Me, unprompted all the time: the fact that Shelley Duvall was considered a bad actor during her role in the shinning is fucking criminal, not only does she deliver with more emotion than anyone else in the film, she had to deal with Stanley Kubrick constantly harassing her between takes, the fact that the academy never recognized her performance in the shinning and in fact she got nominated for worse actress makes me want to drive my car into every old man in Hollywood

Annie Hall (1977)

I watched Annie hall (1977) for the first time on Saturday! It wasn’t bad to be honest, it was sorta hard to distinguish a flashback and present time, but other than that, it was great. It had a good mix of funny and serious, and definitely didn’t end the why I thought it would.

I guess I’m used to the same old “happily ever after” so I believed they would have gotten back together in the end, so when they didn’t, it was a nice change. I also loved the different actors in this movie, Shelley Duvall, Christopher walken, Diane Keaton etc. This was definitely one of Christopher Walken’s earlier performances. I’ve never seen a woody Allan movie before (purely because he’s gross and creepy) but honestly, Annie Hall (1977) was a good movie to watch. I’m not the kind of person to watch romantic comedies, or even just romantic movies, but this was a nice change from what I normally watch! Also! My favorite scene is definitely the lobster scene😂incredibly funny and creative, reminds me of how I act with my boyfriend!

I’d honestly rate it a 7/10. I definitely understand why it won Best picture at the oscars.
