncontrollably. She needed to stop what she was doing before everything eventually backfired in her face.
Eric slipped on his pajama pants and quickly made his wife some shrimp stir fry.
He looked up when he heard her phone chime from the counter across the kitchen. He ignored it until it went off several more times back to back. He turned off the stove and slowly walked over to it. It chimed again and the screen lit up.
He glanced towards the basement door to make sure his wife wasn't coming before he picked it up. He saw that she had two missed calls and ten unanswered text messages. He couldn't see who they were from or what they said because her phone was locked.
He didn't know her code so he sat it back on the counter. His mind instantly went back to Dr_Hard_Body69. He wondered if it was him texting her. His wife had been acting different by being more distant than usual and acting like she didn't want him to touch her. He practically had to force himself on his own wife just to be intimate with her. He frowned when he thought about the thongs that she had apparently worn to work. Was she having an affair with a guy from her job? The Doctor in Dr. Hardbody only made sense.
"Were you going through my phone?" She asked when she walked up from the basement.
He turned to face her. "Who is Dr. Hardbody? He seems to be a big fan of yours."
Nia laughed at him. "Are you being serious right now? You're tripping on some Instagram shit?"
"No Nia, it's way bigger than that! You act like you don't even want me to touch you half the damn time! The last few weeks it's only gotten more obvious. Then you're wearing sexy underwear to work?" He frowned at her.
Her smile faded. "Wait! You went through my dirty laundry?"
"No, I didn't have to. I know my wife well enough to know when shit ain't the same!" He raised his voice. "Are you fucking someone at your job?" He blatantly asked her.
Nia was taken aback by his question. "You have the audacity to ask me something like that?"
He shook his head and pushed past her to go upstairs. "The fucked up part about it is that you didn't even deny it!"
She was right on his heels. "No Eric I'm not sleeping with anyone at my job!"
"What about at the gym?" He yelled back over his shoulder.
"How can you ask me something like that? I'm your wife not a fucking hoe in the street!" She shouted at him.
"Well something ain't right, and you need to fix it or I don't know Nia!" He said as he stormed into their room and snatched the blanket from the bed.
She glared back at him. "You don't know what, huh Eric?" She put her hands on her hips.
"I can't be with a woman if she's cheating on me. Now when I said my vows I meant that shit!"
"What? You think I didn't?"
"I don't know anymore Nia!" He cut his eyes at her and took the pillow from his side of the bed.
"Wait? Where are you going?" She asked him.
"To sleep on the couch." He brushed past her and walked from their bedroom. "Good night Nia. Some of us have to get up for work in the morning!"
Nia put her hand over her face in frustration. She heard him stomping down the stairs and knew he was really pissed at her. The man wasn't stupid. She wasn't the only one who graduated at the top of their class. That was what attracted them to one another, their intellect.
Nia knew her husband was starting to get suspicious. It would only be a matter of time before he figured it all out. Her affair with the doctor was becoming too risky. It was time to end it before she lost her husband. . . .
All night Nia tossed and turned until she finally fell asleep. She didn't even hear her husband leave the house.
Eric got dressed and drove a few blocks over to a bar called the Starlite Tavern. After the argument he had with Nia he needed a drink to calm his nerves.
He walked into the dimly lit bar that was decorated with blue and purple lighting. It gave it a laid back and chill environment. He made his way into the back to sit at the bar.
The older white man behind the bar greeted him. "Hey bud, what can I get you?"
"Give me a double shot of Woodford Reserve, hold the ice!"
The woman next to him snickered.
"Well seeing as though you don't look like no country boy. You either got some sorrows you're trying to drink away or heading for rehab real soon! Those are the only reasons someone would drink whiskey that strong. Holding the ice is a bit much."
Eric laughed to himself as he looked over at her. "I take it you don't like whiskey?"
She shrugged. "You're the one thats got to drink it. I'm just making an observation."
He giggled. "Well back to what you said before, it might be a bit of both."
The woman was a slim and very attractive white woman. She was pretty in a down to earth type of way. She wasn't all high maintenance with a bunch of makeup on her face. She was more of a natural beauty.
She raised her glass of vodka up to him. "Hey I ain't judging no man for picking his poison. I got my own demons I'm trying to chase away. I just hope you don't find your answers at the bottom of that bottle."
The bartender sat his glass down in front of him. "That'll be $12.50!"
Eric placed forty dollars down onto the wooden bar. "Keep the change and get the lady whatever she's drinking." He looked over at her and lifted his glass before he tossed back the strong warm liquor. Him being an amateur drinker showed from the twisted look of pain on his face as the liquid burned his insides going down.
"Been a while huh?" She laughed at him.
He nodded as he signaled for the bartender to bring them both another round.
"Maybe you should slow down there cowboy!"
"I will after I black out and forget everything!" He joked.
"Hey I feel you. Alcohol definitely numbs the pain but it only puts a bandaid over the problem." She said as she tossed back another shot of vodka. "One day you gotta face your issues head on if you ever want to truly solve them."
He smiled at her and extended his hand. "Well before we're both too drunk to remember anything I would like to introduce myself. My name is Eric."
She reluctantly reached over and shook his hand. "Well I'm Kate!"
"Nice to meet you Kate."
They both stared at each other before she laughed nervously to break the silence. "So what brings you here tonight"
He smiled at himself and shook his head. "Marriage problems."
She rolled her hazel eyes. "Join the club."
He sat his cup down and spun it around and around on top of the wooden surface as he played with it between his fingers. "So what's your story?"
"Hell, where do I start?" She snickered. "You might want to get us another round for this one!"
Eric gestured for the bartender to bring them more drinks.
"First of all, I'm married to a doctor. Not any doctor but an arrogant chauvinistic asshole. He's gorgeous if you like the type. It's funny, you kind of remind me of him."
Eric turned up his drink and smiled over at her. "I don't even know if that's a good or a bad thing! Though I've never been called gorgeous before. It kind of sounds good to the ears."
She laughed at him as she brushed her long dark blond hair behind her ear. "You're funny."
"Really? I'm usually called up tight or too serious."
Her eyes searched his. "I don't get that from you."

