According to the Kennedy Library, Jackie’s confirmation name was Mary, and Jack’s was Francis. “They were so much alike. Even their names - Jack and Jackie: two halves of a single whole...” - Lem Billings Follow Me on Wattpad @ModernDayHistory

Happy Birthday Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis! (July 28, 1929 - May 19, 1994)
Jack used to watch the White House television tour all the time. It was so sweet the way he was proud of me. I was so happy that I could do something that made him proud of me. I was never any different once I was in the White House than I was before, but suddenly everything that had been a liability before: my hair, that I spoke French, that I didn’t just adore campaigning, that I didn’t bake bread with flour up to my arms… When we got in the White House, all the things that I’d always done suddenly became wonderful to people. I was so happy for Jack that he could be proud of me. It made him so happy, and it made me so happy. – Jackie Kennedy, 1964

what a generous snapshot. one of the few pictures i’ve seen where it seems like the picture is not stolen or planned but naturally, generously, gifted by jackie. everyone else is a blur of motion, immersed in their own discussions, whereas jackie turns for just a millisecond and gives herself over to the camera. alive and radiant as ever. the most solid thing to be captured and yet there’s a gentle effervescence suspended in time too. a fleeting thing. a moment that’s not meant to last an eternity but a worthy moment all the same.

jfk/jackie interview, 1958
found a rare interview featuring jackie and jfk that was recorded during their trip to oregon in 1958.
two interesting things to note:
jfk laughing when jackie says she has no ambition to visit russia then backtracks if she should've said that out loud lol
the interviewer implying jfk's prospective presidency 2 years before he announced his candidacy
here's the link if anyone wants to read the transcript/hear it in better quality (i had to compress it for tumblr):

One of my favorite photos of them together 🥹
Tumblr media
On the ride back to the White House the President reached over and tenderly brushed his wife's hair out of her eyes. This is rare because JFK rarely liked to show PDA. Jackie later told photographer Stanley Tretick,
"It's my favorite picture of the two of us, because it shows such great affection."
This photo was also one of the only photographs that she could bear to look at after his death.
