Bored af rn so here are some thoughts on ghouls!

Ghoul Sounds

Purring

A ghoul will purr when they experience intense happiness and/or relaxation. In addition to this, purring can also help calm others.

Who can do it: all ghouls!

Chuffing

A ghoul will chuff as a greeting, when content, or as a polite way of correcting/warning another.

Who can do it: fire ghouls and quintessence ghouls

Trilling

Trilling is done when a ghoul experiences intense happiness, relaxation, and comfort.

Who can do it: all ghouls!

Growling

A ghoul will growl as a warning, and the pitch at which they do will indicate their level of frustration.

Who can do it: all ghouls!

Hissing

Similar to growling, a ghoul will hiss as a warning, usually when their growl isn’t enough to get their point across.

Who can do it: water ghouls and earth ghouls

Barking

A ghoul will bark when startled or when angry/defensive (repetitive barking).

Who can do it: earth ghouls

Howling

A ghoul will howl when lost, distressed, happy, or as a way to warn of danger. While howling is specific to earth and quint ghouls, it can illicit a response from all elements, who will in turn make their own noises.

Who can do it: earth ghouls and quintessence ghouls

Bleating

A ghoul will bleat when startled/scared or content. The pitch at which they do will indicate their feelings.

Chirping

There are different types of chirping, all of which are short, repetitive sounds (think the ��ek-ek-ek” sounds cats make). A ghoul will chirp when happy, content, tired, and when their hunting instincts kick in as a form of communication.

Bird Songs

Longer, repetitive, musical chirps that a ghoul will sing when happy or lost.

Siren Songs

A method of luring in prey/mates through song/vocalizations by inducing a trance-like state (levels of which will vary with intention).

Clicking

A ghoul will click when they need to get the attention of someone.

Who can do it: fire ghouls

Whistling

Short whistle notes are made to warn others of danger and/or get attention.

Voice Mimicry

The ability to mimic the voice of another.