They stared at each other for a minute before he cleared his throat. "So back to your husband."
"Oh yeah! Well to make a long story short I think he's cheating on me again."
Eric almost choked on his drink. "Again?"
"It won't be the first or the last time."
"Well why are you still married to him? You seem like a nice attractive woman. You deserve better than that."
"Nice maybe, but attractive it's been along time since I've been that."
"Come on Kate, you know you got it going on!" He said as he moved his body to the music, teasing her.
She burst out laughing at him. "After seeing that shit I definitely need another drink!"
He put his hands up in surrender. "What? You don't think I can dance?"
"I am not getting involved with that!" She smirked at him and shook her head.
He jumped from his bar stool and took her hand. "Come on, let me teach you something!"
"No, I'm good! I'll just take your word for it!"
"Stop being such a prude and come on!" He pulled her from her chair and out to the dance floor.
Kate laughed as he started doing some off beat dance infront of her. "Hey I thought black men could dance!" She shouted over the music.
He laughed at her. "Right now I'm drunk so it don't count!"
They both laughed as they danced and chatted throughout the night. Being each other's company made them forget about the turmoil that was going on within their own households.
They were having such a good time that they didn't realized how fast the night went. They didn't leave the bar until after last call.
"Hey let me walk you out to your car." Eric told Kate.
"Wow such a gentleman!" She said sarcastically.
He laughed and playfully nudged her. "Hey my mom raised me right!"
"I've noticed." She smiled up at him.
They walked side by side across the empty parking lot over to her silver Range Rover.
"You going to be ok driving home?" He asked.
"After all that dancing, I'm all sobered up!"
He laughed at her again. "You're right, I'm feeling pretty alert myself."
"So you never told me about your wife? Husband?"
He balled up his face. "Husband?"
"Hey it's 2020, you never know now-a-days."
"I have a wife. She's a doctor too."
"Really?" Kate was shocked. "What kind?"
"Urologist."
"Well my husband is a cardiologist. I guess that's why he like breaking hearts." She shrugged.
He giggled at her comment.
"What?" She smiled over at him.
He smirked and shook his head. "Nothing. I just like how you look at everything. Like it's no big deal."
"It's called a coping mechanism."
"Well at least you're able to cope." Eric told her.
"Anyways, back to your wife."
"Yeah, well I think she's having an affair." He blurted out.
They stopped at her car and she leaned on the hood and looked up at him.
"Damn! Are you sure?"
He let out a heavy sigh and looked down at his feet. "I don't know. Shit just been real weird lately. Maybe I'm tripping."
"I guess men have that intuition too."
"I never really liked to assume anything but we just got into a bad argument before I came out here."
Kate looked at him in concern. "Damn, sorry to hear that."
He waved it off. "It's cool. I just interrogated the hell out of her ass. She's pissed to say the least. She asked me where do I get off questioning her."
Kate rolled her eyes. "That's what they all say."
Eric checked the time on his watch it was already after 2 am. "Look, I have to go. It's getting late."
She stood up and unlocked her SUV. "Yeah, you're right. We both still got spouses at home that might be up worrying about us." She said sarcastically.
Eric snickered at her. "At least one of us give a fuck."
She smiled back at him. "Right." They locked eyes again before she broke the stare and climbed into the driver seat and started the engine.
"You be careful going home." He told her.
"You too and it was nice meeting you. It felt good to laugh for once."
"Same here." He flashed her a smile.
"Who knows, we might bump into each other again around here." She winked at him before she pulled off.
"I'll be looking forward to it!" He shouted after her.
He smiled to himself as he walked over to his car. "I'll be looking forward to it? What the fuck was that?" He laughed at himself as he climbed into his car and headed home.
The funny thing about meeting new people is that one may actually come along and make a real connection. As both of them drove back to their homes on separate parts of town they couldn't stop thinking about one another and how much fun they had that night. Maybe it was just the therapy that they both needed. . . .

