Beetlejuice Guide trench πͺ²
Project time: ~10 hours
The iconic stipe suit is not the only look that the ghost with the most rocked in the Beetlejuice movie (1988). The guide look is no less awesome and could be a star of your Halloween.

A plain trench coat itself is from Primark and came in almost perfect shade that matched the swatch from funko pop model.
Making the coat look worn could be a challenge. Adding rips and shaved scratches is rather tricky and requires to test different tools to see what works for the type of fabric youβre working with.
The most fun part of the project is adding stains and βmoldβ. Dilute your paint and apply messy layers of paint to create stains or use different shades of green and brown paint. For this project color work was done with acrylic paint, however fabric paint could better withstand harsh climate conditions.
Finally finish the look with a bit of fake web. It happened to look the most natural when soaked in water mixed with grey or brown paint.

Beetlejuice Guide hat πͺ²
Project time: ~10 hours
As there are not many options for the guide hat from Beetlejuice (1988) a few tips and tricks to easily recreate the iconic headpiece with a tight budget
ββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
The cap was made from a 12β¬ chauffeur hat from Halloween store. The size was too big to look great in the pictures, but it was easily fixed by adding a ribbon on the inside. The initial color was black which works, but for more authenticity the fabric was painted patchy grey with acrylics. To keep the consistency of the fabric and not make cap too crunchy paint should be applied in a really thin layer (such small amount of acrylic would leak if you get under rain!)
The label was made from a thin cardboard oreo box and painted with markers and acrylics. Using markers for lettering saved a lot of time. The buttons were initially gold which didnβt match the look so they got repainted too and attached with a glue gun to cardboard. The cardboard part however did not stick well to fabric with glue gun, so itβs better to either sew it in or use double sided tape
