The joke is often that Sonic has ADHD, and Shadow has autism - and while yes, this is absolutely true in my eyes - I must spread my propaganda that Shadow also has ADHD HEAR ME OUT - He's not the Hyperactive type of ADHD like Sonic, but rather he's the Inattentive type of ADHD. He struggles with his mind often wandering to other things, we see how much this guy loves to brood. For that reason, he finds focusing on things for long periods of time quite difficult. He can be forgetful and has a hard time organizing himself (he canonically never handed in his homework during the ARK, despite him being smart). To me? Him having the Inattentive type of ADHD just makes sense.

Sonic's hyperactive though, we see him be quite impulsive and struggle to sit still. Although I also see him actually having the two types combined. Anyway they're constantly borrowing Adderall from each other... that's if they even remember to get their prescriptions In the nightmare scenario of them living together, it's over. Sonic doesn't even try to organise, while Shadow attempts to start a note-taking system and chore chart but he's forgetting about it and giving up after the first week. When was the last time either one of them went grocery shopping? Don't ask them that. Just... just don't...