Complicated
Nia slowly opened her eyes when she heard her work pager going off. She sat up and looked around her neatly decorated living room. It was already the next morning. Nia couldn't believe she had fallen asleep on the couch.
She let out a heavy sigh and ran her hands through her long dark hair. She was still trying to get her thoughts together. After Eric had dropped her off the night before she came in the house and fell out on the couch. She never even made it upstairs to take a shower.
She grabbed her pager from the coffee table in front of her to check the message. She was needed at the hospital for an out patient procedure. They were letting her know that her patient had arrived early. She had been the head urologist at Bentley Medical Center for the last two years. She graduated at the top of her class and had always pushed herself to succeed. Nia had only received her doctorate degree five years ago and had already made it to the chief physician.
Nia finally pulled herself from the couch and made her way up to the master bedroom. She looked over at the empty California king sized bed and saw that her husband hadn't made it back home from his job.

She shook her head and quickly shed her clothing and climbed into the walk in shower.
After Nia got freshened up she walked over to the full length mirror. She pulled her long hair out of the bun that was on the top of her head and allowed it to fall around her shoulders. She smiled as she admired her nude ebony brown body. She didn't have a blimish on her except the light scar just above her groin. She gently touched it and remembered the painful miscarriage that rocked her marriage over three years ago. Eric wanted to keep trying but after taking such a devastating lost, she was set on not having any kids. She had accepted the fact that she would never have a chance to experience motherhood. Her husband didn't share her same beliefs, he just tolerated her decision.
She put on her hot pink matching silk underwear set and took a quick picture of herself in the mirror.

She had to admit she was a little conceded or maybe it was a high level of confidence. Whichever of the two it was, she had worked her ass off in a gym to earn that right. Standing at only 5 feet 3 inches, she had little to no fat on her petite frame. She was perfectly proportioned with a round plump ass, small waist, curvy wide hips, flat toned stomach and perky C cup breast. Her beautiful soft skin, long hair and magnetic smile was just the added cherry on top. Nia was epitome of what every high quality man dreamed of.
An hour later she was rushing out the house to her pearl white Lexus truck to head to the hospital.
She touched up her make up in the rear view mirror as she rushed across town. When she arrived, the heavy feeling in the pit of her stomach from the night before came rushing back. It felt like she was going to vomit. Nia knew being at work was a frequent reminder that she had cheated on her husband.
She parked in her assign spot and cut the engine. It was time she focused on work and nothing else. She needed to push all her thoughts to the back of her mind and put on her game face.
She caught the elevator up to her floor and was instantly greeted by her homegirl Trina at the nurse's station.

