Boredom was abundant in Chaldea, and little could soothe the ever lasting itch of curiosity. Even most of the new faces were dull and all the same to Gilgamesh — all, except one. Mystery it is, why his attention was captured by a certain Archer — the one that was sitting right before him. One could say, as an equal, as only the King has the authority to sit whenever he pleases, others require a permission, for it is disrespectful to place yourself at one level with the King.
An exception, she was. First, she managed to somehow confuse him with another Gilgamesh, that of Caster class, which always was amusing — and irritating at the same time. They’re completely different, he would think, they at least dressed differently. One clad in golden armor, with upper body exposed, red pattern engraved in skin. Other donning questionable clothing, which made no sense. That alone is enough to guess who is who. However, some even have the nerve to not know WHO Gilgamesh is — and given the fact that the Archer, apparently, knew the other Gilgamesh, she was starting off way better than most of those mongrels.
Well, that mattered little now, as she decided to approach him again, despire the somewhat violent outburst. It takes a great amount of courage to do so, given his overwhelming strength and intimidating aura. Admirable, it is. A person not like the others, that’s something worth of his attention and time. Good. Exceptionally good.
The question, however, was unexpected. Gilgamesh suspected the culprit behind leaking such information, yet it wasn’t something he wants hide. No, not at all. On the contrary, everyone should know this, know and revere him, for he is above filthy mongrels. Way, way above, and grouping him with THEM is an insult. Oh well, guess he had to feed this girl’s curiosity about his own being. He approves being interested in his persona. A lot. He leans forward, smile gracing his lips.
“It is nothing like they tell you. During my stay here I came across different… stories, fantasies, for the lack of a better word, all about demigods. They are laughable. Using their powers to help humanity? Pathetic, all they do is spoil those mongrels. What is a mongrel if he’s not useful? A waste of space and resources. I am not a BABYSITTER. I do not pamper.” A hint of sour expression appeared for a brief moment as he was remembering whatever he had watched, or read, or played, as there was an abundance of media… Maybe it was not a good idea to leave it accessible to Gilgamesh, as he was scoffing to himself about ridiculous tales that he indulged himself in. Learning more about current world was, apparently, a mistake.
“I am GILGAMESH, the King of Uruk, and everything that exists belongs to me. The world is my GARDEN. So how can I allow parasites to exist? Those who do nothing, who know nothing, yet are determined that they are worthy of existing. The key to prosperity is eliminating the weeds. And that garbage mongrels like to create about demigods? Nothing but their childish dreams, wishes for someone to protect them. I am not like that. Humanity must be controlled with force, with those powers, otherwise mongrels will lose their way. Like a cattle, hah.”
Despite harsh words, there was no hint of hostility in Gilgamesh’s words. He held a… strange love towards humans — because if he didn’t, he wouldn’t be praised as a hero. He’d have wiped them out, as he is perfectly capable of doing so. His only issue for now was… current media and their depictions of demigods, too benevolent towards humans. A pet peeve, one of many.
“As for your second question, it is hard to explain. Human minds have a limited capability, yet since you asked so nicely, I shall tell you. I am both and neither. Like a glass in the mirror, separating yet connecting the two worlds. Too human to be divine, and too divine to be human. I see everything as both, but my path belongs to neither.”
A demigod, created to serve as the successor to gods and the guide to humanity — who rebelled against gods and terrorized humans. There was no cohesive answer to such a question, it was not something one could explain — especially not Gilgamesh, as he lacked proper skills to do so. He may be wise, but sharing feelings is outside of his capabilities.
Yet everything has a price. He allowed the Archer occupy his time with her presense and questions, but the King’s attention is never free. It was time to demand payment, and an appropriate one. Gladly he already had a thought in mind… Something that he remembered from reminiscing about his rule in Uruk.
“Now that I have sated your curiosity, you ought to tell me anything I desire. It will be fair, and I will not accept any disagreements.” The voice was stern, ruby eyes staring right at her.
“Looking at you, I can not help but wonder, why would a woman like you not leave progeny behind? Unless you did, then I praise you. A man can only dream about having a wife like you. Knowing what respect is, polite — and a warrior, with a figure perfectly suited for childbirth. Yet what could have possible made you choose a path of warrior, not wife?..”
The last question was rhethorical, almost as if Gilgamesh was thinking out loud as he continued to stare at the Archer. Undoubtedly, she was beautiful, which made him even more inclined towards letting her near him. Not that he disliked her presence — he wasn’t used to someone willingly approaching him with not fear or doubt. This woman looked promising. Indeed, quite so. Maybe, if she proves herself valuable as a conversation partner, he will allow her a friendly duel, a right reserved to one and only person in the entire life. As much as Gilgamesh would have loved to have them around now, he had no choice but sit and wait, in boredom. At least now he had someone to talk to… or so he hoped. It all depended on the Archer’s answer.
The King of Heroes was harsh, direct and as enigmatic as she had expected, yet she found herself amazed by his charisma nonetheless. He was speaking of culling the population, was he not? And with such ease. Yet, she did not find herself condemning him, even if she could not support meaningless massacres. He had his reasons. They were complex and difficult to understand, but not completely incomprehensible. True to his statement, Gilgamesh was hard to explain. But, his answer granted her the slightest of understanding into his position, as both human and divine.
“ A man can only dream of having a w-wife like m-me? ”
Rose pink filled pale cheeks—then vanished. His following words causing her crimson orbs to narrow ever so slightly and expression to harden.
“ Tomoe believes it is possible for a person to be fulfil more than one role in life. We all have many sides to ourselves, even for those who are of pure human blood. ”
She herself may not be wholly human, but she had seen more than most during her lifetime. Death at a young age was far too common, yet Tomoe found herself lingering in the living world long after those she loved had passed. Perhaps she had been nothing more than a vengeful spirit in mourning, simply wandering without purpose. But even so, she had observed many happenings in her homeland, and seen the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ in humanity. Moreover, in this vast world, the things she had seen were nothing more than glimpses.
“ I simply wished to protect Yoshinaka-sama, my family and my comrades. It would be foolish to simply sit around and wait, when I could ensure their safety with my own hands. I met many men who belittled women, spoke as if we were incapable of protecting ourselves, let alone stand on the battlefield. Yet, they have been proven false, not only by myself but by many other brilliant women. A woman can be anything a man can, and more. ”
A pause, as she breathed in deeply, with one hand pressed to her chest. It was a way of calming herself. What he had triggered was not anger, simply irritation, but with a temper like her own she ought to be careful with both. Nevertheless, she was offended by the suggestion that by slaying her beloved’s enemies she had become unworthy of him.
“ Does Gilgamesh-sama think that a woman can only be either a proud warrior or a beloved wife? ”

