Hi hello I have a complaint
Several years ago I watched Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List, it became a comfort movie, and around my third rewatch I caught that it was based on a book. Queue me immediately borrowing it from the library and loving it. While in England, I finally bought myself a copy, specifically this copy

beautiful cover, I’ve always been impartial to word art. Now, because I love this book, I always said I’d read Cohn and Levithan’s other collaborations. And Dash and Lily is now a Netflix series, so I figured the time is now. Now onto my complaint. I remembered there were other Levithan books (both solo and with Cohn) with this style cover design. And one of them was Dash and Lily. Which I just found out is a trilogy. And after an hour of searching, I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that only the ?second? book has a matching cover to my N&E copy. As far as i can tell, the publishing house responsible for this cover art didn't even publish a copy of the first book. So I don’t know what to do 🤦♀️

Eyy yo, lets stop normalizing showing videos and audios of 9/11 in schools. That traumatizes people, and it is wrong to show actual footage of such a horrific event to minors.
I am 17 and today I was expected to watch a long compilation of videos and audio, I was told to take notes on it as an assignment, I couldn’t make it through the video, I had to stop once they started showing people jumping out the building.
This was not the first time something like this has happened to me, and I hope, oh I hope that it is the last, since this is my last year in high shool. I have watched many videos of 9/11 starting from a very young age, I was born post 9/11 and I should not have been subjugated to watching something like this.
There are other ways to teach kids, or even adults about events like this without showing them the videos, come on that should be obvious!
Furthermore, if you want to honor and remember the lives lost in this attack, do not share videos of the event, that is disrespectful, and traumatic to watch. Share images of the memorials and the names of those lost, that is a great way to remember this event without spreading more trauma to others.
Let’s be respectful, and caring on this day, not harmful,
Thank you.

Man I’m so involved in Punk Academia rn
Apart from the fashion (which fucks as it is), it’s just SUCH an important mindset to me. There is a lot of elitism in the DA fandom and while pretty editions of Shakespeare plays are fun, education should never be exclusive.
And while many teenagers are attracted to DA because they want to be different from their peers, it’s SO important to realise that you’re not better than other people because you read classics. Education should always be a matter of lifting others up and sharing your knowledge, not hoarding it and laughing at people you think of as lesser

Idk if this has been done but...
Punk Academia: hates institutionalized education but loves studying niche subjects in their free time. Sweaters under leather jackets. Loves uncensored history books. Enjoys rock/punk music for the poetic lyrics. Adores arguing about history. Definitely a true crime junkie.

House of Salt and Sorrows

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A Craig
Once there were twelve of us.
I seem to be reading a lot of murder mysteries these days, and yet this one blew them all out of the water. The inspiration behind it alone, I had high hopes, but I still wasn’t let down. Grimm fairytale meets Poe’s Annabel Lee, this story is full of death, tragedy, and mystique. Set on an island that worships Pontus, the sea god, this story has a rich tapestry of fictional culture, that has been so fleshed out that I feel I have enough information to adopt their lifestyle if I ever want. There is no place to get comfortable in this book, because it draws you in and twirls you around with the remaining princess. You never quite know what’ll come next...

Four Dead Queens
:

Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte
One big lie. Two forbidden romances. Three days to catch a killer.
I’m a sucker for split point of view in a book, and it was used so strategically and magnificently in this book that *chef’s kiss*. I really loved the characters, and the unpredictable nature of the story. Going into the book, I thought it would be straightforward with the normal twists and turns, but there were definitely a few blindsighted I wasn’t expecting. There are also some pretty damn cute pairings in this book, which complemented the plot gorgeously. The main characters are nicely fleshed out, and the minor characters even have lives outside the story that are acknowledged. In the end, you can only hope the killer gets found…

This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story

This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story by Kheryn Callender
Nathan Bird doesn’t believe in happy endings.
Containing some seriously powerful QPOC voices in the middle of a fluffy high school romance, this book is seriously amazing. When Nathan Bird’s ex best friend comes back into town after five years, Nate realizes he may have to deal with some uncomfortable truths. The friend group was just adorable, each one of them having their own storylines made the story seem more three-dimensional than most, as if they were all real people instead of supporting characters. All of the characters have flaws. Not cutesy, pity me flaws, but ugly human ones. This story is real, and yet that somehow adds to the fluffy atmosphere of it all. Mistakes are made, people fight, life goes on. And yet, the world seems to stop for Nate as he learns to open himself up to living for the moment…

The Cheerleaders

The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas
Beautiful. Talented. Popular. Dead. There are no more cheerleaders in the town of Sunnybrook.
A beautifully written high school murder mystery! 5 years after her sister and her cheer squad friends died, Monica starts digging, leading her to question everything she knew about the girls’ untimely deaths. The book starts off just as one would expect, of a high school drama, a romance gone sour and the anniversary of her sister’s death fast approaching. But as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that this case wasn’t the open and shut book the community was led to believe when it first happened. This book was impossible to put down, the plot was captivating, and there were new twists around every corner. A definite must for fans of the genre, The Cheerleaders is utterly disorianting. It seems as if everyone has a secret in Sunnybrook...

I want to live freely. I want to be spontaneous, reckless, exciting. I want to live young and make myself a life for when I’m older. I want my own small apartment full of plants that I try to keep alive and fail miserably but it’s okay because at least I tried. I want to have friends that don’t mind spontaneous adventures in the middle of the night, who don’t mind running errands with me, or when I get in my dark place they won’t mind staying in with me and watching movies in silence just because I don’t want to be alone.
I want to wake up with a feeling of purpose. drink my coffee and read as many books as my easily distracted mind will let me. I want to live somewhere with so many trees you can smell the pine coming in through the window I will always keep open no matter how cold it is because I like the fresh air.
I want to talk to others even if I’m scared to do it, get to know people and show them what love really is. I want to be someone people can go to for anything. I want to be the kind of human being who brings joy to others and themselves.
I want to live a meaningful life.

I swear I'll write more in 2019
So I've been drafting and redrafting the same story for roughly three years now, and I realized I'm just unsatisfied with my writing style. So, I'm going to try to take a month long break from that, but in the meantime I'm going to try writing some short stories for practice, beginning with the one I started last night based this song.

This is fucking incredible and so worth the read
You wrote a novel about a demon falling in love with a human. Then, you summon a demon in order to get “real” feedback and constructive criticism. To your surprise, the demon laughs at your work.