"Bitch you missed what just happened!" She whispered in excitement.
Nia laughed. "What?"
"Evidently your patient that was scheduled for that vasectomy this morning didn't tell his wife. She came in here raising all kinds of hell saying she wanted to have more kids and if he got the procedure she was filing for a divorce."
Nia looked around. "Is he still here?"
"No, you just missed him!" She snickered. "I guess your morning is free now! So we can go down to cafeteria and grab a coffee!"
Nia shook her head. "Fine, just give me a few minutes to put my things in my office."
"Bitch hurry up!" Trina waved her off.
Nia laughed to herself. It was their morning routine to go grab a cup of coffee and gossip about the latest things trending. She and Trina had been best friends since med school. They had been through so many ups and down together that they were more like sisters. Trina was pretty with her deep dimples and big brown eyes. She was light skinned and reminded Nia of the actress Lauren London.
She used the key card to unlock the door to her office. The room was lit up from the bright sunlight that came through the row of windows behind her desk. She had the perfect view of the city skyline.
She sat her purse on her desk when she was interrupted by a soft tap at her door. She looked up to see Dr. Wells entering her office.

"Good morning doctor." He said softly as he closed the door behind himself.
Her face instantly grew hot at the very sight of him. "Uh, hey Dr. Wells. Wh-what are you doing here?" She stammered.
He flashed his perfect smile at her which instantly made her panties wet. "I can't come see my favorite doctor? I heard about your patient. It got pretty interesting around here this morning."
Nia laughed nervously. "Yeah, Trina told me."
The man slowly walked closer to her. His intense blue eyes tracing her shapely body.
Nia swallowed the lump in her throat as she took a step back. The smell of his expensive cologne invaded her nostrils which only made her weak to the man's presence.
Dr. Wells stepped toe to toe with her as he looked down deep into her dark eyes. He gently ran his hand up under her lab coat and around her slim waist.
Nia gasped as he ran his palm over her plump ass and squeezed pulling her body into his. Her breathing became heavy as he leaned down and gently bit her juicy bottom lip. She closed her eyes as they shared a passionate kiss. His lips sent electric sensations throughout her entire body. She could feel her nipples harden as his tongue found its way deep into her mouth.
Kissing Dr. Wells went against every vow she had made to her husband but she was already in too deep. Everything she planned to tell the man had just went straight out the window.
His kissing became more aggressive as he snatched off her lab coat and pulled her work shirt over her head. He took off his lab coat and quickly shed his blue scrubs revealing his chiseled physique. He then snatched down her pants and under wear and picked her up and sat her on her desk.
Nia moaned loudly when he entered his well endowed member into her throbbing wet kitty. She threw her head back as he pounded deep inside of her.
"Fuck Adrian, oh, oh!" She cried out as he hit her spot.
Adrian sucked on her neck and breast as he worked his way to his peak. He could feel her body tighten up around him and knew she was having an orgasm. The doctor gave her his last few strokes before he grunted and released his seeds into her womb. They both held onto to each other breathing hard, trying to catch their breath.
The sudden bang on her office door made them jump. "Nia what are you doing in there? Hurry up!" It was her girl Trina.
Nia cleared her throat. "Just give me a minute!"
They both snickered as they heard her walk away from the door cursing Nia out.
Adrian pulled out of her and quickly began to get dressed.
She admired his perfect body. She was turned on by the man all over again but she knew they had to get back to work.

He smiled when he caught her watching him. "What?"
Nia shook her head as she got herself back together. "We can't keep doing this Adrian."
He walked over to her and tried to pull her into a hug but she snatched away. "I mean it. We're both married and this shit is wrong!"
He pulled at her again, not taking what she said seriously. "Baby you can't say you don't love this shit!"
She swatted his hand away. "You need to leave." She told him.
His smile faded. He couldn't believe how quickly her mood had changed. "Are you really being serious right now?"
"Go!" She pointed a manicured finger towards the door.
He shook his head and put on his white lab coat. "You're tripping!"
"And make sure don't nobody see your ass either!" She told him before he walked from her office. She jumped when he slammed the door behind him.
She let out a sigh and flopped down in her work chair. She laid her head back and closed her eyes. She felt so fucked up on the inside. She knew cheating on her husband was wrong. It was the ultimate disrespect to their marriage. Tears stung her eyes. She began to contemplate the entire situation in her head. She loved Eric but the shit with Dr. Wells was just so damn complicated. . . .

Guilt
Eric Clapton pulled up infront of the Bentley Medical Center to pick his wife up from work. He lightly tapped his hands on the steering wheel of his black 2019 7-series BMW as his favorite J. Cole song blasted from his factory speakers. He checked the time on the touch screen radio. It was a quarter to 12am. His wife was late. She would usually be walking out the front entrance around 11:30.
"Where the hell is this woman? I gotta work the graveyard shift on this case tonight!" He said aloud to himself.