“ Gilgamesh-sama. ”
An attempt to make contact with the man of that name, as a cup of boiling tea was placed soundlessly before him. Such words were familiar to Tomoe, but she was not addressing the king she had served in a past summoning. Instead, she now sat before a man ever so similar to the Wise King of Uruk, yet so vastly different. She had made a fool of herself upon their initial meeting, mistaking him for her former liege. He, Gilgamesh ( of the Archer class ), had scolded her; anger brought forth by his pride in himself as an individual. It was a single gesture that had earned him her admiration.
It was strange, but his charisma, or perhaps something else, called to her. And she found herself attempting a conversation with him once more.
“ May I ask what it’s like to be a demigod? ”
There’s little warning, Tomoe had always been very straightforward. She had read a little of his story, an epic that continued to inspire mankind, and had witnessed his strength in battle. So when she found out that he had both divine and human blood flowing within ( from a certain Caster ), she couldn’t help but wonder.
“ Do you ever feel like there are two sides to you, because of your blood? ”

@moesakari activated the starter protocol.
“…I sense that I’ve met you before, Inferno Archer. Danzo is unsure where, but…yes, I’ve scanned you at least once prior to this moment.” Although she had no recollection of Shimosa, aside her meeting with Fuuma, she knew all too well that this Archer was one she met before. “Forgive me. I do not mind starting over, but if I am resummoned, Danzo may forget again.”
She remembered the voice, yet it was only a vague sense of familiarity. Archer’s recollection of that time was blurred, unlike her stay in that foreign kingdom of gold. Shimosa was a time she had allowed her rage to devour her whole, or rather she had been unwillingly incited into such a form. That had not been the real Tomoe, even if her dislike for those who took Yoshinaka-sama’s life existed. Her’s had been a time of war, she resented herself for not being able to do more for her beloved yet what’s done was done. His name had not been desecrated, nor his body ( she had made sure of that herself ), so she was satisfied, in a manner of speaking. Tomoe would never unleash her wrath upon innocent people, for that was against her code of honour.
“It’s quite alright. Master has yet to discover my true identity, so I cannot speak my true name, but I look forward to working with you.”
A small bow to her fellow warrior, before she asked.
“Did Master have a mission for us?”
#karakvri#karakvri.01#v.chaldea#// very late but thank you for the starter!#i adore danzou! i'm really glad to see you play her.#i hope it's okay i set it before they find out her true name!

“ It is a great honour to meet a warrior of your skill. ”
A small smile upon her lips as her head dipped into a bow. Tomoe had no intention of peeking at other’s battles, yet she could not will her eyes away from the grace and strength of the female now standing before her. Women on the battlefield had been rare in her time, and more the reason why she found herself bedazzled by them so easily.
“ Your spearmanship was breathtaking! ”

the archer sighs.
“it seems to me someone tried to bake the old fashioned way using wood when none is necessary,” he says, turning off the stove in which the woman had put in the firewood. “This isn’t a barbecue so we don’t need wood for making the food,” he says calmly if a bit… irate. she nearly blew up the stove he thinks. and it’s the only one they have.

“if you need help with cooking, then just ask. for now we need to wait for the stove to cool down and remove the burning wood.”
@moesakari
" How would one cook without fire? ”
Her expression stern as she mused to herself. Even if she had been granted knowledge of modern day ‘technology’, application was a little more difficult. Archer Inferno had merely wished to speed up the heating process, yet it seemed to have backfired.
“ ...But, I’m thankful for your aid. I can remove them now, if you would stand aside, fire cannot hurt one like myself. ”

“ Was that man bothering you, Master? ”
A gentle frown upon the warrior’s features, even though her glare had sent them scuttling away so fast they almost tripped over their own two feet.

“ Master, would you like me to prepare tonight’s meal? I have yet to show you my culinary skills. ”
Smile brimming with confidence and good intentions, so genuine yet oh so deceiving. One mouthful was all it took for many to claim they had seen the gates of Hell itself.

Tomoe knew that it was rude to stare, yet her crimson orbs would not leave the wonderfully robust ( and probably deadly ) protrusions from the giant Berserker’s head.

“ This isn’t what it looks like…. ”
Her voice drowned out by the crackling of firewood. The plume of ebony smoke bellowing out from behind her an omen of incoming disaster.