He slouched down into the plush leather seat and closed his blue eyes. He was dead tired from working all week on the Wyatt case. Joseph Wyatt was a young spoiled over privileged kid who got caught up in a murder case. Things would've been a breeze if he had been convicted without a trial due to sufficient evidence or him simply pleading guilty but it was very little to charge him on. Not to mention his dad was the mayor of the city. The case was all over the news. The 20 year old Joseph claimed he was innocent and just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Eric knew he would be the first attorney up for grabs. He was one of the most top ranked African American lawyers in the metropolitan area. He had the most successful court cases and the highest rate of wins. Even when all odds seemed to be against him and his clients he was able to find a loop hole in the case and somehow got them to walk out the courtroom a free man. Everyone in the city knew he could get the young man off scott free.
Nia Clapton sat alone in the nurses lounge staring out at the city through the 12 th floor window of the hospital.

She knew her husband was waiting for her but she couldnt face him after what she had done. Eventually she would have to go home and deal with the regret and guilt of her infidelity. Nia didn't know how she would ever be able to look him in the eye and lie to his face.
Dr. Wells poked his head into the lounge. "Nia you ok?"
She jumped from her deep thoughts and cleared her throat. "Uh, yeah. I'm good!"
The handsome biracial doctor smiled. " Oh I didnt mean to scare you!"
"Its ok, I was just about to leave" She climbed from the window seal and brushed past the doctor. He startled her when he reached out and grabbed her arm. "Dr. Wells what are you doing?"
He searched her eyes. "Do you want to talk about it?"

She swollowed the lump in her throat. "There is nothing to talk about" She pulled away from him and walked towards the elevators.
Eric sat up when he saw his wife walking towards the car. He instantly could tell that something was bothering her. She climbed into the car and gave him a dry hello.
"Hey babe!" He leaned in over to kiss her but she turned away and looked out the window. He frowned. His wife had never done that to him out of all the 12 years they were together. "Uh, what the hell was that all about?"
"Nothing!" She snapped. "Can you just take me home? I'm tired!"
The entire ride home neither of them spoke. Eric kept sneaking glances over at his wife but she only kept her attention focused out the passenger side window. He knew she was upset about something. He had known the woman since college and learned her behavior very well over the years.
He let out a heavy sigh and turned the radio up. He just took it as she had a bad day at work and would talk about it when she was ready.
Nia closed her eyes and rested her forehead against the cool glass. She was happy he turned on some music. The last thing she wanted to do was talk. She had a million things running through her mind and her emotions were all over the place. In one hand she was falling out of love with her husband and in the other she was starting to seek that void in another man.
She hadn't been happy in her marriage for months. Ever since her husband's career started to take off their relationship seemed to go down hill. The man was always busy with his work and barely had time for things around the house. They hadn't spent time together like they used to and weeks had gone by since they had been intimate. Arguments had even plagued their everyday interactions. Nia could see the foundation of their marriage crumbling but Eric was just too busy to pay it any attention. In his world their lives were perfect but things were very far from that.
When they made it home Nia didn't say a word, she just climbed from the car and walked into the house.
Eric was about to say something but the door slammed close behind her. His face scrunched up in confusion. He was completely clueless to what was going on with her.
She didn't even give him a goodbye kiss before he pulled off and headed back to work. Eric had noticed her behavior had started to take a turn for the worst a few weeks back but he never spoke on it. He knew her job was causing her a lot of stress because she had applied for the position of medical director and was still waiting for a response from the medical board. He knew his wife had worked her ass off as a doctor to move up to where she was. It would be a very devastating blow if all of her hard work had been in vain.
Now that Eric had thought about the entire situation he wasn't so sure if it was just her job that was bothering her. She had never rejected him before. Something else was wrong with his wife and he didn't like it at all.
He decided to call her but to his surprise she didn't answer. Nia had never not answered a call from him. He looked down at his phone with a puzzled look on his face. He sent her a quick text before he headed up to his office.
HEY HONEY I HOPE YOU'RE OK. GIVE ME A CALL! I'LL BE WORKING ON THIS CASE PRETTY LATE SO IT WOULD BE NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU. I LOVE YOU BABY! I HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER. . . .
He sat in his car and waited about five minutes but she didn't text back. He grew frustrated, grabbed up his briefcase and climbed from his car. He made his way into the tall building that was made of glass and steel and took the elevators up to his floor. By the time he reached his office Nia had finally texted him back. He pulled out his phone expecting to see a nice message back from her but he was disappointed. He frowned down at his phone when he read what she sent.
GOODNIGHT ERIC!. . . .
That was it. No "I love you", no reassurance that she was going to be ok. She even called him by his name like they were formal acquaintances and not husband and wife. No honey, baby or even her favorite name for him which was calling him her "beau". The message felt cold and dry like he was bothering her or something. He didn't even bother to respond anymore. He had other things to focus on at that moment. He would just deal with his wife later.
Eric was at a lost about her sudden change of attitude. Something was definitely off about her. He didn't know what was going on with his wife but he was damn sure going to find out............
Back at the hospital Dr. Wells was preparing to head home. For some particular reason he was dreading it more than usual. He didn't want to hear his wife's complaining about how he had been ignoring her calls all day.
He walked out in climbed into one of the various luxury vehicles that he owned. He drove one of the best looking cars in the entire hospital's parking lot. He couldn't help it, he was a man of extravagant taste. He remote started the car and climbed in. By the time he was pulling out of the parking lot his wife was calling again.
"What do you want woman?" He answered her call with a slight annoyance in his voice.
"Now you can answer the damn phone?" She shouted in his ear.
Dr. Wells let out a heavy sigh. "I'm a fucking heart surgeon! What do you think I just have time to sit around all day and talk on the damn phone?"

"You could have at least returned my calls or sent a damn text or something!"
"Look, I don't have time to go back and forth with you over this. What do you want? I will be home within the hour!"
"You really want to know what I want? I want my damn husband to start acting like he has a wife!" She shot back.
"Look woman, I don't want to argue with you! I said I will be there within the hour, now get the fuck off my phone!" He shook his head and hung up on her.
The woman really knew how to get under his skin. That's why it was so easy for him to sleep around on her. He had to seek refuge in other women just to be happy because he wasn't happy in his own home.
Speaking of other women, a smile crossed his face. He decided to send a quick text to the new woman in his life. The woman kept a smile on his face and his loins hot. His dick was getting a rise at that very moment just by thinking about her.
HEY SWEETIE, I MISS YOUR SEXY ASS ALREADY! I CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU AT WORK TOMORROW. SLEEP TIGHT! LOVE YOU!. . . .
A few moments later she texted back.
I MISS YOU TOO! BUT PLEASE DONT TEXT ME AT THIS HOUR. YOU KNOW I HAVE A HUSBAND. WE DON'T NEED HIM FINDING OUT ABOUT US. . . .
He read the message and sucked his teeth. "Man fuck that nigga!" He laughed to himself and left the conversation.
Dr. Wells didn't give a fuck about his wife or her husband. All he wanted was Nia all to himself. The woman was gorgeous and was everything he ever fantasized about. The two of them had become close when they moved her office up on his floor. They had been innocently flirting back and forth for weeks. It had been so much sexual tension building up between them that when they finally crossed that line they couldn't contain themselves. It was no way he was going to let all that go so easily.
He drove the rest of the way home day dreaming about how he had fucked the woman in the supply closet and then again in the nurse's lounge. He would fuck Nia anywhere. The woman had become his new addiction.
Nia laid on the plush suede couch in her living room staring blankly at the screen of her phone. She waited for any response from her lover but the man never sent back a text. She tossed her phone on to the coffee table and stared up at the ceiling. She felt really bad about what she had done. The woman had only been with one man her entire life but that all ended after she let Dr. Wells into her heart. The man was fine, charming and intelligent. He was one of the top cardiologist in the country. The doctor was very amazing with his hands in more ways than one.
She closed her eyes as she fought back her tears. The last thing Nia wanted to do was hurt her husband and jeopardize their marriage. She felt so much guilt that she was starting to push Eric away. Nia still loved him but she was starting to fall hard for Dr. Wells. The woman was breaking every promise she had made to her husband when she became his wife.
As Nia laid there in deep thought she now knew what she had to do. It wasn't going to be an easy task but what choice did she have?
Her eyes suddenly grew heavy. She was exhausted from her long day at work. Before Nia slowly drifted off to sleep she decided she was going to cut off her affair with the doctor. . .
